25 likeseclipse on atrl: "everyone has different taste different opinions if someone doesn't like something they are allowed to express it insider or not, if you build expectations around that then it's your fault, i know i loved the 3 pre-release tracks, i know i love the arcadia snippet, i know THIS is the album for me and cocc was the calm before the storm, cocc is the guy who gives you blue balls after edging you all night, arcadia will be the girl to make me bust" "blue banisters her best album"

24 likesOkay I've just caught up on this thread and I wanted to note on this - I feel like this may be a possibility? BoZ noted that there's also a Barrie outtake on the record, and Barrie was present at the recording studio when Cherry Blossom & Colour Blue were originally recorded. Since not much is known about Colour Blue, even its title, perhaps Barrie had credits on that song that we didn't know about? BoZ added that the outtake was one we hadn't heard before, but perhaps he only knows the title of it rather than having listened to it, and since we don't know the true title of Colour Blue, perhaps that could be it? Just theorising. (also, I'm going to move out some of the drama that happened earlier out of this thread, so if you see the page number decrease that's why) xx

24 likesVideo Games is my fav song of all time, Bel Air is one of my fave Lana tracks, I'm a Hope Is A Dangerous Thing stan and I'm a fan of the stripped back May Jailer stuff, so it's not that I can't handle piano or stripped back production but.... idk, I feel like sometimes these slower more ballad-y tracks get lost and lose their value if they're in an album full of them. Making good music is a talent and a skill, but you know what else is a talent and a skill? Arranging and pacing an album well. I also wanna point out that although some fan faves are technically piano ballads (Old Money, Video Games, Black Beauty, etc etc) those songs usually have additional instruments (harps and strings in VG, drums in BB, etc) and strong melodies. There's a fullness to them. The apprehension regarding lots of piano on this album, for me, comes from the fear that there might not be that same fullness on these new tracks and that the album won't be paced or arranged very well and the amount of slow piano tracks could be overkill so I won't care to go back to it v much. That being said - personally I like Blue Banisters and Text Book but I absolutely ADORE WFWF, and that's because there's a strong vocal melody in the performance, those synths/organs and some cool drums in the track, as well as an overall empowering message that just ticks all the right boxes for me!!

23 likesif you think about it, she's always reworked/recycled songs from previous eras for her albums diet mountain dew was originally conceptualized in 2008, and recorded in 2009, so it's a bit older than most of the born to die tracks, yayo was reworked for paradise, it was originally recorded in 2008 for ldrakalg (although i will say, the original version is 10x better ) old money was reworked from methamphetamines, which is from the lizzy grant era, beautiful people, beautiful problems was originally recorded in 2014, and yosemite was originally recorded in 2015, so it's definitely something she's done before, and i think a lot of other artists probably do the same

23 likesRe: Recycling Old Material for an Album I like to think of Lana’s entire work as a metaphor for a dwelling. Every album release is a room in the house, each with its own personality, aesthetic, and vibe. The things inside of the room (aka each track) can be from any given store, retailer, catalog, etc… In other words, the songs can be from any era but the key element is that they were purposefully chosen, and they ultimately work together to create a beautiful album. When you zoom out and look at the dwelling, it becomes a living repository - a meticulously crafted archive of who she is as an artist and as a person.

23 likesBoZ not liking the album is definitely good news if he hated Chemtrails I'm so happy that Lana doesn't care about what kind of music people think she should make and just does what she wants, she's crafting such a beautiful legacy. She told us long ago that she wanted to make her life into a work of art so it's silly for people to want to control her output and tell her what that life should look like. It's very clear that what Lana is accomplishing is a lot greater than hit music and commercial success. She's long past proving that can do that and has the freedom to unravel her art however she pleases, and I am so happy to be here to witness it. I can't even imagine what her artistic contributions will look like to the world in 50 years, especially if she continues on the way she has this past decade, which I honestly think she will. This album is going to be so good

22 likesGuys, guys, guys. Hey. Calm down. Writing personal attacks is not nice and doesn’t really contribute to a discussion at all. Let’s stay civil, shall we? @Nahime I’m not the biggest fan of Chemtrails either. It has it’s ups and downs, and it’s okay to dislike it and say it’s not your cup of tea. However, I think you’re taking it a bit far when you’re calling fans here delusional for being understanding of Lana and her process of making an album, and also when commenting on Lana’s mental health. We don’t know anything about it after all. If she has songs she’s made in the past and feel like they’re ready to be put on an album, I think we should be grateful for that. She’s an amazing artist (with incredibly annoying promises of album releases - I agree), so let’s give the album an honest try before throwing it away, okay?

18 likesoh no, don't hold me accountable for this! I would actually love for Colour Blue to be released, for the sole reason of finding out what the true title is. Truly one of the biggest LDR unsolved mysteries x

18 likesIt's kinda annoying how these NON-INSIDERS on ATRL behave. They could literally ask so many questions about the album.... But no. They act all high and mighty and go around saying "heueueueue the twinks at analboards are debating whehsheheu" Or else they ask the dumbest useless questions ever. And sometimes they act "nooooooo we wont ask any questions. We are better than that. Lana will release when she wants xoxo. Dont trouble our precious insiders" ... Imagine. You can ask The producers. Number of tracks. Collabs Genre Duration of album A possible tease of a lyric or an acronym. Possible leaked songs appearing. Possible music videos.. You can just ask it as a yes/no question. That way , the surprise still remains..but we atleast get a bit of info instead of dying in uncertainty. And insiders can choose not to answer questions which reveal too much info. Pls let me sign up on ATRL and I will do all this. Stupid website closed registrations. END of rant. ? Now Arcadia drops this or next week probably. With BOz saying "give her a few more weeks"

17 likesYes it was fake. I’m sure thunder has retained the same or similar production bc they made it w zach dawes and she seems to be doing a lot w him recently. Also boz is so weird. he first was rlly into the album and hype “im here for it” “omg i cant believe shes doing this” “trust the process and dont be negative”, praising all the singles and now he’s acting like he never liked anything about her and throwing out his pretentious opinion. He should’ve just kept it to himself. I’m guessing he didn’t like how she changed it especially after how he said she scrapped a song he liked. Anyways boz opinion doesnt really mean anything to us. I dont feel like There’s any piano overkill in the first place since Text book and Thunder have none. I’m not worried about piano ballads as long as the melody is good, like Arcadia. In fact I personally want more songs like Hope because the melodies are so emotive, but I’d also love another song like Text book

16 likesDidn't see this posted here yet but BOZ said the delay is due to vinyl production. Also appears to love the target cover. Oh and said this about the BB video "I'm pretty sure that was just an album trailer, but I remember hearing about directors being asked to send treatments for REAL BB video so that might be coming later ".

16 likesPretty sure Lana might have an idea for her own album, of entirely self-written songs, that she put together, and sequenced, regardless of when they were written. No one’s forcing her to put out a second album in a year. No one told her to put more than 11 tracks on it. It’s not like she’s trying to get out of a contract. She does what she wants to do. Other artists like Bruce Springsteen and Prince used to repurpose older tracks they wrote all the time. I’m sure other artists nowadays do, too — they just don’t have insiders with a weird hateboner for Lana trying to spoil the excitement for already hard-to-impress fans. Weren’t you all thrilled to get Thunder and Cherry Blossom, anyway? The negativity is exhausting. At the end of the day, we’re spoiled — we really are. And I’m very excited for the album, I’m sure it’ll be great.

16 likesBOZ taste is basically tragic. Don’t take him too seriously. He is an extreme Dula stan that has praised every single thing she has released after FN (standard edition) which generally has been a major choice. He hated COCC, suddenly he praised the three new songs and suddenly he does not like it because she has scrapped the song or songs he liked. Then he comes hyping Kacey up like tomorrow does not exist and the title track turned out to be a weird thing. And I could provide more examples of his taste because 95% of the times he loves things I do not. Besides, he is not a Lana stan since who knows. Here it comes another praised album I fear.
