Oooooh what if Rick returns for some tracks on the standards album? Do we know anything on Nowels + Lana, did they end things on OK terms? No hate on Jack but Rick Nowels and Lana are/were a match made in heaven and I hope they work together again

Honestly im so hyped, its like a new lana album for me since i dont listen to any of old american music, i know maybe like 5 songs and the fact that Jack finally isnt a producer i just hope it wont be piano flops only

They’re saying pretty mean things like “tw//lana del ray”, “This made me jump”, “she is so hard to look at”, “she’s so ugly” (these last two are from people with Nicki Minaj profile pics so it sucks that Nicki’s fans are doing this), “I know she did not use her busted ass face as a reaction pic”, “spoiled milk”, “white women are the devil”, etc. ...it’s dehumanizing and rude and I can’t believe people tear other people down who are just living their life. They preach about kindness on Twitter but then immediately go and do this

As far as we know, she still loves working with him. They were supposed to work on a Broadway together (maybe it’s the Alice soundtrack?) and the beginning of NFR was written with him. They seem to get along great and he understands and respects her vision of an album.

The possibility of the album actually being called “American Standards and Classics” made me think how cute it would be if she went super 50s with the title and made it something like “Lana Del Rey sings Americana Favorites!”

I feel like it’s actually going to be called American Standards and Classics. Something about the euphony and cacophony of such a literal title feels very fitting for Lana and still hugely part of her brand. In the caption of her IG post she mentioned folk and Americana songs too, which I’m so excited for! Lana and more traditional, classically “American” stylings feels very comforting so I cannot wait!

It just perplexes me that most of the people on stan Twitter are teens/young adults who, with the influence and inclusivity of Internet culture, you would think would be accepting of others, understanding of people, and kind as a means to combat the hatred in the world, as that’s what their collective values are broadcasted to be, but this just fuels said hatred it is quite sad and I hope culturally we move away from that.

All I have to say is her tagging Zach Dawes is giving me fucking life. I’ve been wanting more from them since California and Thunder. I feel like we are in for a treat! Plus her mentioning Patsy covers are a plus to me. Excited to be getting something while we wait for Chemtrails but seems like could be very good covers project.

I feel like this album will have a similar sound/vibe to Cat Power’s second cover album “Jukebox”. That one’s mostly Americana songs and it has a really nice bluesy atmosphere to it. It’d be cool if like that album, Lana also re-recorded one of her most famous songs in the style of the album and/or had a new song she wrote just for it, sandwiched between a bunch of classics, subtly inserting herself into the great american songbook and becoming a part of history.

So many options and opportunities. Patsy is confirmed, excited for that. I think we can bet on Joni and Joan covers as well. I really would love a Julie London track from Julie Is Her Name, either I’m In The Mood For Love or I’m Glad There Is You. Also would love a Roy Orbison track maybe Only The Lonely, Blue Angel, or Crying. That would be awesome! I can see us getting a Ricky Nelson cover maybe since she shared Garden Party. I’d much prefer something like Lonesome Town though. I’d also love some more Bobby Vinton. Please Love Me Forever would be a dream. We may also end up getting Heartbreak Hotel with this project. We will see I guess! To add more to my wishlist lol Connie Francis, Brenda Lee, and Dusty Springfield all would be dreams too. I honestly could keep going so I’ll stop here, for now.

the "You're locked into Club Future Nostalgia" in CFN always sounds so threatening it rlly gives this full experience of being locked up in a club with The Blessed Madonna not letting you out n being forced to listen to whatever the fuck they're playing and being stunned by it at first but then developing this stockholm syndrome esque feeling with the music and now ur suddenly bopping along to the random noises in Pretty Please Masters at Work Remix and you find yourself going back to Club Future Nostalgia after eventually being released from it.. whew

Though I’d love to have a Christmas EP at some point from her, I really don’t want a Christmas album right now: who knows how long we’ll have to wait after that for Chemtrails? If any good, that Americana album will have much more replay value than a damn Christmas one. i Hope the sound of it will have a « warm embrace » feeling the way LMLYLAW and You’ll Never Walk Alone both have. It’s much needed in those challenging times.

Lana ditched Jack as producer for the covers album confirmed (?). she’s probably annoyed she promised us a covers album to make up for Chemtrails because now she actually has to do it. I never want to her to let go of the folk it’s my favorite genre!!!
