lustforlife is calling from beyond the grave & he’s revealing some totally legitimate information about ldr9 - the current title for the album is “the nasty-ass lasagna i ate in lake placid - and other stories i’ve never told” - the title track is 19 minutes long, & as it seems, she talks about her experiences growing up in lake placid, some of these stories detail getting diarrhea from eating some suspicious lasagna, babysitting a relative’s new baby & getting pooped on, starting a food fight during lunch in middle school, which resulted in her getting suspended for two months, as well as her friend’s strange habit of eating worms off of the wet & cold street, which she recalls in graphic detail - the sonic influences of this album are broad & eclectic, ranging from piano flops™ produced by jack antonoff & robert grant, redneck hillbilly country, which is a tongue-in-cheek response to all of those who bullied & made fun of nikki lane for literally existing, extremely loud & obnoxious 2011-style electro-pop which samples gangnam style & fergalicious, & what can only be described as a mixture between the sounds of thrash metal, acoustic jingles which sound like they were made specifically for target commercials, & gwen stefani - collaborations include nikki lane, kanye west, bob dylan, kamala harris, spongebob squarepants, & nikki blonsky (from the movie hairspray!) - she will cover 1 track, she is doing a cover of sandy cheeks’ “texas song” - she is highly experimental with this album, she sampled the sound of somebody chewing tobacco dip as percussion, & the sound of a wal-mart toliet leaking as a synth

My great grandparent owns Interscope Records and he just told me in his deathbed that Lana is considering "In Your Cockpit" as track 1 for LDR9

"Brokeback Bareback" is a 37-minute-long trip-hop odyssey about gay sex under bridges and overpasses in the rural South. The rest of the album will be piano ballads under 3 minutes

My cousin works at Interscope and gave me the following insider tea about LDR9: - Album title (as of now) is “Daddy’s No Carnivore”. “Diseased New California” is an alternate title that the execs are really liking right now. - The album is described as “pussy in a can”. Very experimental and bombastic with a floral twist. Being compared to Charli XCX’s Vroom Vroom EP. - She will incorporate trap remixes of her old discography as interludes. Songs currently being considered include remixes of Pin Up Galore, Jesus is My Boyfriend, and Scarface. - Album opener is titled “Roll Me Round”. Album closer is a 10 minute recording of Lana and friends & family doing various kinds of ASMR set to dissonant plucked guitar played by Jack Antonoff. - Track 3 is called “Hit Me From Behind” (previously “Fuck Me From Behind”) and is definitely the Dealer of the album. A jazzy, beachy screamer that comes from the heart, sampling “Maha Maha” and “Wayamaya”. - One of the tracks includes snippets of voice memos she recorded of herself talking to her cats while her phone spun in the dryer after she accidentally dropped it in. - She caught some flack for ad-libbing “Fuck Stefani Germanotta” in multiple tracks. Expect chaotic energy coming from every song.

Happy 5th Birthday to Lust For Life I can't believe it's been 5 years This summer I'm playing the album quite alot & I really fell in love with it again Such a special album somehow Especially 13 Beaches is hitting again recently & almost every night I watch the stars & listen to Heroin & it's perfection. Heroin might be my new favourite from the album, the production & everything is just so stunning & otherwordly She definetly delivered some major career highlights!! And yeah somehow I miss the LFL era so much...the livestreams , the album trailer, the aesthethic, the radio premieres , the Love music video , the "Love" poster, the first time listening to the album bc it was amazing, the summer of 2017 in general

It's not mean, and I respect other singers, but I think Lana is the only one to be the queen of her genre, to have developed it with incredible musical and artistic perfection. She's just perfect everywhere. She's kind of like the top of the class, she's got it all figured out. I think too many artists try to copy her, although they try to change a few things here and there, there is often an obsession in the background to copy what she does and her videos. It may not be their intention, but it's hardly laughable, and no one comes close to it. There is inspiration and inspiration and for many there is not. Since she became known, I have lost count of the number of "sad and aesthetic" artists who have appeared, it's nice but there are too many now. Lana deserves more credit. I'm not targeting her in particular, but Ethel Cain is a distant copy of Lana Del Rey for example, she sings well but people have to find their own universe like Lana built hers.

She's the most followed female musician in Soundcloud too, due to the unreleased catalogue. Lizzy is truly powerful.

I agree about the artistic growth but I seem to prefer listening to other people's stories instead of society's.The same is true for Marina. In a 2020 live stream she said that TFJ and EH (and also Froot) were more egotistical because she was young and now she writes about the "collective psyche" and whatnot. But what are her best albums to date...? Exactly those three. And just the same, Lana's best work (to me!) was released up to 2015. Then she went societal... LFL does it especially and it's subjectively her worst album to date. I just feel like when artists try to speak for others they are never as good (and also water themselves down) as when they just write about their own thoughts and experiences. If I wanna know what's going on in the world, I turn on the news. I personally want artists to be weird - unique lyrics, unique sound, unique thoughts.

I find it pretty funny that Grimes has gone from an underground indie weirdo that friends used to say I looked like anytime I did something weird and unconventional with my looks, now to a capitalised robot queen who has the gen z egirls and gamer guys in a chokehold. I half want to vouch for her still, half want to cover the eyes of my 17 year old self who was obsessed, so I don't see what she becomes I still find her fascinating tho, that's the thing. It's tiring. It's like I wanna go to sleep and be done with this but I keep drinking coffee to stay up and see the end of it.

My cousin works at Interscope and gave me the following insider tea about LDR9: - Album title (as of now) is “Death Never Comes”. “Burden of Fame” is an alternate title that the execs are really liking right now. - The album is described as “unfiltered and unflattering”. Very experimental and dramatic while being piano-based. Being compared to Fiona Apple’s The Idler Wheel. - She will incorporate spoken word poems from “Behind the Iron Gates - Insights from an Institution” into the album as interludes. She intended on giving it the VBBOTG treatment but changed her mind last minute. - Album opener is titled “Change Everything”. Album closer is a poem from BTIG “My Father Told Me If I Went Slowly, I’d Be Safe - But He Was Wrong” delivered as beat poetry. - Track 7 is called “Leather Leotard” and is definitely the Dealer of the album. A jazzy, screamer that sounds pretty much improvised, think Rhianna’s Higher. - She will shadow drop two singles Sep 2. “Brokeback Bareback” and “Prosecco and Peaches”. The second was recorded very recently and sounds like Black Bathing Suit mixed with Cruel World. - unreleased tracks being considered: Pawn Shop Blues, Noir, Serene Queen, and Valley of the Dolls. - One of the tracks includes snippets of voice memos she’s been recording of herself sleep-talking. Being played throughout the song in a similar fashion to Adele’s My Little Love. - She caught some flack for ad-libbing “Fuck Marina” in one of the tracks. Expect chaotic energy coming from every song.
