I feel like Melanie is quickly becoming a case study in "shit to not do as an artist". I'm glad she's getting the money she needs, but there were better and more honest ways to do it. If her ambition wasn't higher than her budget after barely passing 2 albums in 8 years, this probably wouldn't happen to begin with. She's also been making comments about "being broke" since she made her first million and started purchasing designer clothes, so sorry if my sympathy is low this time around. I get it when it was the dollhouse video, but an entire movie? That's a bit much to ask from your fans.

"hope is a dangeroud thing" is really heart-wrenching whenever it's playing - yet it's beautiful and so genuine. I love it not because it's sad & distressing & im trying to glamourizing that, i find it beautiful because in that sadness, there's a glimpse of hope crepting throughout the song. That is the point you contemplate Lana's growth as an artist & as a woman, which is inspiring to witness. i used to prefer the title "Sylvia" / "Sylvia Plath" but lately i understand why she chose this long-ass title. It shows her vunerability yet we still see such empowerment before we can even listen to what she had to say in the song.

You're acting as if Melanie was breaking into her fan's houses and robbing them of everything they own Melanie is not broke, but that doesn't mean she's not allowed to explore different ways to make money. It's kinda the whole point of marketing as an artist. If you don't wanna spend $200 on a bracelet, then don't. Nobody is forcing you to. A lot of fans think the prices are fair and bought them within literal seconds of being posted, so obviously there was a market for them. I mean, imagine your favorite artist making a 1 piece custom item that only you own. I think it's similar to how artists sell signed CDs, it's true that anyone could grab a pen and copy their signature but the fact that it's autographed by someone's favorite artist is what makes people interested and what makes them so expensive.
