11 likesFinally watching the NME interview and the album is definitely coming. She explains again that it’s more songbook melodic and less self revealing. I think the intention of her previous comment was to signal she doesn’t know where Lasso will fit with all these country albums being released or already released. i think she might be uncertain where it will fit it the culture, but this uncertainty makes me even more excited for this record. sorry i know we’ve moved on from this topic

9 likesI do agree with the fact that it's kind of fair to be disappointed by lana's behaviour since she already got involved with the letter and in the past she took political positions multiple times - and i agree that we shouldn't expect from EVERY celebrity to talk about this, everyone do what they want - but it just feels weird in my opinion that Lana doesn't say anything, not even a word for all the people that are dying, when literally everyone is talking about this war. Also I think it's pretty likely that she might have been warned not to take positions since a lot of people in the industry are Jewish - BUT so many celebrities spoke up so idk, we never know what relationship between these people really are

8 likesi just saw zara larsson’s IG story and I 100% agree that the reason why we should be begging for artists and celebrities to speak up is to put “PRESSURE ON OUR POLITICIANS” it’s clear that the majority of those who want their favs to speak up only want them to so they can feel good about stanning them and so their fav doesn’t get any hate. you can see it on here and all over stan twitter you can see people arguing with one another and bragging about their fav showing public support. i feel that pleading with celebrities to speak up to make an impact within politics and pressure those who can make a change is really impactful, but to just have them only speak put by posting a little IG story and nothing more is just really stupid and performative. every time this thread is hot, it’s because of lana or some other celebrity, not over new news

8 likesnot to defend her actions or lack there of, but honestly, i just think she's out of touch and ignorant, and i don't consider that to be at the same level as somebody being intentionally malicious or hateful like other celebrities like amy schumer, perhaps signing that paper from joe biden wasn't the best move, but i honestly don't think she really knew what she was doing or looked into it very much, she probably just saw that our democrat president wanted celebrities to sign a paper for some sort of cause and she thought it would be a good idea to show support because she just simply wants to help out, she likely didn't know what it specifically was for or what the issue at hand was, and, of course, it's quite foolish to do that, but i personally do not believe she has any malicious intentions, i think she always wants the best for everyone no matter who they are, but she just isn't very well-versed or knowledgeable about politics, so i honestly don't expect much out of her regarding that obviously, i think it's best that people educate themselves and do research from reliable sources, to raise awareness, and to help out in whatever ways they can, and it would be amazing if she did the same, but i honestly don't know or think she will, but at the end of the day, we don't know her, we don't know what she does on a day-to-day basis in her life, or how she feels about certain subjects, so i don't think we can just assume she feels a certain way, we don't know for certain if she's donated or not, or if she's doing research, but it does honestly feel like speaking out publicly is the best thing one can do, maybe we'll be pleasantly surprised, but i honestly wouldn't be surprised either if she doesn't say anything she's a musician at the end of the day, i can't necessarily expect activism or taking political stances out of somebody who's rich, famous, and who's job is to entertain people, or be incredibly upset when they don't speak out or when their views don't perfectly align with mine, i'm not saying that's necessarily right or good, but that's just the way it is

8 likesOh absolutely, I won’t be mad or blink an eye if it’s not 16+ tracks! It’s not like this is her first album in years, she knows how to keep her fans fed! I like her ‘picking the best ones’ mindset that she had for Ocean, but I do agree that a shorter more thought out track listing is beneficial. I do think Lasso should be a bit shorter just because I think it’s going to be more of a concept album

I want to believe but I think the writers of these magazines know about as much as we do, there’s multiple instances of magazines giving the wrong release dates (LFL, NFR in March, September for COTCC) but here’s to hoping!! -

7 likesShort, even 10-track albums are the best to me. So i'll be pretty satisfied with a 13-track album. If an album has more tracks than that there's ALWAYS fillers in it

7 likesTbh I don’t completely get this argument, I don’t want 30+ songs like some of my faves, but I’ll never say no to 16 tracks. That just gives me more content to possibly enjoy and if I don’t like a track or two (which happens on every album) I still have plenty of songs to fall back on, COTCC had 11 songs and I don’t love three of them so that leaves me with 8 tracks to enjoy. IDK I get not wanting an album to be bloated but I’ll also take as many songs as possible just for the variety

6 likesHaving a, for example, 10 track album where every song is really good is nice and pleasing but having a 16 track album where I love 10, like 4 and don't care about 2 is way better to me. I tend to listen to full albums so the concept of a record is important to me but for Lana I don't care... I value quantity cause the quality is usually up there during the whole thing. Like I might skip Beautiful or some LFL tracks but I still listen to them from time to time so I appreciate that they exist Of course more than 15-16 tracks is a bit too much tho

6 likesOh my god not Judah Smith that church is basically a cult that Lana has somehow ended up in. Staff being forced to “donate” money to the church, the church being a charity meaning it doesn’t have any tax, Judah buying mega mansions for him for an “investement” to the church, straight up saying abortion should be fully banned and how it’s a grave sin , while also hiring rapists and defending there actions This is not a “church” and not something Lana should be affiliated with. As a Christian they are not real Christians

6 likesI’m so glad she just casually says no. She’s NEVER liked touring and she’s had stage fright since the day she blew up so if she wants to do 4 shows, release an album, and then do more festival shows, more power to her! I do think she should have done a show or two before Coachella to warm herself up. Night 1 showed that she was a bit ‘out’ of it, and that was a major show to come back to. When I saw her in September it was her second to last show so she was visibly more comfortable on the stage. personally I don’t believe she cancelled the NFR tour due to her vocal chords. (I’m sorry!!) She saw what was happening around the world the same time we did (she always has her finger on the pulse) and decided to spend the last month of ‘normal’ with her family, and with as much as she cares for them she’d really want that

5 likesPersonally I don’t believe in forcing people to post on social media about issues, especially if they are not super knowledgeable about them. That being said, it would be nice to see lana post about ways to donate to different organizations. I think just posting pray for Palestine type of posts come off really performative it’s turning this into some type of weird online contest. It doesn’t do anything productive other than bully others and point fingers instead of listening, educating and helping the people that are actually in need. Posting about ways to donate and educating yourself actually make a difference, those are the things people should focus on. not this “who’s fav has posted on their story/ said more” game. it’s ridiculous this is a genocide not a stan war. How do we even know lana hasn’t donated to Palestine? If she did post about donating, people would call her performative or would say she didn’t donate enough and call it a tax write off. People will never be happy either way. anyways speaking of donating, this account called the Palestine Children’s Relief Fund has been going around insta and if you have the means to support I suggest helping ♡︎ https://www.instagram.com/thepcrf?igsh=MWQ1ZGUxMzBkMA==

5 likesManifesting with you That sounds perfect I really want 13 or 14 tracks but I wouldn't complain if we get 16-18 songs 15 is somehow an ugly number to me so a no from me But in the end I'm happy no matter how many songs we will get but 13 just feels right for Lasso somehow (especially with no Interlude nor covers)

5 likesI agree. And if someone said it was 16 tracks I would be happy with that too haha. I mean obviously you know I love TTPD which has gotten the “bloated” argument a million times. But my comment was more for the people who are dissapointed it isn’t some 18+ track long mega album lol (which I find funny considering how many people on here accused Taylor of being “greedy” for releasing a double album…. but that’s not the point). I think a shorter album can be an indication of more thought out tracklist and picking the best of the best.

5 likesI don’t think this argument works for Lana since she already decided to get involved by signing political letters. It’s fair for fans to be disappointed in her behavior. Back on topic. I hope there is a clear confirmation about whether Tough is a Lana or Quavo song once it is released.

5 likeshttps://www.billboard.com/music/music-news/lana-del-rey-talks-country-era-music-business-has-gone-country-1235693085/ idk if this article has been brought up yet, but this billboard article implies lasso is still coming in September. I know they could be totally wrong, but with Elle saying it would be and this I’m having more hope we will have a release hopefully September if not the end of the year.
