Since this has been officially confirmed, I went ahead and updated the title and OP and moved this to the New Releases section! I for one am super excited about this and can't believe it's finally happening Before I even discovered Lana back in 2012, I was a huge diehard Swiftie. Although I'm not as much as a super stan for Taylor as I was over a decade ago, I still enjoy listening to her albums (and have multiple pre-orders for Midnights already) and am so excited for this! I consider both Lana and Taylor some of the greatest songwriters out there, so I know this song will be an absolute slay x

Now I'm 100% sure the actual era is going to start soon. Our theory of them wanting to wait until the Taylor collab is almost confirmed Her streaming resurgence + Taylor exposure is going to make sure the lead single does well

Regardless of your opinion on Taylor just enjoy the fact that we're getting new Lana Also considering Taylor is lowkey a stan I'm sure she picked one of the best songs for the collab and she'll give her a good part and not just background whispers

I'm excited! I'm not a fan of a lot of Taylor's music but I loved Folklore and Evermore had some great songs too. She clearly respects Lana a lot as an artist so I'm sure they've come up with something special together. And if you really hate it, just click next. We survived Don't Call Me Angel, we'll be fine lol.

this! folklore and evermore secured my love for her songwriting, she really is super talented no matter how many people try to be quirky and different for hating her because she’s so popular (even though I do have to admit, hardcore swifties may be the most annoying fan base) the ariana/miley was destined to fail, they made no sense together, but this!! these two make so much sense together with their current sounds

i've seen a lot of people saying they're disappointed that lana is collaborating with someone as evil as taylor or that she "sold out" because she's collaborating with taylor... as if her and taylor haven't occupied the same folk indie singer-songwriter sphere since 2020 & as if lana hasn't collaborated with a wealth of other popular artists. nobody is forcing y'all to listen to this collab!

I personally think there's been a growth in Lana's lyrics in the past three albums (except for a few old tracks she decided to throw in), and she's really let the music elevate her words. White Dress is a great example, it has retrospective lyrics expressed gently and with care, and an instrumental which really lets the listener feel and understand what she's trying to tell. Sorry if I went off topic with this reply.

I can’t believe some people are really mad or not excited abt this 😭 After the… tragedy of don’t call me angel I’m just so happy to be looking forward to a collab that actually has potential to be amazing. I’ve always found Taylor to be kind of annoying but that’s just me being a hater. The growth and maturity in her music that she reached with folklore and evermore is undeniably good… and when she named Lana as the greatest songwriter of our generation, even though everyone tells HER she’s the greatest every single day.. well that pretty much got me to finally like her and listen to those last two albums. I’m sooo ready for this. I have faith in these two

first of all both of them were quite friends at the 2012 MTV Europe awards, plus we all here know lana has changed a lot from the last decade and so did taylor, if you guys stopped the criticism and looked up for her and her admiration for lana you wouldn't be so boring, just catch a wave and take in the sweetness

If Taylor let Ed Sheeran, Future, Bon Iver, etc shine oh their respective collaborations, I’ll trust her on this. She has a lot of admiration for Queen Elizabeth. She’ll want this track to be a MOMENT.

I just wanna say that this is a discussion forum and if people don't like this from the start (we must listen to the song to know if it's good or not), then that's their (or our) problem, if it is a problem. I just don't see the point in telling someone who is here because they love Lana that "there's no point in being here if you don't like NFR/COCC/BB/the-idea-of-the-Taylor-collab", it's straight up rude. This is a discussion forum and it's okay to like or dislike things and give arguments or not. Not everyone will have your same opinion and thats OK? I don't like this idea (still don't know if it will be good) because I really dislike Taylor's music and I know many others think the same, and this is a discussion thread for that, so what's wrong in voicing your own opinion... I'm not being rude to anyone for liking this. I might sound annoyed because I have my own thoughts on this which I'm not even sharing because I'm seeing how relentless some of you are, which it's ok! I don't think anyone here thinks like that. She's probably releasing soon not cause she's popular right now but because she has an album almost done and we know she doesn't like to sit on albums. But anyway she's still signed to a major label so of course they will try to capitalize on hype and popularity. Nobody is demanding her music now just so she charts or whatever, we want new music cause we are Lana fans

I just hope it’s not country the cover doesn’t look country though, it looks jazzy/sophisti-pop(ish) so I have high hopes

oh don't let us kill your excitement! at the end of the day I'm just a nobody giving a personal opinion on the internet so it means nothing because the collab is happening either way I think there's more people excited for the collab than the opposite and like I said before, maybe it will be a serve after all and it will shut my mouth

i have to imagine this will be similar to exile from folklore. piano based, gut wrenching, contrasting vocals singing to each other before harmonizing together at the end. there were a couple songs on folklore that truly were incredibly written, combine that with Lana’s own lyricism and melodies and it’s hard to believe this song won’t be good. although snow on the beach sounds like a lana parody so I must admit I’m scared

I have no idea how this (or the album) will sound… But Snow on the Beach reminds me of the « cold foggy beach » feeling rumoured to be on LDR9… or even waist deep into icy waves 🌊 and it’s a Jack song… it’s probably just my delulu mind talking, but I don’t see that collab being that far-fetched from what the Lana album could sound.
