when she samples the "no holds barred, I've been sent to destroy" part of MTWBT and my soul leaves my body

I love Courtney Love to death but there’s no way she introduced Lana to Joni Mitchell…Lana first mentioned Joni Mitchell in this 2014 interview and stated in this 2019 interview that she heard Joni’s name brought up constantly and “didn’t really start listening to too much of it until college”, which would’ve been well before she met Courtney.

Now which one of you is messing with the music registry and posting titles that don't even make grammatical sense? "while his deep sea fishing"

Coming from him it must be a coded message, I'm sure he knows perfectly well that Lana has already sampled herself. He probably means she did it again on this upcoming album.

has anyone made the connection between her W magazine quote & this line in HBTB? I know they’ve been mentioned individually today but wasn’t sure. I doubt this is significant but still a neat concept if she samples either/both of them

it’s march 10th 0:00 you press play on “did you know that there’s a tunnel under ocean blvd” you hear the BTD strings intro on The Grants you immediately start crying

The HBTB theory simultaneously feels plausible and a huge stretch at the same time...guess it's real!

Courtney love always takes credit for people that are far more talented than hers accomplishments, this is nothing new

I feel like the next single will sample an older song… And unless it’s been explained before, Eclipse was referencing, prior to the title track being released, that one of his first posts here was the lyrics to HBTB… and it’s the last post on her official account : a reference to HBTB. edit: the long-ass acronym song has a Maritime reference and hints at some things she wants to say to critics. And HBTB is well very much maritime (duh) and is, in parts, about paparazzi…

For the sake of rewriting history, this should be the most up-to-date list of SYTH versions • Ultraviolence Version 1 [2013] (Rick Nowels & Patrick Warren) — Unleaked // Edited version, 4:10 • Ultraviolence Version 2 [2013] (Rick Nowels & Patrick Warren) — 4:10 • Ultraviolence Version 3 [2014] (James Ford) — Unleaked (Rumored to be considered for inclusion on Chemtrails) • Ultraviolence Final [2014] (Dan Auerbach) — Unleaked • Honeymoon Demo [2015] (STINT) — 3:31 • Honeymoon Final [2015] (STINT & Rick Nowels) — Tagged, 3:35 • Various Lust for Life Versions [2015/2016] - Unleaked • Blue Banisters Version — Unleaked

say yes to allah, say yes to me... the song has been whored around and no one was able to get it quite right it's just a BAD song. recycled boring lyrics, boring vocal performance, cute melody and that's it... where is the same effort and attention to FINE GRAMMYS? if this didn't make it onto cocc/bb then i can only pray she finally laid it to rest... the one i leakedT? no thats from 2013

Thinking about how she described Blue Banisters as an album of "where we've been, where we are now, and where we're going" I really think that the three singles, Black Bathing Suit, and Arcadia are the parts of the album that reflect where we're going with this new record Where we've been: Living Legend Cherry Blossom If You Lie Down With Me Thunder Nectar of the Gods Where we are now (at that moment) Beautiful Dealer Violets for Roses Sweet Carolina Interlude Where we're going (deeper dives into her karmic lineage, much more abstract/obscure lyricism, very diaristic) Text Book Wildflower Wildfire Black Bathing Suit Arcadia Blue Banisters Thinking about it this way has me appreciating that record even more in excitement for this one

I need her to serve another "i'm scared of the santa clarita fires, i wish that it would raaaaaain! " broadway vocal moment on this record

When we expected soft rock and ballads and she brings back the trap beats I think it's just going to be something subtle like a chord progression and that's it. Maybe it's so subtle that BOZ only realized now and that's why he teased it today

I wonder if he means sample as in "literally picking something from another song and using it there" or more of an interpolation borrowing a melody (which would be more exciting in my opinion and she also does it a lot with her unreleased stuff). And yes he's 100% dropping clues cause he knows well there are already clear examples (like the obvious HTD/WAH and FMWUTT/UV)

so is this a genuine question or is he being cryptic about her sampling herself on the album… i can’t tell if it’s “Has Lana ever sampled her own song before? 😉” or if he is really just asking randomly lmao

When Lana samples the video of her singing God Knows I Tried from when she was in Italy at the church in the Ultraviolence video

Imagine she samples an AKA song mermaid motel or brite lites mixed with a mind numbing bass that shatters windows

or maybe she shouldn't risk her managers getting the website taken down? i honestly think it's a sensible rule that we shouldn't link downloads to her officially-released material, especially when they're leaks which haven't been released yet

I dont get why so many of you believe we won’t get anything else until release… A second single is almost certainty, there are hints at an Interview mag cover… Plus the tracklist… Music industry pauses everything for the holidays, and yet people her want her to post something / tease something or have the insiders spill

so you’re telling me that the switch up from MAC and Venice Bitch to the rest of NFR is because of Courtney Love… hold me back im serious

According to Honeymoun it must be something like this: Version 1: Original Rick Demo (2013) Version 2: Patrick Warren string arrangement version (2013) Version 3: James Ford demo, leaked by MusicMafia (2014) AKA the best version by a lot of insiders and the one that was considered for COCC Version 4: STINT Demo (2015) [this one I feel a bit weird because the MM version sounds way better, but it might be a demo for a reason] And the unleaked would be: 2013-2014: Dan Auerbach rework 2015: STINT final version (?) 2015-2016: Sent to a bunch of producers during the early LFL Sessions 2020-2021: Reworked BB version Shotout to PlasticGuy for also delivering on this mix, the only version that can compete with the MusicMafia one

Appreciation post for the first verse of Heroin: Topanga is hot tonight, the city by the bay Has movie stars and liquor stores and soft decay The rumblin' from distant shores sends me to sleep But the facts of life can sometimes make it hard to dream Life rocked me like Mötley Grabbed me by the ribbons in my hair Life rocked me ultra softly Like the heavy metal that you wear

I just can't believe she's even acknowledging Honeymoon. I remember there being a few years of speculation towards her possibly "hating" the album, because she would never perform songs from it live. Now I believe it's her two favorite records are Norman and Honeymoon

i don't think courtney love should be considered to be the most reliable lol

Ouuuu this getting good so courtney is once again a liar? Doesnt surprise me. If i remember correctly Court shit talked lana a few years back. Like right after the endless summer tour iirc. But things are tied back up now, especially considering the "court almost burnt down my home" line. Unless that line wasn't a playful poke like we thought

tbh I think this is a big lie, because if Lana only knew Joni's music after recording VB and MAC in 2018, she wouldn't have done Bartender in 2017 (non conventional structure and the "ladies of the canyon" lyric...) no way Lana didn't know who Joni Mitchell is lol

I’m back bitches and dying for this album rn I feel like we’re gonna get a honeymoon freak into art deco type transition from the title track because of how abruptly DYK cuts off/ends lana is back bitches

Wait didn’t someone say the weepy lilted western string sound from Crazy For You was also used in various Honeymoon tracks including HBTB? OMG it really is all coming together

SZA’s most recent album cover is a homage to Princess Diana. I didn’t really see anyone calling her a copy cat or anything like that for going that route. I think most people are fine with homages as long as they are well executed.
