Lana in W Mag: At the end of every album, I say goodbye and thank you—very Old Hollywood style—and yet I cannot help but just continue to write. fan: SHES QUITTING MUSIC

the way some of y'all seem to WANT her to quit music with how much you bring up this nonsensical discourse every era... go back to vinyl colours and tarot readings PLEASE and leave the most prolific artist of our generation ALONE i'd actually have a stroke

I feel that Lana's music will become more and more meaningful as time goes by. I know she has this concern about being forgotten, but she definitely won't be. Just see the new generation discovering all of her discography so far. Later generations will also rediscover it, so it goes... And, along with the changes and general contexts of the world, each album will be able to have a new meaning and become even more valuable. Remember when BTD on its release was just considered "bad influence music for young girls" and is now recognized as the most influential pop album in the music industry in that decade? It makes me think, "What about Blue Banisters? What about Chemtrails? Btw, what about Did... Ocean Blvd? What about everything we're seeing firsthand today?" Guys, ten years is a long time! We're already experiencing the longevity of Lana's work now. She has songs from 10 years ago going viral on modern social media. What will become of Lana Del Rey? Everything but an abandoned tunnel. Hello guys. I'm new to the site. Hope it's fun.

Blue Banisters is actually a masterpiece in my opinion, if you can put the unreleased and outtakes aside (which tbf is something only the die hard fans would be aware of) and just look at it as a full body of work, it's seriously beautiful and it deserves more respect

At least it’s not the « She scrapped the whole album » conversation that happens every damn album cycle when she’s been really quiet

i know this is petty but i find it a little disappointing how everybody's favorite unreleased (outside of lanaboards) is either serial killer, kinda outta luck, or queen of disaster, she has SO many other unreleased songs, some of which are honestly better and more interesting than her most popular unreleased songs

Lana won't ever quit music like even if she wanted to, she'd accidentally go to the studio out of habit and record something and release it I don't think she would even take a long break between albums cause she loves her job and since she's almost in full control of her career she can just focus on the music aspect and leave all the other aspects that seem stressful to her aside

In fact it’s like we’re encountering that girl from the UV cover almost 10 years later and she’s inviting us to her bedroom to whisper her secrets to us. It feels very full-circle in a way

People have been saying that every album is Lana's last album and a "goodbye" for years now And every time she releases another album a year or two later

If Lana quit her career or decided to take a five-year break, I wouldn't even be *that* upset at this point. Seriously. We all need to be a little more grateful with how often she releases great music. Almost ten albums in ten years, over 11 hours of music, hundreds and hundreds of good to great to excellent unreleased. We've been MORE than fed by this woman

From a lyrical perspective, I’m still stunned at how much growth Lana’s had as an artist in the past few years. I mean, Lana has always peppered in pop culture references in her work, but I find TUOB’s (such as with Hotel California and Nilsson’s Don’t Forget Me) to be almost necessary additions to the song. They aren’t just nods to similar themes or musical interests of hers: they’re irreplaceable elements of the track. Similarly, while Lana’s certainly no stranger to immersing her listeners in sensory details, her describing of, “Mosaic ceilings, painted tiles on the wall,” not only provides the visual landscape of the track, but it also serves as an intentional device to compare the tunnel’s rich inner existence to her own. Even in a broader sense, the lyricism is incredibly original and largely strays from cliches while still managing to be relatable in a work full of hyper-specificities. She is seriously in a league of her own!

So the concept of the album is her bedroom, with which Lana tries to make the relationship with her listeners even more intimate. She asks direct questions, is half naked, shows her breasts (even if only as a drawing). Many of her selfies from this year now make more sense. Even her private Honeymoon account established a more intimate relationship with her fans, so maybe that already served as preparation for the new album.

even if lana does decide to quit music in a month she’ll come up with a song lyric or melody when driving and suddenly an album is ready

i don't see her quitting music... and even if she did she'd still do the poetry thing and we'd probably get violet-style audiobooks for each one so i'm really not that concerned not to mention she hemorrhages leaks at least every 2 years

wtf did he do to her like... what made lana del rey finally snap and put up one (1) billboard in her ex's town in which he lives and works? like wow that's mother and the fact that he has a new gf/wife now makes me wonder if she wants to get back together with him after everything (cuz for one: they lowkey got back together in july 2020 and broke up shortly after and for two: marriage never stopped her )

Hope is a dangerous thing but honestly I think we are. Lana dropped the mv for Blue Banisters a couple days before the album release, even though she posted those 3 songs in May. This era feels too special and the aesthetic is way to good for her not to make visuals
