I’m wondering if they just acquired the stems and decided we wanted to hear all the little details unmixed... personally could live without it and would much rather care for the stems but I won’t complain!! This will just continue to remind me how immaculate this album is. Truly a modern relic.

When the Beach Boys were working on Pet Sounds, their label needed an album out for the holidays, but Brian Wilson refused to rush his masterpiece, so they had to quickly put together something else. So they recorded an unplugged cover album, then brought some friends in to record talking and giggling and stuff to add to the tracks, took some pictures playing at the beach, and quickly put together “Beach Boys Party!” in time for the holidays. When Lana first mentioned the idea of “Pacific Blue”, I had brought up how I wished Lana would do something like what The Beach Boys did, but that she probably wouldn’t..... I just remembered that now and realized that now she’s doing exactly that...... freaky

For like over half a year I thought in Heroin she was saying "grandma bought me the ribbons in my hair" like she was reminiscent about being young and innocent when her grandma got her ribbons. The realization 8 months later when genius called me a dumb bitch cause the lyrics were actually "grabbed me by the ribbons in my hair"

i love marina but it's quite funny how fast she moved on from L+F considering how long she goes between album cycles, i almost feel bad cause of how aware she is. it's for the best tho, she spent too long on it and stripped it of all it's promising qualities. this new album was made over the past year(?) and the concept is something she's always been passionate about so it'll be a serve.

I'm full-in on a covers album. And with her name dropping Patsy Cline ❤❤❤❤ I mean, I love so many of her songs, I wouldn't even know where to start; I Fall To Pieces, Walkin' After Midnight, She's Got You, Crazy, Back In Baby's Arms just to name a few. I'm hoping she covers Crazy or She's Got You, but Back In Baby's Arms is a rare gem of a track. I think it's a bit too fast for Lana, she would probably slow it down. Anyways, super excited for this album (assuming it actually happens)

I was super super skeptical, until she posted that video of her singing the hymn and mentioning being in the studio for the album! Now if it actually comes out December, that’s still to be known or not! I can’t see it being delayed though, because it’s not like she’s actually writing the music, just covering it!

I feel like Marina's lost her edge a bit when it comes to writing songs geared more towards political/social commentary. Sex Yeah was a great representation of what she's capable of, but songs like Savages and To Be Human feel a bit watered down, and surface level. I feel like once she gave up that angrier edge that Electra Heart offered, she lost some of that bite with it. She wants to be deep and make a statement, but it feels like she's trying too hard to be nice about it. She wants to make a statement without stepping on anyone's toes.

God I'm living for this album, WHERE IS IT? Honestly I think I want this one more than COCC.
