15 likesI think most people lose interest in Lana's album releases due to the fact that she announces them (or mentions them) long before they're even finished. Look at Taylor, she announced an album that she already had ready and fans will only have to wait a month to hear it, as for us... at least we have health

11 likesMaybe it's the price she has to "pay" for having 2 lowkey albums back to back... like I get she has full creative control but Interscope is a big label so I'm sure they want a bigger era this time (at least in terms of promotion cause a lot of people didn't even know BB was coming at that time Maybe her streaming numbers being huge makes them more confident in whatever she wants to release... or maybe they'll want to maximize profit and see how high Lana can really go with proper promo and something a bit more upbeat or radio friendly I wish I could read Lana's contract to see how much they can influence her output

10 likeshappy birthday to my all time fav!!!!!!!! my loyal company on happy and sad days and nights I can't believe it's been 7 years! time flies and now it's my favorite album ever. I still remember the anticipation I was feeling after having all of the singles and then the album sampler sophisticated cinematic masterpiece. honeymoon is a whole trip to another dimension, I'm simply not on planet earth when I listen to it. forever grateful for this vanity project, I'll die listening to this album ❥

10 likesWoah, I never knew about this! This actually seems way more likely! I’m really curious to see where the song leads if this is the case. It immediately made me think of the line in LA Who Am I To Love You where she says, “Also, neither one of us can go back to New York For you are unmoving As for me, it won't be my city again until I'm dead Fuck the New York Post.” So excited for this record!!

9 likesHas it really been seven years? Wow I really haven’t finished that two year degree I was starting when this released…. Anyway HM, you are that girl. The ingenue the mystique, the mystery of our faith. Our Magnus Opus. The late summer sun on the Italian riviera, the amber morning light in Los Angeles. Icon. Legend. LDR

8 likesLove this and this photo Dominik, beautiful This is inspiring me to share my favourite anecdote on HM, shared it before I'm sure but - when I met Lana at Rough Trade, I made sure to write "ANNE-DAUPHINE" in huge with a Sharpie on my arm so that she wouldn't mess it up, and so obviously, I'm now the proud owner of the only Honeymoon CD in the world signed with "to Anne-Daphine" lol

8 likesHappy birthday to this beautifully gorgeous being. A day of celebration, a day of prayer. Honeymoon is more than an art, she breathes life. The pinnacle of LDR, she is the moment and the only moment since the beginnings of time. What a glorious day oh wow oh wow.. When I'm parched I let the energy sink in and I feel rejuvenated, revived, the power that this album has over me. Do not disturb me during these sacred hours cause I will be having this ethereal scripture on repeat for the next 24 hours

Honestly I think she's looking the healthiest she has in a while. She's always had a thinner face, but her legs used to be really alarmingly tiny. She looks to be in good shape honestly. -

6 likesI agree but they have very different approaches to their art and how they release albums. For Taylor everything has to be calculated and announced at the right time for the shock value and hype it generates. Lana on the other hand just makes music for the sake of it and releases/announces it as soon as she's allowed to. I don't think she even has a the concept of an "era" in her mind anymore when starting an album cycle. For example all the snippets in the NFR weren't (in my opinion of course) a way of creating hype or promoting the music to come but more of a general "look at what I recorded and I'm proud of". When she said she wanted to release a surprise album at some point I don't think she meant it as a way of shocking people either but more of a way to freely release anything she wanted without all the promo and stuff related to an album release. I don't think any of their ways are right or wrong tho, just very different approaches to music as a career

6 likesIt’s such a fever dream to me that I actually went to Urban Outfitters for the early release party thinking it’d be a party but they really just had the album playing on the speakers so my embarrassed ass had to stand by one of the store corners trying to properly hear the album while workers kept coming up asking if I needed any help and I had to say “no thank you just listening to a new album you’re playing” anyway, Religion is a top tier song

6 likesAlso I'm an UV hoe through and through forever but I love how it obviously matters to Lana to the point that she only use the hm account on insta now like this name and the album associated to it obviously mean a lot to her it's so sweet. Aaah I hope she comes on here today and see how much this album means to us

6 likesFor real, I was listening to the Complete playlist on Spotify today, and I remembered how angry I was for missing the tracklist reveal on here cause I had no internet lol, and it was my first era since becoming a stan in December 2014 so I was particularly sad. And if many eras came afterwards, HM will forever be my first era and 2015 was the best and worst year of my life simultaneously and I'm so happy to have had the luck to experience it with HM as a soundtrack. When I first read the tracklist I had a solid hunch that Salvatore would be my fav and guess what Mimi 7y later it still is Thank you again Lana for a gorgeous piece of musical art

6 likeshappy birthday to my favorite record of all time <3 i was only 17 years old when Lana released Honeymoon. And funnily enough, I was right in my Honeymoon phase of my first ever relationship. Sometimes I still think about how I would take the train to see my ex-boyfriend, and during those 60 minutes it took me to get to Zurich, I'd have Honeymoon on repeat - first the song, later the entire album when it was released. 2015 was an unusually hot summer, so I associate the record with a breeding and sweltering heat. HM was also the first album I have ever bought on vinyl (the red version!). I was so in love with the album photoshoot, I decided I need the huge ass booklet, so naturally, I also had to buy a record player to listen to the album. In the end, Honeymoon was the album that turned me into a true stan. At the time I loved UV but didn't care all that much for BTD or Paradise, so this album was either going to make or break Lana for me. She delivered an immaculate album, and with that, my life truly changed, as cheesy as it sounds. I made many, many amazing friends at Lana's shows which I wouldn't have gone to otherwise. I travelled so many places in Europe I would have otherwise never gone to, and it ignited my passion of travelling as a whole. So many beautiful memories were made during the Honeymoon era, and I look back fondly and with nostalgia on that time. Love you, Lanz

6 likesHappy birthday, Honeymoon! you came out exactly when I needed you: it was the warmest / hottest fall ever, the light was so golden in the morning, perfect for my morning car rides to work. little did I know that you’d become my security blanket, my only comfort, when I lost my mom in the three months following your release. You were and are still perfect to me. I may not go back to you as often as I used to but when the feeling’s right, you hit hard. Swan Song was the last one from this album I fell in love with. But when it met what I was living, god did it hit hard!!!

It’s a side angle and she looks fine 💀 I honestly think she looks the healthiest she has ever done- I just don’t personally like many of her style choices but she likes them. -

6 likeslana did not even break onto the scene until 5-6 years into taylor's career & other than "wildest dreams" & "cardigan" taylor has not even taken much inspiration from lana let alone ripped her off. they have both taken inspiration from many of the same musicians throughout their careers like bob dylan, the beatles & fleetwood mac. being inspired by the same old musicians is not ripping each other off. many modern musicians look to the same old ones for inspiration. we can dislike another musician while still being civil. we would not like if someone made the same accusation about lana.

5 likesthe thread is dead, so I’ll take a few guesses on what the “Rockefeller” snippet is about based on what little we heard Interpretation 1: She’s likening her lover to John D. Rockefeller in the same way she would compare her significant others to figures of Americana (like JFK). -If this is the case, this man is the “umbrella” that shields from the hardships of her life. The last word appears to either be “sorry” or “story” (storyteller, possibly?). With this in mind, maybe she wronged this man and is apologizing or he is a storyteller in the sense that he crafts together lies to feed her. This concept reminds me a lot of the themes in Born To Die, actually. Interpretation 2: “Rockefeller” is a metaphor for her wealth/fame—also because of John D. Rockefeller. -Perhaps the umbrella of money and renown protects her in a more tangible sense, but despite her “God, I love you baby” directed to it, the darker tone suggests a less healthy relationship. Perhaps this is almost like a bridge between Money Power Glory’s sarcastic approach to wealth and infamy and the somber longing expressed for her pre-frame days in White Dress. Interpretation 3: She’s actually saying “my own brother” instead of “my umbrella,” possibly suggesting a Sweet-Carolina-esque nod to her “baby” brother Charlie Grant. -The more dissonant melody in the snippet paired with possibility of her saying, “Sorry,” at the end makes me wonder if it’s almost a WFWF situation where she revisits something from their childhood. Then again, maybe she just threw in the line to paint the picture of her current life which seems to be very family-centered as of late (like how she vaguely mentions Chuck in COCC). Let me know if you have any thoughts or other possible explanations!
