considering jack donoghue's instagram is filled with photos of him holding guns shirtless and kissing dogs and family members i'm sure his girlfriend putting up a billboard in her ex's town for shits and giggles isn't anything too crazy

So do we think she is single rn? Because I thought she was still with Jack but I’d find it a little weird if my girlfriend traveling half way across America to see a billboard she put up to harass her ex. I love her pettiness lol

okay so she announced "Theres A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd" dec 7 (Seans birthday as mypolaroidfrown pointed out) and now this only billboard in America being in Tulsa... .and he is married now and has step children .... I do wonder what or how this could tie into the record. lana ATE on the album cover so I hope Sean drives around and his heart drops seeing it... but I do wonder if she's hung up on him or like returning things or ??? just there to see if she feels finally over it ? its interesting and now im so curious ... also val commenting the laughing emoji makes me think lana is gonna low-key drag him on her record or something idk (my wishes)

I really want to go in blind this time. Not that I've listened to leaks before when an album is getting released, but, like... I'm content. Insiders don't have to tell me anything more. Tunnel was amazing, and I'd like to think I have an understanding of what the album is gonna be, not sonically, but ya know. It'll be good.

I can’t wait for March, I’m so curious to listen to this album and her melodies and her stories! The photos she took with Neil, they’re so intimate, and I’m not sure if it’s because she wants to remind her exes of what they’ve lost or because the lyrics on the album will be even more personal - maybe it’s a mix of both. She did say she had more things she wanted to “talk about”, so I’m positive we’ll get glimpses into her personal life, thoughts and feelings. Blue Banisters, hope, text book, they were just the beginning of something greater, I think. No one today writes lyrics like Lana does. She’s so original, and she does it so well, I’ve always known she had this potential in her and I’m so glad to have followed her for so long and to be here to witness her becoming better and better. I truly believe this will be her best album in terms of lyrics. You can hear a difference in her newer and older works, and I’m glad she’s not adding older tracks this time. Like she said, she’s very “conversational” and I’m all here for it. She also said she’s angry, and before we thought she was mad at the media (“don’t ask if I’m happy, you know that I’m not” after reporters asking her why the big smile on the cover of LFL, “let me show them how bad girls do, ‘cause no one does it better” because reporters will always find something negative to write about her or twist her words) but this time, I think, she’s mad at Sean. And maybe more guys. Maybe even at her mom, or some kind of disappointment. Like mentioned by several users here when Tunnel was released, it got out on Sean’s birthday. Which could’ve been unintentional, but there’s no way anyone could misinterpret it now that she’s literally, openly said she did it because she’s angry with him. She even drove to Tulsa to see the billboard, she had it put up there for Sean to see everyday to work. And I love it lmao, I’d totally do something similar too if I had been hurt terribly by someone. But Tunnel isn’t really a song about anger, or pettiness, or revenge or anything of that sort. Which makes me really curious to find out what song(s) will be on the album! American Whore is a provocative thing to be called or call someone else, but I really can’t tell if it’ll be that track or another one. Either way, I’m super curious to listen to it. This album... it’s gonna be everything, I can feel it. I haven’t had expectations this high since Norman, and I love that album. Lana has a lot she wants to say, she’s conversational, she’ll speak her mind, she’s angry and she’s sweet and she’s gentle and she’s clever. She’s in a bedroom, and it can’t get more private and personal than that. You keep diaries in a bedroom. Maybe this album will be like reading a diary, but it’ll be us listening to her thoughts. The Grants... I’m sure it’ll blow me away.

ohhh the shade of her new IG post She really drove down there just to marvel at the manifestation of her petty mind in person.

she always says she is ill whenever she is occupied with a man whether it's going on holidays in italy or breaking up (slowly)... and cancels her professional duties... she is lucky the pandemic made us all forget about that and move on... we just didn't know it was gonna go from worse to worser (QFTC)... and again i blame the cop for that too!

Was looking at Lana's iTunes page to see the album covers next to each other and like it really hit me that I've been a fan for almost 12 years. I've literally been there for every pre-release era of each album, that's crazy. Ocean Blvd is making me so emotional already lol.

There’s always a guy who we can’t get over. I think the answer was in her BB live. she said he was perceived as “sunshiny, on the right side of the law” and she was always perceived as “sad and bad”. She wanted to be more like him. Plain psychology.

Lol I love her, we all knew that’s why she’s had promo billboards in Tulsa for the past two albums anyhow and the fact that she’s publically confirming is so funny. Fuck that guy, long live Lana but also mama the best revenge is ignoring him for the rest of his pathetic life and continuing to live yours like the queen u are. also I think it’s obvious that he was the relationship closest to her getting what she very badly wants, which is to be partnered w someone “when’s it gonna be my turn” so I get that she’s still stinging from it all. And I just know he was such a shit to her I will hate him forever

I completely agree with you. This is all speculation of course. But we do know that she announced her new album on December 7th, which is also Sean's birthday. And now she posted on Instagram about this Tulsa billboard thing. I remember the Instagram live stream she did, the one where her father was in the room with her. I remember she was discussing the breakup with Sean and how she felt like her entire world was ending. I know that one definitely hit her hard. I really believe that her relationship with Clayton was either just a rebound or something to pass the time. I'm not sure if she's still with the guy from Salem, but it seems like Sean is " the one who got away." I definitely feel for her. I'm certainly not putting her down or criticizing her at all. I know many fans are laughing off the billboard thing, but a part of me is sorta worried and concerned for her, as a 36 year old woman to another 36 year old woman, that perhaps she's been carrying a torch for this man for the past few years. That's definitely going to eat away at her, especially now that he's moved on & married. Sure, that sort of pain and tension can create wonderful music & art. But ultimately I just wish for her to have happiness, closure, and peace.

I think she's definitely still hung up on him. Only Billboard for the album being in Tulsa of all places. Song and album announced on his birthday. Randomly popping up in his town to make an IG post while she's posted up by the billboard. Blue Banisters (song) was about him. Text Book, Chemtrails, Tulsa Jesus Freak... And now Ocean Blvd (song). I'm wondering if this will be an album about trying to get over him?

I don’t interpret Ocean Blvd as being about any man. It’s a very self reflective song; I don’t believe she’s directly singing about a person, rather she’s discussing her place in all of her relationships in general. It’s a song about insecurity, codependency, and interpersonal instability, not being horny lol

The insiders both said the title track is one of her best singles in years, but there are even better songs on the album (long acronym and A&W for example); I'm so excited

If you could pick any one Lana song to hear for the very first time again what would it be? Personally I would do anything to hear Brooklyn Baby for the first time again. It truly is a masterpiece lyrically and structurally

the way she teased the title track two minutes in and the way she perfectly explains qftc in a mature reflective way admitting she was wrong but it still felt right for her to express that... she has always been one step ahead even with her badly worded trump takes... her understanding of the narcissism plaguing the culture and politics and how he was a mirror held up to the society and our self centeredness and he needed to happen to show us that... and her knowledge on the human psyche and how we repeat our unconscious patterns... and she was able to articulate all that beautifully and gracefully on camera off painkillers and after she worked through her rage and grief

I'm super excited for the new album of course. I was really sad to hear that her vehicle was broken into and she had things stolen. I'm especially sad about the book she was writing, I hope she was able to recover some of what she lost. I figured that after that incident, things would be delayed. I'm just really grateful that she's still releasing music, especially after all she's been through with the break-ins, theft, leaks, etc. I love the new single. Lyrically, sonically, it's perfection. As she grows older, she's going to change, as we all do. She's not necessarily going to be singing about the things she sang about 10, 15 years ago. Her wants and needs are different now. I'm Lana's age, so in a way I feel like I've sort of grown up with her, over these past 10 years. I still hold out hope, foolish as it may be, that she will put out an unreleased collection at some point. I would just love for her to hand pick her favorite unreleased tracks, and really dive into that. Yes I know it's all available on youtube, soundcloud, etc, but I still would love an official curated release from her. Anyway, back to the new record. Looks like she has a lot of features on this one. The only one I'm familiar with is Father John Misty, I don't know who any of the other people are, but when I have a chance I'll go online and check them out! It Will be interesting to see what she cooks up for us kids!

She must have really loved Sean to go as far as doing something like this to get back at him. She really was never over that breakup with Sean. She said he broke her heart. I think he was the one who did the breaking up. I heard Sean was now married. I think Lana got "engaged" to Clay to make Sean jealous. The way she got rid of Clay...lol

I don't want to jinx it, but I have a very strong feeling that Pitchfork will give this one a score higher than Norman. Maybe even a 10. Everything is just shaping up to be an incredible, game-changing album.

I just really hope the rest of the album is clearly represented when she released the title track for this album. The title track's lyrics are so fucking good. The instrumental is so FUCKING GOOD, top tier from Lana. The lyrics are super fucking good. I want the rest of the album to be held to this quality and want to expect it to be this high but sometimes setting expectations too high will fuck yourself over. The lyrical changes as the song goes from, "Tell me you like it" to "Tell me you like me" and "There's a tunnel under ocean blvd" changing to "Don't forget me like the tunnel under ocean blvd" are so subtle, but seem so important. I want the album right now.... she literally hyped me up without doing much at all this album cycle. literally the photoshoot, the title track, i'm ready for the next song and the full album

okay so idk who's gonna read this but the song finally clicked for me and this is my personal take on the meaning. i saw someone on here talking about Lana singing often about beauty and youth, and listening to Ocean Blvd i can really see that. when she opens the song with "Did u know...?" almost like flipping through a photo album and telling us about this beautiful tunnel that not everybody knows about but that was once gorgeous and open for people to see, almost like someone showing you photos of when they were younger and telling you about what their life was like. when she says "open me up tell me you like it" to me it's almost like "will you still love me when i'm no longer young and beautiful" like time is passing but tell me that if you open me up you can still like me, i can still turn you on (fuck me to death) and obviously the "don't forget me like the tunnel under ocean blvd" cause she knows time is passing but she's still trying to make herself worth of something, she's trying to show that she's still young and beautiful and doesnt wanna be forgotten cause she's still shining. at the end of the day, she is the tunnel. idk my take on it no one's gonna read this long ass post lmaooo

Sure, she was going to settle down with him and he looooved the attention he got by even going to Grammys w/her . But as usual, “he was unready” or some other bullshit and then, he gets married to a girl like a one year after. Asshole

i really don’t think she’s “hung up on him” or whatever, i think she’s just being petty… mostly because i don’t want to believe that she still has any feelings for his racist pig republican ass, it was very disappointing that she even associated herself with a character like him in the first place
