im sorry but i was high last night and i came to realise thatlana is literally a god, i mean influential is an understatement, you know how like there are certain people that create the most amazing works of art in this world, mozart, pablo picasso, madonna, mary magdalene an icon, and they mark there territory on the universe , lana is a god in that way, he voice is just unlike anyone else', probably the most beautiful voice ever heard by anyone, birds could never, imagine think she is burnt out... i could never, my mind appreciates beauty, to so sum up.. lana is a real life god, in conclusion thats my truth

Text Book, Wildflower Wildfire, Blue Banisters, Arcadia, The Trio, Sweet Carolina, Black Bathing Suit, Beautiful and Violets for Roses are new songs. She literally started writing and recording them last fall and completed the recording sessions in June. She reworked Thunder a lot, as well as Living Legend - albeit to a lesser extent - according to insiders. Erickson is credited as a co-writer of If You Lie Down With Me which means that the song must have been heavily reworked for the new album. How is this lazy? She scrapped some songs she wrote with Antonoff last year. We're not even sure if she reworked the likes of Cherry Blossom and Nectar of the Gods - and even Dealer - or not because it seems that the insiders have had access to an earlier version of the album and haven't even listened to songs such as Black Bathing Suit (at the very least; I wouldn't be surprised if they haven't listened to some of the other new tracks as well). This is the second album she is about to release this year, merely 7 months after Chemtrails. She'll have released 8 studio albums by the end of the year. In less than a decade. The first singles off Blue Banisters showcase sophisticated and elegant writing and instrumentals; a departure from Chemtrails and NFR in several ways. And this does feel like Lana at her most intimate. I don't know what else she's supposed to do in order to please some of you at this point. I keep reading posts that constantly reek of negativity - borderline toxicity at this point - on nearly every single thread even for completely random reasons. Why is everyone being triggered so easily? Why do people keep dragging her claiming that she's been burned out/lazy/an elitist/hypocrite? It's exhausting. I'm signing off.

Arcadia’s 2nd mv was also a special moment for the fanbase because it was finally a surprise that wasn’t spoiled by those damn insiders trying to be relevant. If something is meant to be a surprise don’t fucking ruin it just because you want twinks praising you on Twitter

let’s just be grateful we got unidentified flying bill this year, because i didn’t even know if i’d ever hear that song in my lifetime

The way I see it with leaked songs being on the record (and I hope this may help anyone struggling to reconcile any grievances about older songs being on the album and wishing for strictly previously unheard material) is that, the song still exists beyond the time of its conception, and thematically, lives on and does not have an expiration date. The beauty of music is that, if we truly enjoy it, we don’t just listen to it only when it is newly released. The actual recordings of our favourite albums do not change between their initial release and our listens of it over time.

I think this new interview pretty much confirms If You Lie Down with Me as an Ultraviolence session/2013 song I just know it's gonna be a huge serve

I still not understand what is lazy about using outakkes. It's not like the songs were handed to her, she actually wrote and recorded them, just not this year. She has like +200 unreleased songs and she's giving us the second album this year (and probably a third one soon with the covers). Lana is FAR from lazy. She's also been working nonstop since BTD dropped. Cmon the longest we ever had to wait between albums was 2 years

So.... if Barrie would have said "no" then we would have "Yes to Heaven" and "Fine China"

now imagine the serve if we hadn't heard blue banisters, text book or wildflower wildfire before the album

Idk y'all gotta remember this is a real human being writing her own songs about her own life. Lana doesn't see her life in "eras" like we do. Lana reuses songs and melodies and lyrics just like every other artist on the planet. Its not her fault we've all listened to the leaks. If you think releasing 2 albums in 7 months then immediately announcing work on another album before the second one is even out equals burn out... I hope her next album is majority leaked songs just for the spite of it all

    1. she has ALWAYS used old unreleased songs on an album. Diet Mountain Dew & Yayo - 2008 Old Money (Methamphetamines) - 2006 Beautiful People Beautiful Problems - 2015 Lust for Life - 2015 theres a bunch im missing 2. this album was meant to be a reflection of her life and career so far and as a way to 'take control' of it.

I kinda wanna make a big thesis-like post on why Arcadia is so amazing, but more specifically, why the 2nd verse is a career highlight, and my favorite part of the song. When we first heard the snippet months ago (first verse), I was under the impression Arcadia was going to be this sort of whimsical, playful song about falling in love, or body positivity (obviously, this being Lana, it would be less corny than those descriptions, but u know what I mean). When we first heard the song in full, I was perplexed by the second verse. On first listen, I felt like the song slightly veered off-course... It left a weird feeling, a strange taste in my mouth... Her vocals were slightly off-key, borderline slurred, a little unhinged emotionally. The video helped make it click: Oh wait! She's actually still fucking pissed about everything that's been said about her. But this colorful delivery, this flavor, in my opinion, is what makes Arcadia so fucking wonderful. So, let's revisit: My body is a map of LA... my heart is like paaaaaper... I haaaate ya. Lana starts to get pitchy on the second word of the second verse, and already sounds deflated as the verse starts. She describes her heart as paper -- thin, malleable, lightweight, and then just straight-up goes for the jugular, stating "I hate you". It's all THEIR fault! It's easy to miss this part in the song due to her delivery, but make no mistake, she's pissed. I'm not from the land of the palms, so I know I can't stay... I'm not native. Again, she goes from general to specific. She feels like an outsider, or an outcast, in a song dedicated to a random piece of a state she's gained so much inspiration from. She doesn't feel like she belongs, so she knows she can't stay. She feels transient, even in a place she's devoted so much of her time to. Tone-wise, she sounds regretful, almost ashamed or embarrassed, at least for a second... But... my curves, San Gabriel all day... my lips, like the fire licks the Bay... Like she always does, Lana bounces back, even when she's upset. The swelling of the music here helps drive Lana's resolve. She claims ownership of HERSELF, and still compares her body parts to parts of California. Her delivery of "My lips" in particular is pure camp, whether she intended it to be or not. It's so deliciously dramatic, borderline Broadway-level, and almost overtakes the song itself, but you can really sense that she's feeling herself in that moment (as she should). If you think that you know yourself, you can come over... Lay your hands on me like you're a Land Rover... in Arcadia. I'm not sure what she means by the "If you think that you know yourself, you can come over" line. Either she's mocking herself for not knowing where she belongs in this world (despite equating her body parts to parts of CA) and wanting to spend time with a man more self-assured than she is, or she's wanting to know what parts of CA another man is made of. Either way, it's cute and flirtatious, and Lana looks camp square in the eye by finishing off the end of the verse slightly flat. A four-line PERFORMANCE of a verse, my friends. From deflation and resignation, to anger and embarrassment, to resilience and confidence, to flirtation and Broadway-infused camp. The drama of it all! Arcadia is that bitch!

Even if theyre untouched in the terms of production, they will be 100% changed in the terms of mastering which is a big deal already - just look at the mastering of Arcadia from 1st video vs Apple Music version

Admittedly, I would prefer a new album with only songs I’ve never heard. However I think it’s important to take a step outside of personal preferences and start thinking about the artistry behind the record. The songs are meticulously chosen because they tell a story, or maybe fit a theme, or a concept. We have to value the product as a whole, and IMHO in this case it’s a timeline of her story which starts back in 2012/13 or whenever those older songs were created. We shouldn’t dismiss an upcoming release simply because it contains leaked songs we weren’t supposed to hear in the first place This record is going to be gorgeous, I can feel it in my core Or maybe that’s the burrito I ate

Album won't leak. I tell ya. You gonna wait to Oct 22 midnight LA time. It's beggining of my insider era.
  34. 11 likes
No because this era will not see the album leak I’m declaring it now
  35. 11 likes
Absolutely. So I guess If You Lie Down With Me has been heavily reworked since Erickson is credited as a co-writer, while Living Legend has been softly reworked, and Nectar of the Gods is probably the same version with the leaked one.

He says: "I actually wrote [Riverside] back in 2012 when I was living on the southside of Glasgow. At the time I asked Lana 'How would you like to sing this second verse?' It worked and we later recorded it in LA. But it's track I've always wanted to put on an album so I went back and asked Miss Del Rey's permission to use Riverside." "She got back to me saying 'of course' but in return she said 'do you remember those four songs we did together, can I use them?' I had co-produced and co-wrote four songs for Lana in 2013 including the song Summer Wine. So I was like 'Sure'. It was cool as it was like a wee trade off but with songs." I think the 2013 songs are actually: Nectar of the Gods, Living Legend, If You Lie Down with Me, Summer Wine.

It's kind of surreal that we're getting so much Lana and Barrie work all around the same time. Excluding the leaks (aka the icon, the legend, miss UFB herself), we're getting Riverside + four tracks on Blue Banisters. With everything we already know about the song, If You Lie Down With Me has definitely become my second most anticipated track. I don't think anything's gonna outdo my excitement for Black Bathing Suit though
