I think you all have a one dimensional view of country music. She’s not gonna come out with some generic county pop. It’s gonna be more rock, folk alternative country. I don't see the point in panicking about potential country music from Lana when it's obvious that her definition of that is completely different than ours She said Video Games and Ride were kind of country songs, I think we're safe lol. And a lot of her old unreleased songs have really heavy classic country elements, so if that's what she plans on going for and not "beer beer hot women in a pickup truck" country, I'm all for it

Genuine question, not trying to start an argument: How does it make anyone bitter if they simply don't enjoy country music? Lana fans mostly started being fans from 2012-2015/17. Some more during NFR. Most of us just didn't come for country, more like for the exact opposite. It's pretty logical to me that full-blown cowboy hat and boots yeehaw is not everybody's cup of tea here. If at all it'd have to be campy Dolly Parton style with big hair and glittery costumes.

If she truly embraces country on this record, I don’t think it will be the modern, country-pop version that seems to dominate the genre lately. While Lana always puts her signature twist on a sonic landscape, I think she’s more inclined to lean into the sounds of older country, and I think Prettiest Girl In Country Music (particularly the melody and harmony) is a great example of that. What’s interesting is that she’s already mentioned Drew adding orchestral elements to her tracks for LDR9, so are we getting a mix of wordy, orchestral-tinged tracks AND country? Are these separate projects? Time will tell

I'm pretty sure this country thing is the Capitol Records deal she had last year. Probably just covers. I wouldn't mind country from Lana, as long as we're talking 1950s-1970's country vibe, not faux-cowboy country pop vibes.

If Lana were to actually do a full country album it would be a serve and a half People get scared when they hear the word country but I'm sure Lana would channel the classics rather than cheesy country pop and she'd give it her own unique spin the way she always does. I bet her country album would be a huge critical success.

the thing about the country album: Lana is pretty ironic and she knows a lot of us don’t like Nikki Lane or even her most country-ish songs so I do actually think this some time of joke meaning: or the album will be completely opposite of country or she will actually release ldr9 as a full country album and this comment was a way of saying “I really do not fucking care about your opinion, I’m doing my shit how I want”

She once said she considers Video Games and Ride country songs (and I kinda see it) so anything could happen The 2 country songs with Jack were so good and her music with Nikki too, my only complaint is that their voices don't match AT ALL. But anyway, I'm sure it's a side project and not LDR9 related
