Idk, I see Alone, Castle in the Sky, Revelations, Claw, HIFTB & Try it again as pretty cohesive. There will be songs that stand out like a sore thumb (similar to certain stuff on clarity imo) but I think it will be a solid record. At the end of the day this woman is no longer the same person who did Era 1/TOTL/Clairty. I promise if y’all keep your expectations extremely low you will enjoy aspects of the record I’m gonna try to answer this, as I’ve been trying to keep up w the album process. I think we can categorize this album process into two parts; before and after alone tiktok hype. Before At one point it was titled Thousand Pieces with album pitch w 13 tracks according to the leaked tracklist (which I believe was 100% right). The album included 2 problematique tracks (Revelations & Your Time to Cry) and Alone was a solo track at this point. (Feed the Beast was never considered from problematique I believe, if it was I guess that would be 3 tracks). Notably, It did not include hit it from the back. After the initial pitch was approved Kim continued to work on the it. The idea shifted and she said the album would be a 3 word title and teased the sword emoji (which I think is funny that everyone thinks the aesthetic is changing when she’s teased it a few times). We also know 3 problematique songs made the tracklist per Kim’s tweet and BunheadHQ said problematique songs from her set at Australian Pride (can’t remember the concert name) would be included on the album (HIFTB was now added to FTB tracklist). On March 10th (Friday), she teased upcoming tracks & that the album shoot was next week. On March 13th (Monday) we got a clip of her from the school shoot. This could very well have been the original album shoot!! It lines up w the timeline. After With the hype from alone it seems like her label started funding more stuff, the Nicki feature was added which is probably why the single art and aesthetics dont fit. It seems like w this new money it was rushed. Kim revealed during alone press that Luke Gilford would be doing the album shoot so clearly the visuals were changed from the school stuff. Now not only were HIFTB & Revelations on it, Sex Talk was confirmed and ur time to cry may have been removed (as per that original tracklist that leaked before). We don’t know but there may be 4 problematique tracks now So even though we’re like a month away this album keeps changing and that’s why the school shoot session scrapped. To shout it out loud (as Kiss would say), there is not one second (alright, maybe one or two seconds) or actual un-produced 'Behind the Scenes' footage in Candy Necklace. We are just being lulled into a sense of thinking we are watching first a regular music video, then a meta video, then a behind the scenes film. All of it, and all of the photos posted by the filmmakers, as well as the 'teaser' from a few weeks ago, are all a part of the product.

It's very interesting to hear the discourse about Marina being political in her music because it feels like most people mark it as a distinction that happened somewhere later into her career, but I felt like one of the things that astounded me about her sound back in the early 2010s was her outspokenness. For me personally, I think what's changed is that her lyrics feel so on the nose nowadays. Electra Heart is an explicitly feminist album, and TFJ is very critical of popular culture in the West (and how that affected coming of age of a millennial woman). It feels almost as if her life has ran out of the drama that fueled EH/TFJ, and she has to now draw upon those impersonal experiences in her songwriting to make vague statements about the human race and far away countries. FROOT was a good album, and L+F was kind of faceless, but both albums feel like she held back as a means to prove (perhaps to herself?) that she's no longer that crazy girl wearing the blonde wig, masquerading as a Stepford wife. Ancient Dreams on the other hand felt like an attempt to recapture the drama of her earlier career, though that felt very transparent and it didn't quite meet those expectations. I think that the best thing for Marina to do is surround herself with interesting people and experience life at its fullest, and that's when we'll get music that reaches her early days. I truly believe that Marina's career could re-peak again, but that's up to her. She's seemed to have settled down, so I'm expecting the best we'll get is a cute bop on a mid album here and there. That's fine. After the pain she went through that fueled TFJ/EH, I don't blame her for safeguarding herself. Though sometimes I do fear her insecurities have burnt bridges (cc: familiar FROOT)...

I would include Kintsugi, Fingertips and Taco Truck. They are the only ones which are noticeably different from what I remember.

Hello everyone i’m a new collector of vinyls and I was wondering if you could help me make up my mind. I am in two minds about buying UV deluxe version - the one with Florida kilos guns & roses and black beauty - (which I found at the very competitive price of 30€) and Norman standard (34€). I stan both uv and Norman although I tend to stan Norman a little bit more now that summer is approaching and I think I’ll enjoy it more. That said, my questions are: - how good is the listening experience in terms of pressing for both? Which is better? - will the price of both shift heavily on the long run or will they approximately remain the same? I don’t want to splash out 60€ if I can buy one of them at a later time for the same price. Thank youuuuu looking forward to your replies and input. Xxx

The Charli album timeline is so fascinating to me. We know with all the hundreds of songs she made around that time that the album had at least two or three identities before the final product. And that’s not even to mention all the label pressure / stalling with monthly drops / listening parties she had with fans to hear new music and choose what songs to keep / advice from collaborators, like AG telling her to keep Official…. Like wow. It’s cool to imagine a world with an album in the vein of Click, Lucy Liu, Next Level Charli, Block. Or in the vein of Ballerina , Cigarettes & Alcohol, White Mercedes…Blame It On Your Love, Next Life, Would You… it’s just so full of character. It’s her heaviest body of work too.
