I’ve been honest and optimistic about the challenging song productions I’ve had. News flash! That’s just how it is for many piano loving fathers. And that was sadly my experience up until the point that Blue Banisters and LDR 9 were made. So I just want to say it’s been a long year of bullshit reviews up until recently and I’ve learned a lot from them. but I also feel it really paved the way for other fathers to stop ‘making fast bops’ and just be able to do whatever the hell they wanted to in their daughters music- unlike my experience where if I even played one single piano note in Sweet Carolina I was deemed literally hysterical as though it was literally the 2010s. Anyways none of this has anything to do about much but I’ll be dealing some of my feelings in my next two books of poetry (mostly the second one called Dread Shrimp Angler) with Simon and Schuster. And I’m sure there will be tinges of what I’ve been pondering in Lana‘s new album that comes out in June. Thanks for reading Happy quarantining

exactly, like if you get the chance to do something fun and cute for a tenth anniversary of a very loved and cherished album you should probably do it well she is ALWAYS talking about releasing unreleased songs, this was the perfect opportunity to do that!! so why didn’t she!!!!!! it’s not like she would have to record anything new or whatever. so many great demos from that era exist - get the clearance from producers/writers, slap them on an exclusive record of demos, and call it a day. and the photoshoots from that album are one of the most iconic of any album ever, do something with em.

where did she serve? are you fucking kidding me? the album was amazing, the video's were amazing (minus HL), the desert concert was serving, the tour seems to be amazing, she gave us beautiful vinyls and other merch .. so yeah Marina was serving all the way long! especially with the deluxe

Have you guys heard the MM3 leaks? She's obviously ditching the childish themes for this upcoming album I think After School was a good transition from the K-12 sound to MM3. The EP lyrics are mostly a huge improvement from K-12 (and I'm saying that as someone who enjoyed both).

10 years, how time flies. Lots of emotion here. Every time I listen to EH, I hear an album where Marina is a great actress. Each song stands out from each other, they each take us into a different dimension, a piece of film that we can shape endlessly with our imagination. I really liked that she interpreted this role to perfection, to move in the body of a fallen girl with Hollywood dreams and to do it so well is not given to everyone. Electra heart could be a movie as it is well done. This album is a real jewel, of a high quality. It is not exceeded, it still sounds fresh 10 years later. Shame on the media who boycotted Marina on her appearance and they didn't understand the meaning of her album which is not superficial, but on the contrary is written with such sincerity, truth that we perceive the emotions on each song . It will have cradled millions of people and given so many memories, sad or happy, I could never erase it. And the aesthetics ah so beautiful. Happy that she recognizes this album despite the difficult promotion it received and the bad memories it left in her. It is finally recognized and appreciated at its fair value. She deserves so much!!! One day we will have all the unreleased, a remastering of Miss Y and so many others ♥ Thank you Marina for what you gave us, and you haven't forgotten us, unlike some who preferred to sell us covers of ugly paintings for the 10th anniversary of an important album ------> <------ And a parenthesis on ADIAM, I found Marina active and devoted to her project. The album is very good even if some texts are squeaky, she was great in giving nice little clips, very beautiful outfits, songs to perfection, her proximity to the fans, the concerts (the concert in the desert was incredible, this sound and this professionalism!!) too bad he is not loved, I know he will find the respect he deserves in a few years. She doesn't have a lot of budget and we can see the perfection and the investment, I hope she will continue her next era with the same state of mind.

After School was literally the perfect bridge from K-12 to MM3 and it deserves much more. I loved the EP since it came out but after hearing the MM3 leaks it made me appreciate it even more.

As many people have said before, this (alleged) tracklist is a choice, especially considering that this was the one chance for her to finally release a complete edition across all formats (original album + European deluxe bonus tracks + How To Be A Heartbreaker + EVOL + Electra Heart + Just Desserts). For that price, it should've been a 3LP set including all of these songs (and ideally some outtakes too), but oh well. Maybe the tracklist from her US store is incorrect, because her UK store still doesn't have one, and the one on jpc.de is completely different yet again lmao. This being said, I still preordered it. If nothing else, at least it'll look cute.

first of all some of your charli takes are iconic and second of all despite what it may seem like i actually wanna like her... and I don't hate this, it's better to have every officially-released song of EH in one place than nothing. it's just that IDK- like she could've done so much more and truly given us a great anniversary gift (I mean, "gift"... it's not free) like florence did, a whole boxset, pictures, posters, outtakes, etc.

They're not wrong though. It has "2015 tumblr era" written all over it, and there's no way it would've been half as successful if she has released it now in the 2020's. It's not a bad album, but most people would probably agree that it's pretty dated by now. It has been almost 8 years, after all. I just feel like she shot herself in the foot by not releasing K-12 as soon as it was finished and moving on to newer things. I honestly could have lived without "After School" if it meant getting new concepts and better music years ago.
