12 likesLana and I met, and similar to what I was describing with Claire, we kind of had this magic and pretty quickly had written and recorded, what was almost the entirety of "Norman Rockwell" (her previous album) and many other songs. A lot of of things ended up on "Chemtrails," and a lot of things haven't been released. And it's because in the period that we were first working together, it was like three things happened. There were these songs that we just called the "Norman" songs, because they just have this very distinct feeling to them. There were these even more quiet songs happening, and then there were these really bombastic songs, which didn't really fit anywhere....The songs that lived in a more quiet place, that was the bedrock for "Chemtrails." We did way more work, but she always has this thing of having the next album going before the one that's finished, and that was the case.

9 likesManifesting a Honeymoon and early LFL lovechild for the next album. Full jazz with some synthy, soft pop elements. Some classic rock elements thrown in could be cool too. It'll be fun to see what Lana does next, seeing her hinting at things that are part of the project (DNC jacket) makes it so much fun to look forward to. I love it when Lana's vocal and excited about the work she's putting out, it makes everything so much better

Honeymoon deserved the same acclaim as NFR — but I get it, not everyone that is paid to “critique” has the insight to understand complex bodies of work. -
7 likesIt's not my fault that you have a reputation for being a fake insider, if you don't like it then stop being one In general, I would just really appreciate an era where it wasn't surrounded by lies and people trying to get attention through lying. And this goes for everyone (if you think this applies to you, that says more about you than it does me). Also, I'm hot and fun and my pronouns are she/they. Kisses

7 likes'violet bent backwards over the grass' is such a beautiful record even if she doesn't sing on it. i connect so deeply to lana's poetry, both the deep poems & the cute ones. and her speaking voice is so soothing and i love the parts where she adds a little extra emphasis to some lines. and of clurse the instumentals are so atmospheric & lynchian. its just so precious to me. like an old friend. and i love the book too but there's just something so emotional about listening to the record. i will never be able to fully communicate how grateful i am for this album and i'm really looking forward to her next spoken word album especially if it has more longer unhinged poems bc those are really something special.

7 likesI love love love beautiful for what it means to her (and her voice and the twinkly piano are obviously beautiful too) but I agree it could have been fluffed up a little more before going on the album cuz rn it kinda sounds like it’s from a musical which is not really my vibe BUT hear me out: I think we’d enjoy it more if we didn’t get it on the album but perhaps Lana surprise dropped it w/ a simple heartfelt homemade video a la HIADT on the uhauljoe channel or one of her inactive twitters (and it doesn’t go on streaming bc it’s not officially “released”, just something she wanted to share).. it could have clips of her painting, typing on her little typewriter, writing in a diary, scrolling thru her social media mentions and sipping coffee, working in the studio etc, just to really highlight her POV.. tbh now that I think about it it kinda feels like a distant relative of Hope, maybe she could even splice some quick clips from that video in there too like her manically running around the house.. lol now I want this video why did I do this to myself

this might not be unpopular but i really miss lana having a big fashion moment, like full glam, hair up to the gods, even if it's just for a magazine photoshoot. we had a good run with them in lfl era but it seems to me that everything nfr onwards killed glam lana (and many other aspects of her as well ). it makes me kinda sad that she's not into those fashion moments anymore bc she really pulled it off -

6 likesI can relate to The Greatest so so much recently Also this song is actually really beautiful & so good. The way it strips down towards the end & ends with the beautiful piano. It might be my new favourite song on NFR. I can't believe I used to slander this song & said it sounds like a fart..like were I deaf or what The Greatest is a career highlight, a classic & truly has become a very personal song for me

Both Ultraviolence and Honeymoon deserve as much, if not more recognition from the industry than NFR. -

6 likesI thought this was funny. "Thanks to the swift and harsh feedback of social media, many artists are given a chance to correct their terrible album covers before they even get released. In 2021, Lana Del Rey pivoted after fans roasted her ghastly first draft of Blue Banisters" https://exclaim.ca/music/article/worst_album_covers_of_2021

5 likesWhat I can say about NFR at this point is: The fact that this album still literally moves the sea, the winds, the oceanic salty air, the seaside apartment complex, the whole "Long Beach" atmosphere, the whole surf culture lifestyle, etc to where i'm living now everytime i play it is so madly surreal. Like, I feel like I'm breathing California air despite being depressed in my room all day long. It's like Lana does have wirchcraft for real, its crazy.

5 likesBlack Bathing Suit just gets better and better on every listen. Every time I listen to that song it's like it's the first time. For me, most of the songs on this album have been sounding so fresh lately. The only ones that haven't done that for me are Living Legend, Nectar and Cherry Blossom, but I think that's just because they're so familiar to me since they leaked so long ago.

5 likesOk hands down Blue Banisters has become my favourite album of hers I didn't expect it to happen when I listened to it for the first time but the album truly was a grower & clicked with me on my second & third listen and got better with each listen since then Every song is so good & stunning, no skips, I love the production on this album a lot. Text Book is definetly the best produced on this album , the production is phenomal & the outro is stunning & so beautiful but I also I love the raw sound of Black Bathing Suit for example Some of my favourite unreleased made its way on the album & I'm so happy & thankful for that especially for Nectar I don't know how to explain but this album feels like homecoming to me. Some things plus the unreleased songs remind me of old Lana but we also have new stories & things about Lana that remind me of Lana post LFL

Honeymoon would have gotten similar level acclaim to NFR! if it was released afterwards, or at a further point in Lana’s career. Lana’s recent work has been either some of her best, or some of her worst. (In my opinion, of course). I’ll never actually hate anything she puts out, but I definitely feel like the peaks of Chemtrails and peaks of Blue Banisters could have been combined into an even better album without the weaker tracks. I believe this has happened because she is so quickly coming up with ideas and concepts for her albums in the last few years, that she doesn’t properly sift through the tracks and leave certain ones out, and create an album of perfection like she did when she released every 2 years. Not to say that Chemtrails and Blue Banisters aren’t perfect or good, but in my opinion they’re not on the same level as previous records and the short period of time between them and NFR! is clear in their execution. For example, in my opinion White Dress, Not All Who Wander Are Lost, Yosemite, Dance Till We Die, Black Bathing Suit, If You Lie Down With Me, Dealer, Thunder, Nectar Of The Gods, Living Legend, Cherry Blossom and Sweet Carolina are some of the best songs she’s released in her career. However, most of these are old songs that she’s left unchanged. And in my opinion, Text Book, Arcadia, Beautiful, Violets For Roses, Let Me Love You Like A Woman and Breaking Up Slowly while mostly good - are some of the most boring and uninteresting songs she’s released in her career. They’re good, not bad, but compared to her discography, they’re not interesting. I hope for the next album, she either does a full 180 in sound and goes in a new direction, or takes a break (not long, just a year or two) to refine and polish the album -
4 likesI would like to take a moment to publicly thank you @Stargirls Dealer for being such a generous queen & giving me this crazy opportunity I always dreamed about what it would be like to maybe win one of these someday, but I never thought it actually would have happened. *sobbing in Taylor Swift's voice*
