20 likesKinda related to this, I've been think how much hate Lana used to get in 2020/2021, like constant viral hate tweets and all that calling her racist, a republican, a karen... and even bodyshaming her. One year later all she gets is praise again and she's repeaking in popularity (obviously she still gets some small amount of hate like all artists do). That show us how people on social media just jump on "hate trends" and don't even care why or how until they get bored or forget and jump onto the next one

15 likesSometimes I get so stunned by how such an artist like lana even exists. She's one of the real artists that will be remembered for many generations. She captures the feelings of a large group of people with a very distinct way of thinking. Even if her songwriting is very specific to herself it still has a huge impact on our lives and emotions because it feels like she's part of oneself. That's why i'm so confident in this record and everything that follows after that. It's just all meant to be and she's part of something greater than herself.

15 likesNot every single album from an artist is going to be a streamings juggernaut 2021 were her pandemic albums: little promotion, purely released just for the music - every artist has these kinds of releases, it's fine Clearly this next record seems like one that she will be more passionate in promoting

14 likesI think that the way Lana dresses during each era reflects the mood of her music. BTD she was the glamorous pop starlet constantly serving flashy looks. Paradise was the same but with a bit more of a tropical vibe. Ultraviolet she was the denim and leather rocker chick. Honeymoon she was feminine and sophisticated, old Hollywood glamour and always looking mysterious hiding behind giant sunglasses. Lust for Life she was all flower power in crochet mini dresses and 60's and 70's colors and styles. NFR she was a California beach bum in denim cutoffs and swimsuits and tshirts. Chemtrails and BB she was kind of anti-glamour, wearing flannels etc, reflecting the more folky and serious sounds. Now seeing her at the Gucci party dancing to Summertime Sadness remix, and seeing her dressing up in high fashion for her shoot for W Magazine, and reading how she is feeling like she is "allowed" to have fun with fashion again, I can tell something shifted in her mood. I think all signs point to a more high glamour, cinematic, dramatic, fun and maximalist album.

it’s the fact she barely even sings half of it, she just screams “WHAT!” “YEAH!” while going absolutely apeshit on stage because the whole crowd just takes over, it’s iconic every time -
14 likesLana has quite a catalog at this point, she's done a little bit of everything and done most of it very well. She's proven to the world that she can do it all. I, personally, would not want her music to continue to get heavier and heavier in the 'Hope' and 'WFWF' vein, though some tracks like that, I'd welcome, if sincere. 'BBS' was so fun, and 'Arcadia' and 'COCC' were too in their own way. I wouldn't mind seeing some lighter pop material like 'Radio,' 'National Anthem,' and 'American.' I thought Lorde did a great job of balancing the heavy and the light on 'Solar Power,' with 'Mood Ring,' 'The Path,' 'California,' and the title track.

14 likesi have to say though… i feel like “old lana” is whats getting popular right now. i dont see any songs from chemtrails or bb going viral or any recent pictures of lana being used in these trends which is unfortunate. its all about the nymphet/girly aesthetics and lana’s direction doesn’t fit into that anymore. so i wonder if her upcoming releases will be bigger in response to the virality of it all or if her core fans will make up the majority of listeners.

12 likesSince beginning of 2022 Lana has gained: - highest daily streaming - highest streaming numbers of certain songs/albums - surpassed fucking Adele on Spotify Global Charts - numerous tiktok viral hits - surpassed 23M monthly listeners for the fourth time of her career - her private ig (now public) has a post (Peach Fuzz) hits >900k likes while this account only has 1M followers at the time. For someone like Lana, she is doing insane numbers at this point - we can tell that this is hype season for her, the demand is no joke. She & her team better play the cards right, LDR9 could be as huge as L4L or NFR. Dare I even say: BTD! (with its 10th anniversary coming up)

11 likesSo the interesting question is, will LDR9 start a new trilogy like NFR did or define a whole new decade like BTD? I feel there's something big in preparation.

10 likesi like to think about how she's dressing & her hair and makeup when she's actually making the album – aka. usually what she looks like on tour. many outfits, especially the later ones, of the paradise tour really embody ultraviolence to me. the eye makeup also became the classic uv smoky eye. the outfits for the endless summer tour scream honeymoon glamour and class, especially with the long hair and big curls and soft, simpler makeup. the 2016 festival tour outfits remind me of lfl with the flowers and birds in her hair and loose sundresses and the moon belt etc etc. some of the lfl and post-lfl outfits remind me of the LA summertime thing nfr had going on. nfr tour outfits absolutely SCREAM chemtrails to me - folky, lacy dresses, some long, with cowboy booties and leather and midwestern aesthetics. since she hasn't toured in a while it's a bit hard to tell, but thinking about her outfits a few months ago, i remember them being sort of soft and warm and flowery (but also cleavage and fun outfits and more interesting choices outside of just jeans and a t-shirt) so that's what i'm thinking this album will be if she made it then. also because of album releases right after each other it's a little hard to tell when she even could've been making this album (or if she's STILL making it. which is what i think). but if anyone has any ideas then the clothes around that time might give some sort of idea

10 likesWhen she said wordy I thought of Blue Bannisters or Hope is a Dangerous Thing. Also hoping for a bit more glamour from this one though. The way Ben praised it twice implies that he really thinks this album is something special. I can't ever remember Ben gloating about Lana to that extent for any of her past albums.

10 likesAm I the only one who thinks Lust for Life started the “new” Lana? Less melancholic sounds and lyricisms.. plus she even said herself multiple times during 2017 that it’s completely different for her

10 likesIt's mostly BTD and UV but NFR became her 2nd (?) most streamed album recently and the numbers are insane so at least she won't just be the BTD girl BB also had a cute moment with Dealer at least. And about the pictures I totally agree and I hate it. It's always BTD Lana and even worse... obvious edits of models bodies with her face

There's no chance in hell that K-12 could've been completed in 2016. It took several months for just the Mad Hatter video, and then the Timothy stuff happened. I still don't blame Timothy at all, and I think she's unjustly criticized for what went down, but it definitely had a large impact on K-12 with cast/crew from the "1.0" demo shoot dropping out from the project and forcing rewrites (removing Johnny's storyline and introducing Ben). And then she made bad financial decisions like the choice of venue, causing more rewrites (no gym set for Strawberry Shortcake, plotlines being drastically reduced to stay within budget). The circumstances basically beat K-12 into something that's visually interesting at times but isn't good as a film nor visual album. OT: Cry Baby is a great record, and I get why she wanted to continue that world she created. However, sticking to her guns with the semi-sexualized childhood aesthetic for Album 2 was a terrible choice and I think forcing albums into a chapter-by-chapter story is going to wear her out and lead to subpar results (which some have argued is true already for K-12 and the leaked MM3 demos). Maybe it would've been more creatively profitable to tell new stories with each album, instead of relying on character arcs and lore developments from the previous ones. -

9 likesMaybe not as full out pop maximalism as some of the songs on BTD, but I'm thinking she'll meet somewhere in the middle. The lyricism and maturity of her new work, with the cinematic grandiosity of her old work. She did say that there will be full orchestras on this one. And the way she's dressing now, she just gives the feeling like she's ready to have fun again and do something big. You don't have to agree with me, but I can just feel it.

@LMAlejandro when is i’m done remaster coming i’ve listened to that 50 sec snippet 600 times -
9 likesi think we'll get 14 tracks, no interlude, the first song will be the title of the album with a closing track that is a cover of Dream A Little Dream Of Me, the album title will be Dreams Nobody Caught and the title track will be 7 minutes. saxophones will feature on the title track album length: 1:10:29 Album cover: Lana won't be featured for the first time on the cover, except the Target edition. The normal version will be a painting of night sky, reminiscent of Starry Night except there's a rocket with a message in the stars (like the phone number on Honeymoon) and the Target edition, she'll be pulled by Charlie on the beach in a radio flyer wagon and it'll be textless. digital album release: July 4 physicals: September 23 manifestingggggg

Randomly found this - the producer of Move Me breaking down some of the instrumental. There's so much going on that I never noticed in the song. Pretty cool to hear -

8 likesLuckily she said herself that Cry Baby will not be a continuing character after MM3, and I get the feeling that she's going to evolve her into some sort of metaphysical being like Lilith in order to bring her story to a close. I just want to hear straight from Melanie's mouth what's going on with this album being pushed back again. At this point, updates would be just as good as getting a single.

8 likesNFR is really popular right now. I consider that part of her newer music. If you look at her most streamed songs from a few days ago, NFR and BTD appear the most with 3 tracks each. NFR is the last album she really promoted, so I think it makes sense for her last two albums to not have as much attention. Kind of like what happened to Honeymoon. I’m sure if she puts effort into promoting new music, it can also do well.
