13 likesTwo thoughts on this Monday morning: 1- could DNC mean Desert and Country? The waves being associated with the country part of the land… 2- Loved You Then and Now having a more « bombastic sound » is not that much of a reach, if you consider it was track 8 on the early COCC tracklist. When that song got removed, she tentatively put Dealer in its place to « shake things up » on the album, which makes me think that LYTAN was the first choice to have the « second part » of this album and that it has a different sound from both Norman and Chemtrails.

12 likesi feel like lana already has the concept for LDR9 and it is going to be this (as everyone here assumes) “bombastic” scrapped side of cotcc/nfr. it seems like everything is adding up - not long time ago she added a picture of jack, and on the variety awards she revealed that her next album is going to be better than cotcc/blue banisters - knowing that before the release of norman lana knew it is some of her best work, i think she’s not wrong about LDR9 now. another sign could be wearing nfr inspired jacket on the red carpet, she might suggest us that something as big as that record is coming again. and going back to the part about lana working with jack - maybe they’re recording or reworking some songs to make them fit lana’s vision of the record better? i don’t know, but i’m really excited for whatever is coming

11 likesI agree, I think she’s getting ready for another big release. One with a lot of promo and singles maybe. I think it’s going to become a career-defining album for Lana. One as well-known as BTD or NFR. I think we will hear a style from Lana we haven’t heard in a long time or something completely new. Jack is a very talented producer in my unpopular opinion, and I believe that him and Lana always create magic together. Also, welcome to LanaBoard! I noticed you are new here

Trolling or not, it is extremely fucked up and weird. How immature do you have to be to disrespect a woman mourning a family member's death all for attention? I swear, these Twitter trolls really must have no friends or life in the real world (cause who would want to associate with a person like that) so they desperately seek attention online and put on some baddie-troll persona when in reality they're an anti-social, awkward gay boy and probably get dumped into trash cans at school -

i was thinking... if lana has borderline personality disorder i must have it too! because i relate to her music A LOT! regardless of what behavior she displays, i don't think we could ever say for sure what's actually going on inside of her head because they're just song lyrics which are artistic & exaggerated, & none of us are doctors who know her personally even if she did have the disorder it's nobody's business & it's not anybody's place to speculate -

6 likesI’ve been thinking about this record so much lately, and how its entire composition would be so important in the years to come. Lyrically, God Knows I Tried and Don’t Let Me Be Misunderstood are, in a way, alternative responses of some of the tracks on Blue Banisters that address public relations. That sentiment is portrayed so implicitly but powerfully on Honeymoon. It’s truly her in album form and is very much a portrait that is diaristic as it is stylized. Forever my favourite <3

The fact that the directors board thingy in that picture for the baby MV says 9/1/2021, guessing they shot that and new shapes at the same time? surprised they got 3 music videos shot before good ones even dropped - visual album incoming! -

This is extremely weird. Digging through her music trying to find symptoms to diagnose her with a disorder is invasive and incredibly creepy. It's her life, not ours. We should not be digging this deep into lyrics to try and fit them into a puzzle to get a conclusion. It is obvious you're looking for evidence to fit a narrative and not looking at evidence and coming to a conclusion which makes this 100x more fucking weird. If she has BPD and wanted us to know, she would share it and that's good for her if she's comfortable with that. If she has it and doesn't want us to know, then that's her right. What is the point of this? -

5 likesI personally do not like the recent trend of artists working with only 1 producer on a whole album, but I am nowhere near mad at another Jack-featured album. I know some people were disappointed with the COCC production, but I feel like Lana wanted the album to be more lowkey and not as intense sonically as NFR, not Jack. It is a nice contrast and follow up. Producers do not have full control over how a song sounds, the artist tells them the vibe and they do what they feel fits or they work together. I'm sure if Lana asked for another NFR, he would have given her one. Or if Lorde asked for another Melodrama, he would've given her one

Unpopular Lana Opinions
TRENCH and 4 others liked a post in a topic by IanadeIrey
What I said applies to a very specific group of people and refers to a larger cultural problem, rather than a couple witty jokes here and there like you seem to think I am taking an issue with. I myself as an OG fan know exactly the overblowing on Tumblr you're talking about and I had a disdain for it then, too, so it's not exclusive to just new fans –– it is a type of fan that is just more visible now. I, too, didn't relate to the extremities on their part in terms of trivializing or blaming Lana for their deep-seated issues, but I never thought something was wrong with me for not relating to that. I knew then and I know now how a large portion of listeners (of any artist) instinctively project their issues onto the artist with whom they resonate. I agree that music taste indicates parts of your personality, but let me be clear that I was referring to the generalizations people make based on said music taste, the rampage of which only continues to stigmatize topics at the risk of marginalizing mostly women. People poking fun at women for having 'daddy issues' because they listen to Lana points to a bigger cultural problem where we blame women for psychological distress caused by their emotionally or physically absent fathers. Lana is not to blame for someone's psychological issues. The reality is that those issues were already there and, perhaps, Lana is being used as a scapegoat. And that's not to fully vilify the fans, either – I can recognize where those behaviours come from and feel sympathetic that they have to manipulate the music like that. But I don't have to excuse it. Perhaps that sounds like 'gatekeeping' – but to that, I would encourage you to see the nuance in which I initially made that post. -

This! Besides Sky is no freaking Fiona Apple Sky is pretty much just a random alt pop girl who had released just one critical acclaimed album. All her peers (Grimes, Charli, Marina, even freaking Halsey) are more successful than her because they have released more music, even though all of them (except Halsey) have had big issues with their labels yet they found a way to release music for their fans and receive critical acclaim at certain points of their career. Is kinda dumb to compare Sky with Fiona just for the waiting time span between albums, when actually Sky has a shitty work ethic compared to Fiona, and Fiona have released many critical acclaimed albums in her career. Sky is nowhwre close to Fiona in any criteria (this comes from someone who loves Sky music and just like a few Fiona songs. Her latest album is fire tho) -

We as Sky Ferreira fans have been through more trauma than the US marines I fear. -
4 likeschemtrails over the country club is one of her best songs ever. everything in it is so delicate, so pristine, so carefully crafted. the intro in the music video is pure bliss and introduces the song perfectly, when she starts singing i literally ascend. the violin, the harmonica, the layered vocals, i have no words
