a reason why im literally obsessed with the album cover for this album is because she's got that far off gaze in her face where she's looking at the camera with a slight tilt to her head almost giving off a bit of an attitude, she looks almost pissed off, extremely tired of the bullshit and even a little smug.. but there's also a lot of sadness there too... she has this exact same look on the ultraviolence album cover too, except she's tilting her head in the opposite direction. i feel weird cus this is a random observation but i finally figured out why i love the BB album cover and its because she looks the same way she does on the UV cover , classic lana

Via Stereogum: iiiii is beautiful in the same way her 2017 self-titled album was — lots of piano and muffled choral runs, plus there’s a track with the legend Ryuichi Sakamoto. It’s an appropriate, meditative conclusion to the project as a whole. So the piano Kick wasn't cancelled

producers: david kahne, dan auerbach, and nigel godrich lol themes: projections and sex symbols and elvis and dreams and paradise being a hell-coloured flame sky sound: ambient and jazz-infused glam metal. Lana Del Ray but even harder and softer

umm bb version's of thunder rly was made for dysfunctional families during the holiday season - it is just perfect against the backdrop of a tense dining table and bubbling violence

I think that, with the messy rollout this era has had, it's possible that Shinigami Eyes was not scrapped *completely*, just delayed. Player of Games is a single for this soundtrack, wasn't it? Maybe Shinigami Eyes is the proper lead single while this is going to be a promo single included in the album or something... with her I don't know what to think anymore

The fact that Lana hasn't teased anything yet is kind of shocking. Maybe she's trying to be a bit quieter about this album until it's ready? It's kind of exciting to be honest. There's so many different possibilities for what the album could sound like based on the producers we know of alone.

Praying that the If You Lie Down With Me video she mentioned doesn't join Cherry, Dark Paradise, Cola and Change/Get Free in the forgotten videos morgue

What I think happened is that once again she decided to do the music video by herself (Or with her brother) and it ended up being too complicated and we will end up seeing the Shinigami Lies music video in three years

ADIAML title track still one of the best songs released this year but overall ADIAML’s a 6/10 for me. I do still think a good deluxe could improve this album a lot but I feel like she’s just gonna tack a few new slow songs at the end of the album & it won’t really have much impact. Like literally all this album needs for me to make it a Good album is a few more upbeat songs like ADIAML and Venus Fly Trap (or sonically like New America/PTP but NOT with those corny ass lyrics) & a better tracklist order.

do they tho? to me they seem extremely generic... like these are literally high schoolers level lyrics, they're very shallow and there's nothing more to them than what they seem...

Without exaggeration, it is my favorite album cover she has ever done. I never get more than the CD but this era I ordered every vinyl and CD. I love it so much.

it's crazy strangely beautiful to think how she's sorta mothered an entire generation without having much of a mother herself (from what we know anyway)

it's her and her sister chuck. it's a shot from the BB music video where the line "chucky's making birthday cake" is referenced and they're baking a cake. it's a mixing bowl not a trophy haha. the cat is lana's lil guy

I still have hope she’ll completely surprise release an album one day: no prior singles, no hints, etc. The thought of waking up to a Lana album without any preconceived notions of it…amazing. Then again, I want her to get her money’s worth with the promotion she does do, but a gay can dream

i want to talk to whoever runs ldrvillage. these busted designs don’t represent anything to do with the blue banisters era at all. like, they’re literally horrendous? new merch drops every other day but it’s just 2012 and 2015 pics with LANA DEL REY pasted on it. like ? we couldn’t get a Black Bathing Suit with a cute lana logo embroidered on it? a normal t shirt with the album cover on it? they couldn’t have done something like Taylor did with the all too well notebook for Text Book? a cute little litho of a map of la with some lana design? red cowboy boots? a ‘Hot Coffee’ thermos? sorry for the angry post, and i know merch isn’t that big of a deal, but the quality of this stuff sucks ass. to think this is the same person that was selling Coke spoons back in 2015, it seems as though she doesn’t even look at what is being released now and it’s frustrating because there’s so much potential. i’d rather have 10 merch pieces that reflect the era and are designed well, than have 10 merch items drop every 4 days that look as though they were made in 2 minutes on Picsart

"KicK iii sounds unhinged in the best way possible. It’s music to feel indestructible to, a mode that Arca does like almost no other. Over the past decade, Arca has built herself up to be simultaneously sensitive and intimidating — there’s plenty of vulnerability displayed throughout the rest of these albums, but iii surrounds her with bulletproof glass." "iiii is the most adventurous, mesmerizing and porous — check out the xx-adjacent “Boquifloja.” There’s also a spoken word pump-up courtesy of Garbage’s Shirley Manson and a hypnotic guest appearance from New York experimentalist No Bra. iiiii is beautiful in the same way her 2017 self-titled album was — lots of piano and muffled choral runs, plus there’s a track with the legend Ryuichi Sakamoto. It’s an appropriate, meditative conclusion to the project as a whole." https://www.stereogum.com/2168777/arca-kick-iii-review/reviews/album-of-the-week/

Maybe it’ll be a Blue Banisters situation where we have a chunk of tracks by one main producer (potentially Mike Dean??) and a handful of songs by another (Antonoff?). I don’t know, though! I find it interesting that Emile Haynie and Mike Dean were meeting, though. The flowers on Haynie’s story almost make me think they don’t meet often, and I like to think they’d get together for Lana…or so I hope

Same here. While Lana’s notoriously misleading with her descriptions, I think that’d be nice hype fuel. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a country record aside from the covers album, but Mike Dean saying they’ll be working together in the future really muddies that idea. She’s always full of surprises lol

kick ii is underwhelming for now, none of the other songs clicked with me the way prada and rakata did, also the 2nd half sounds just messy... still can't wait for other KICKs tho, but im really scared all of them sound this way. Thank god there's still 3 of them coming bc i'd be really disappointed

she actually considered them country songs... i actually see what she means? they don't necessarily sound like country songs but i can see the influence, although i would agree that video games is more "folk" if anything
