Unpopular opinion but lanas earlier production seemed more dramatic and opulent with experimental vocals with lots of resonance. Later production from nfr on, Ive felt has been more stripped with cleaner, crisper vocals. Both are gorgeous to me. But i think Lana even knew that her next few albums might not be the “bangers” that people beg for, but it was how she wanted to tell her story. I think she has been referencing to whatever LDR9 is going to be for a while now, maybe longer than we have even noticed. I feel this is definitely something completely different and unexpected idk I just have a hunch that something very refreshing is coming.

'Wait For Life' is also one of my favorites--so passionate, so overflowing with emotion and pain.

“Wait for life” is one of my favorite songs from her for this exact reason . Her vocals are phenomenal in that song . For some reason IYLDWM is one of her most recent songs that remind me a bit of her earlier BTD/P vocals .

I agree, around that time I would notice issues that I couldn't believe weren't fixed during production. Even on an outstanding album like NFR her vocals are too low in the mix in a few songs. BB is the worst offender imo, with the production sounding cheap in some songs and the mixing outright ruining a few songs for me. Arcadia is a beautiful song but they never really fixed the pitching issues. In her earlier albums I never noticed any production issues. I'm relatively new to LB so idk if there's been any explanation for the change in production quality?

This thread mimics the underworld, it’s baffling how some users can say WHATEVER they want and stay safe. It’s like authority abuse. If we call someone a drug addict or other names we’ll get a fucking warning point, yet we open this stupid thread and see users disrespecting Sky in EVERY page. There’s a huge difference between dislike and lack of respect. Every now and then I get to this forum and I always regret it considering the freakshow it’s become. I also miss her earlier BTD/P vocals, also heard on 'Wait For Life,' were she seemed to be really concentrating on her vocals and doing all kinds of original and novel things with them, expressing different personas, etc. I think she's just become happy with what she considers her 'true, real, and authentic voice,' and just wants to use that, so we hear it on 'Arcadia,' and 'Sweet Caroline,' and 'VFR.'

I agree 100% about 'Yosemite' and 'IYLDWM.' 'Yosemite' definitely fit better on COCC than it would have on LFL as released. Both are among my Top 5 Lana songs ever. IMO, she ruined TNBAR completely on NFR, and it didn't fit at all on NFR. I'm glad I have the 'original' demo or ready-to-go leaked version. I keep it on a second version of LFL I created, and call 'Next Best American Record.' I think, in the past, we've known that Lana herself, or her people or handlers, leaked a couple songs--isn't that a fact? It's been discussed here so many times. Can anyone produce any hard evidence? If so, if correct, we can't 100% blame all the leaked tracks on others or outsiders. Going forward, I don't mind previously leaked tracks on LDL9 if they're reworked in the studio.

i need Lana with proper vocal production back. Her vocal production became a bit sloppy (lack of a better term) imo, starting all the way back with L4L (it was too bad but that’s the origin). It just lost that magic touch it used to have.

For me what matters most is if a song fits the album, and Lana is really good at choosing carefully I think. I don't really agree with calling certain songs "scraps" because writers save work for the future all the time. For example, Yosemite isn't a LFL scrap at all in my eyes, it's a perfect and crucial part of Chemtrails and we wouldn't have a clue that it was older if we didn't know because it fits so beautifully. If You Lie Down With Me may be old, but we never even heard of it and it sounds super fresh and fitting. I definitely would rather not have leaked songs because I want as much new music as possible, but I also think Lana has chosen to use them well and she's not as lazy about it as some people say. Each addition to Blue Banisters has a purpose and fits the themes and narrative really nicely (except maybe Thunder but it's still a solid part of the album.) She's ultimately telling the story that she wants and it's not her fault that these songs leaked, and in the future people won't even know that when looking back at her legacy. The only mistake she really made for me was switching up TNBAR because the "honey how's it feeling" part is one of my favourite moments in her discography

Realistically, I doubt there will be a special 10th anniversary vinyl released unless it’s announced when the silver one is announced. it would make no sense to put the money into manufacturing 2 variants of the same album that would release within 8 months of each other, especially with the way the vinyl industry works now the only way I could see another variant being done at a later time is if she decides to go on a True Romance anniversary tour & does a tour exclusive vinyl variant that she would sell at the merch table (which I doubt because she’s never done this sort of thing before and doesn’t seem to care about that sort of thing) I would say it’s a safe bet to buy the new repress when it’s announced

Anyway, I really don't have anything big or complex to say about LDR9 apart of wanting it to be vastly different of her previous releases. I know BB felt more diverse production-wise, and Dealer was surely something else vocally, but still I just want ha to get out of the comfort zone she has been in since LFL and then improvise and experiment with her voice like she did with Dealer, although... Now that I'm thinking, that'd be way greater to happen for LDR10

i disagree.. if it wasn't for leaks nobody would know they were old songs. it's still her original work and she didn't intend for anyone to hear it back then. it isn't really her responsibility to cater her albums to what people decide to leak.. trust me, TONS of artists release tracks recorded years and years ago it's just that nobody knows about it.. like yeah it's "boring" for you guys because you're huge fans and listen to every leak but for the general public and the vision lana has for the album she (imo) shouldn't be judged or seen as lazy for using songs that didn't fit on previous records
