Hi all, I wanted to check in with you all about the recent rise in drama that the mod team and I have noticed over the past couple of weeks. It appears that drama on the site among members is at a peak, so I wanted to pop in and remind you all that LanaBoards won't tolerate certain types of behaviour. It seems that the drama is especially high in other artists' threads and in world news threads, especially when it comes to hot-topic debates. While LanaBoards welcomes opinions and discussions of different viewpoints, it is important that these opinions are shared and discussed in a respectful manner. As stated in our rules, LanaBoards will not tolerate any posts that are meant to be purposely inflammatory (flaimbaiting to intentionally start an argument) rude, hateful, insulting, or otherwise crossing a line, and members violating this rule will be warned and given restrictions at our discretion. This is something the moderator team is going to be taking very seriously as it is our mission to have LanaBoards be a safe and welcoming space for all. Something we've especially been noticing a rise in is personal attacks towards other members and people including other artists, which is something we won't tolerate. Let this serve as a reminder that behind the usernames and profile pictures, we are all real people with real feelings. There's no need to make things personal. Please be mindful and respectful of this when communicating with other members. Again, we do welcome varying opinions and healthy, constructive debates, but please keep these respectful. Think before you press reply. Something else to keep in mind is that not all intense debates need to be made public, especially if they're veering off-topic of the thread. We encourage users to make use of our personal messaging system to have private discussions, but again, please keep these respectful. We understand that news is slow at the moment on the Lana front so tensions are a little high, but please don't let this translate into disrespect towards others. Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns - you all should feel comfortable to reach out to me or another staff member at any time about anything. Why the fuck would they have open convention. All polls show that Kamala is clearly the most favourite out of all other options. An open convention will create internal infighting that will only further undermine trust in the Dems and would increase Trump’s chances even more. Kamala is the VP, she has been campaigning already, just get her on the fucking ticket

It’s pretty unlikely that all of these are to be true, but a few may end up happening after Biden appears to soon announce his departure from the 2024 US Presidential Race. This comes after weeks of pressure from Barack Obama, Nancy Pelosi, Chuck Schumer, dozens of congressional Democrats, and some White House aides, arguing to Biden that staying in the race will not only lose them the presidency, but many downballot races in the country, just a few of which could dictate which party holds the House and the Senate. Biden has been resistant, but cratering polls, his terrible debate performance, the assassination attempt of Donald Trump, and his recent COVID-19 diagnosis have only burdened him more to drop out. If the DNC does decide to do an open convention, it would be pretty crazy to see who would throw their hat in the ring. According to this source, Democrats are looking at Democratic governors for a potential VP, as Kamala Harris would probably still be the most favored for the presidency at an open convention. Andy Beshear, Josh Shapiro, Gavin Newsom, or JB Pritzker could all join Kamala in the convention. Biden would have to release his delegates from the primaries earlier this year so that they can vote for someone else. Instead of endorsing anyone, they may just let the delegates decide who becomes VP. Can I just say how eerily similar this feels like the 1968 Democratic National Convention? Incumbent president not standing at their own convention, held in Chicago, a Kennedy running, rising tensions after the (actual) assassination of a presidential candidate…

Tbh her label has been pretty flexible with her considering her messy rollouts and they have let her release a "DIY" type album Blue Banisters, not that I hate it, but in a way that they let her release an album which consisted screen recorded unreleased songs from YouTube. She admitted in 2016 as well that she can do whatever she wants because her label is flexible idk.

i know kamala harris isn't perfect, but she's certainly much better than trump, and certainly more competent than biden, i don't really care who the president is, as long as they can do their job and go about their job with decency and class, but i really want to see a woman become president at some point, i think it would be quite awesome

Tbh none of know the extent of the relationship between Charli and Dashanalamadingdong. We know Charli did like, what, a feature on a podcast or something? And it's my understanding that Dashanalamadingdong said herself that "this song is about me" with literally no evidence to support it. I know there's pictures of me with people I hate. Being around/loosely associated with people for career or contractual obligations doesn't mean you support that person or their beliefs. At all. This whole controversy is as tired as I am.

I mean it is weird to make a song about such a problematic person. Mean Girls is great, one of my faves and to me it sounds like uplifting women who get labeled problematic, mean and bitchy but in actuality aren't. Something you can't say about Dasha, so I don't know why of all people she decided to namedrop her in interviews, she even mentions Garbiette as an example of those mean girls. Just namedrop her instead and save yourself the backlash. Or explicitly mention that you were fascinated by her and her looks, but don't agree with the things she says. The way Nicki, Kanye and even Harry Potter fans explain their love for their works. We would call out someone making a song glorifying Trump, Weinstein or Dahmer. Why should Charli be free from criticism?

I’m hopeful he drops out and im ready to vote for pretty much anyone who’s decided to be the candidate but the writing was on the wall months ago and he should’ve dropped out for a full primary to play out and let the people decide the candidate. theres nothing we can do about it now though we’re just existing in the context of all in which we live and came before us
