Thinking that the cover shoot could perhaps be from the same day she was spotted at the Spadena House in August 2020?

I love Jack’s production so much, but I think it makes sense that she would work with another producer this time for a few reasons: 1) Jack is still in New Jersey and is unable to come to LA because of the pandemic - this halted the process of Chemtrails a bit towards the end, and naturally, Lana being nervous about that record, would not want to have those limitations of proximity be a concern again. 2) She said to Annie Mac that she was hoping to see if the covers album with Zach Dawes would “spark anything” - obviously, Zach seems to have been her go-to producer since the pandemic happened, as they made Dealer, 2 cover albums, Summertime the Gershwin Version, a live version of Let Me Love You Like a Woman for Fallon, and possibly a whole original studio album together. 3) Lana always works with the same producer(s) for no more than two albums: Rick Nowels, Dan Heath: - Born to Die/Paradise (with additional production from Emile Haynie, Justin Parker) - the original Ultraviolence (before the rework with Dan Auerbach) Rick Nowels: - Honeymoon - Lust for Life Jack Antonoff: - Norman Fucking Rockwell! - Chemtrails Over the Country Club 4) Obviously Lana has been going to a studio in LA and has an album finished/close to being finished - a “revenge” album points to a fuller-sound with guitars, and Lana mentioned to Music Week that she loves bluesy, outlaw music inspired by her country music friends and other country idols of hers. Zach, having produced her country covers album, would be the most obvious choice as a producer since the covers album likely bled into the process for this country-esque album that Lana has implied LDR8 will be.

My vinyl concept - I would love something more experimental with the variants this time! Lana’s world-building calls for it, I’m surprised she hasn’t done something as eccentric yet!

I KNEW jack was holding Lana back I KNEW IT. The way she had to do the bare minimum for TWO albums cus he was scared of taking risks, and to think we could've been getting heavy drums and electric guitar masterpieces this whole time but instead we got tinny piano songs with no punch and no bass for a solid 3 years straight 3 YEARS STR8.. JACK SUCKS JACK SUCKS JACK SUCKS JACK SUCKS JACK SUCKSSS

I ran the article [poorly] through Google Translate in the Rolling Stone thread, but here are the two biggest takeaways: Most recently I wrote an eleven minute poem. It's called "My Father Told Me If I Went Slowly, I'd Be Safe - But He Was Wrong". What instructions did you give your producer Jack Antonoff particularly often? "Let yourself go!" "Be wilder!" “More twists at the end of the songs!” And whenever I got stuck, I asked him about chord progressions I could sing on.

In the Rolling Stone interview she says that she often asked Jack to "be wilder" during the recording sessions and that she actively encouraged him on going in harder on the songs. Remembering that she mentioned being uncertain about the albums sound but not being able to further work on them because of COVID, that could indicate RCS will actually have a more intense sound again. Unlike the NFR era, she does not talk about how great Jack is in nearly every interview, so maybe she really moved on with a new producer - perhaps Zach, since they did Dealer together, which is indicated to be a "wilder" song.

i think the most likely lead producer is zach dawes, with contributions from rick and maybe kieron menzies since they're all located in CA. i'd love both dans to come and also contribute to the album too i think it's kinda unlikely she'll be working with completely new producers for this album because it's come so quickly and there wasn't really an adjustment period, plus pandemic it's hard to get in touch with new people and travel. unless she immediately clicked with a new producer that isn't zach i don't see her branching out too far

Blue Hawaii One actually interesting/fun thing she says is that during the recording process, she often asked Jack to be "wilder" and go harder on the songs. Well, that did not really work out, did it? Maybe that's why she was not completely satisfied with the final version of the songs. And it could indicate that she'll actually go with a more intense sound on RCS

My theory is that Lana will embed every single thing she did in the beginning of her career into RCS. If she wants “revenge” why not go back to what they hated her for? The Lolita, daddy issue sweetheart that everyone knew as LDR. I think we will get some loud bangers form RCS. Besides, BTD hits 10 years next year I would love for her to visit her roots. Jesse Rutherford creates some pretty good songs when he’s solo that have a hip hop influence. Lana should work with him on something, but I would also love some co producer like Chino Moreno from Deftones. Lana on a track like this would be heaven sent. https://youtu.be/f0pdwd0miqs

She said a while ago that she was working on two albums and also said she "knows exactly what she's doing next" so I don't think it's a question of "if" but when. I honestly do believe she'll deliver at some point this Summer. Chemtrails has been done for almost a year now so she has had plenty of time to record new material. I HOPE we get something aggressive a la UV. I know that's every fan's wet dream but I just want that firey sound back. We had delicate Lana with Honeymoon, pensive Lana with LFL, over it Lana with NFR, and wandering Lana on Chemtrails. It's time for a shakeup!

I think that there's a huge difference between changing toxic traits and changing who you are. Most of people mix those two and go after an unrealistic version of themselves and end up being hurt, depressed or bored. Lana probably mixed those two and just now realized that she doesn't have to fully change herself to be happy

In her Rolling Stone Germany interview, Lana revealed she recently wrote an 11-minute poem titled "My Father Told Me if I Went Slowly, I'd Be Safe - But He Was Wrong" which may possibly appear on this project! Because she referenced the length of the poem in minutes, it seems very likely that this poetry book will also have an accompanying audiobook as Violet did x

The way Lana was really the one who caused Jack to snap. So really Lana snapped, Jack was probably scared during the recording of DBJAG. He wanted those friendly Christmas bells to cheer him up.

this will be such a revolutionary album we won't know what hit us it'll be ultraviolence folk edm trip hop boom like that house country nikki lane down in the barnyard louisana alabama god loving gospel singing jazz heavy metal surf noir hawaiian tropic paradise by the dashboard light jukebox hip hop ragtime slow jazz all tied up in a pretty little bow with a rock candy on top the perfect metaphor for sweetness hidden by shards of bad things and its nice but it hurts and you want it but it's hard to eat and hard to swallow like the facts of life are hard to swallow and loving lana del rey and accepting she is a legend an icon etcetera is hard to swallow especially for critics when you are only seeing the ragged pieces

I don't think Jack held her back at all, lol. She herself said in that Grammy interview that during the making of NFR, she expected the record to be more Venice Bitch-MAC psychedelic etc, but once they were making the rest of the songs, they decided to keep it more of that piano, singer-songwriter laurel canyon vibe, and she thought the two gelled well together. With COCC, it seems like they were removing sounds/instruments and really highlighting her vocals on purpose, even if she did try to push Jack to go harder and she feels like they could've worked on the overall records sound some more. I've been a studio musician before, and being asked to 'go harder' or whatever is not really a critique or whatever. It's just about making sure everyone is on the right page. Sometimes you go to record something and you think you have an idea of what they want, and then they elaborate and you adjust. Sometimes its 'can you play that more aggressively?' or 'can you improvise' etc. I really don't think it means that much. That being said, I still support a Zach Dawes album just because I want to know what it sounds like. Jack is an amazing producer though.

I think Jack keeps Lana in a box. Glad at the possibility of main prod from someone else

i'm so hyped to see if we get that wilder sound she wanted on RCS. i do love the work lana's done with jack, but i think she as much as most of us are ready for a change. in terms of producers for this album, if she only plans to work with one, then i'm hoping it's zach. the work she's done with him (that we've heard) is magic and it would be a really great/natural progression from NFR and COCC

OMG we won! Jack snapped for Chemtrails, but Rock Candy Sweet needs a more wild producer! Daddy Rick, entered the fucking chat! Jack is cancelled again.

https://www.instagram.com/p/CMu4pDahIWc/?igshid=1tt9uccvubfx1 Courtney Love liked a bunch of comments on her recent post from the studio, including ones asking if she has a collaboration with Lana on Rock Candy Sweet. Since she seems to be liking a lot of random comments, I would NOT take this as confirmation that she is featured on the album (much like how Nicole Nodland liked comments about her shooting the COTCC album cover ) but I think it’d be amazing if she was!

i really think this'll mainly be a daddy rick and daddy zach album since a) they're both in LA and b) we want a wilder sound
