15 likesIt's insane that no one made a thread about this! On February 2nd 2024, it was the 4th Annual Gold Derby Music Awards, where Lana Del Rey was nominated in 8 categories and won 4 awards! She was the second sweeper of the show, Taylor Swift was the main sweeper with 9 awards. The categories where LDR was nominated: *VICTORIES MARKED WITH BOLD AND UNDERLINED!* Artist Of The Year (lost to Taylor Swift) Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd - Album Of The Year (lost to Midnights by Taylor Swift) A&W - Record Of The Year (lost to Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift) A&W - Song Of The Year (lost to Anti-Hero by Taylor Swift) Candy Necklace (ft. Jon Batiste) - Best Collaboration (WON!) Best Rock/Alternative Artist (WON!) Did You Know That There's A Tunnel Under Ocean Blvd - Best Rock/Alternative Album (WON!) A&W - Best Rock/Alternative Song (WON!) It's not the first time, when LDR has been nominated for Gold Derby Music Awards. In 2022, she was nominated for Artist Of The Year and Chemtrails Over The Country Club was nominated for Album Of The Year winning BOTH awards! In 2023, Blue Banisters was nominated for Best Pop Album and Arcadia was nominated for Best Rock/Alternative Album but sadly without any wins. The ceremony where the winners were announced: The website source with full list: https://www.goldderby.com/feature/2024-gold-derby-music-awards-winners-1205715515/amp/ TAKE NOTES, SCAMMYS!!!!!!!!!!

Atlantic seems to be replicating the Crash rollout, so hopefully it won't be long before the second single gets announced. Hopefully we won't have to get through another month of painful teasing as well. -
7 likes"Thank you so much, I am so humbled and grateful for this award. And I would like to take this moment to announce that my new album will no longer be called "Lasso", it's actually called "Rock Candy Sweet" now. The release date will be June 1st, I am so exciting for you all to hear this beautiful record..." - Lana tomorrow receiving BRIT award.

Von Dutch is super fun and repayable. I think this is going to be my favorite Charli album since self titled. -

this rollout is stellar idgaf what anyone is saying. her planting a seed about being a liar has me in a chokehold. the inability to guess what's real or not is drumming up so much conversation and anticipation, at least amongst fans. between atlantic perhaps finally seeing her as a true asset and charli's own recent public revelations about art (which i originally deemed as pretentious but am now finally starting to see the vision) i'd like to think they've finally hit a stride in which to work with each other. everything she's doing right now is performance art. i feel like every choice is deliberate - we are all talking (though i realize we're on a forum for fans so almost everything is overanalyzed) but a major label artist announcing an album cover like that might be a perfect blend between caricature performance art and guerilla marketing. i was a little cringed a month ago ngl but i'm sold whether it's genuine or calculated... i could write a thesis charli is an artistic/marketing/popstar genius either way.... and the music is good so does it even matter!??? *i realize there's a matter of logistics to contend with to pull something like this off but she's been sitting on this album for a while i believe soooo... that "fake" album cover is literally the easiest possible thing to mock up for a vendor's website as a red herring (not that i mind the cover either way like i said i appreciate the artistic motivation of causing some discourse) and the release/shipping date on is literally just text on her own store website so... i am very much sounding delusional but that's marketing at work! -

really curious about how this (newer) part of the fandom is gonna survive once the re-records are finished. we have not been having to wait through the "drought" of normal album release cycles for like three years now because the re-recordings have always filled in the time gaps. seeing people still expecting rep or debut TV to drop soon when we have a new album coming in april is a little concerning. of course i am guilty of wanting the re-records to finally be over with too, but i am wondering how this is going to translate once taylor doesn't have content to give us when she's writing her next. cannot imagine the fits that will be thrown if she has to disappear for a year or two -

I'm forever fascinated by Pitchfork's grip over pop fans. I've watched people on Reddit rave about an album only to suddenly go lukewarm if Pitchfork scores it low. -

Anyways can we PLEASE BUY Von Dutch on iTunes?? Atlantic seems to be doing their part by getting the song high positions on major playlists, we need to add SALES to its first week figures. It's currently at #46 on US iTunes, it only needs 30 more sales to crack the Top 40. Let's goooooo Angels -

Lasso - Pre-Pre-Release Thread

I wish she would tease and post more, like the pre NFR days. I remember the LFL era where it was paced almost perfectly. We got Love, title track, Groupie Love, Summer Bummer, AND heard snippets of White Mustang and Cherry. It was a really fun time and she kept it lively. It was a longer prerelease since Love leaked way early, but the album came out 6 months after Love, and it flew by. I don’t want a Norman situation again though. Teased the first snippet 2 years before the album; and then by the time the album came out we had heard at least a snippet of every song. So I don’t want that, but she could repost the Henry video with her singing along or something, just to keep it more interesting. I miss it. I hate how it’s dry until like a month before the album drops -

4 likesand I am. good music can come from anywhere even if it's... hannah montana. I need something as nostalgic, warm and fuzzy as those songs (they 're literally country pop) if thats what Lana's heading towards, we all know if she hits, she WILL HIT even harder than those two songs. So yes, I am serious.

4 likes1. A LOT of people cared about Palestine. Some since its (Israel's) founding as an ethnostate and some over the past few decades of Israel stomping on Palestine's neck. 2. You don't need to be "permanently online" to know about this conflict 3. Nobody is expecting celebrities to END the war, what we're expecting is that they don't do things to further the Zionist agenda along AND don't try and benefit monetarily from an ethnostate. Also celebrities contributed to the end of the South African apartheid regime. (They didn't bring it about on their own and people in South Africa did much of the work, but celebs brought the cruelty of that regime to the world.)
