sheridan posted california dreamin' by the mamas and papas on his story after hinting working with lana again so i think it's safe to say she's covering that song!

I think this is likely for another music video off of the covers record!! It appears they’re in a bar or a saloon-esque diner of some sort, so maybe it’s for one of the Patsy Cline/real ‘Americana’ country songs!

HIFN was good, but not as good as self-titled or the other mixtapes imo. She definitely needs a creative break to come up with something fresh and exciting. Although HIFN was made over a month so I understand why it was like that and I know a lot of people loved it and think it's her best. I trust her to come up with something good, but it'd be nice to see what she could do after a longer break and different influences (not just partying and love).

This post from one of the backup singers on 'Summertime' allude to the possibility that the backup singers will make an appearance on more tracks for this record. However, though the lines "It’s been a great week working with the amazing @lanadelrey. More music to come." make it sound like she could be saying more music with Lana to come, she also could just be talking about just more music from herself x

About an hour ago, Lana Del Rey was spotted by a fan outside an H&M in the Ontario Mills shopping mall in Ontario, California. Lana is seen sporting her newly-dyed brunette locks!

I think I posted this idea before. I'd love "Silent Night" with a video. Christmas eve and Lana sings to a bunch of muppets sleeping around a Christmas tree. Instant classic! ?

Depends alot on the country. I guess for Murica, it was the EH tumblr era. However in many european countries like Germany she actually got quite a lot of attention with Hollywood and The Family Jewels. A lot of the alternative-pop-stars from the early 2010 - including Lana - started out stronger in Europe than they did in the US.

Random Thought Unless I've been misssig some real confirmation about "When You Take Away Control" being an official "Forget" demo of sorts, I truly believe it is an original song on it's own. By the time "Froot" (song) came out, It was basically confirmed that the album was already done in full. If Forget was written as some sort of "last minute addition" (just like "How To Be a Heartbreaker"), it makes sense that they originally "had 14 songs, cut to 12" but ended up replacing one of them. It would make sense that Forget wasn't part of the "recording list" as most (if not ALL) of Froot was recorded between April - June 2014 and Forget came after "BRIT Awards Hungover" (The 2015 edition, when everyone came out wasted as fuck. If it was after 2014, it would've been one of the earliest songs too, contradicting WYTAC being one of the last songs on that list). My only doubt about this is the fact Forget was part of the "FOTM" campaign and it would've been a short time to write, record, finish, create a music video and release it... in a month (Feb-March\15). But the whole package felt way more simplier than everything that came before (and after), so there's that. After writing all of this I kinda remembered something about her website leaking lyrics because pages were already up and just "hidden" so I just don't know and got lazy to search about and also realized that absolutely NOTHING proved my point that When you Take Away Control wasn't "transfomed" into Forget but yeah, I still believe they're different songs. Thanks 4 coming to my TED Talk x. When You Take Away Control might be one of my favorite titles now that I think about it.

get shygirl's name out your mouth. ALSO ALSO ALSO!!! hyperpop was NOT AT ALL started by pop 2. it was started the moment A.G. founded PCM and then danny l harle, ag, sophie, and even easyfun started making bubblegum bass/eurodance influenced music. THAT was hyperpop. SLAYYTER, GRAVEYARDGUY, THAT KID, JAKE GERMAIN, 100 GECS, AYESHA EROTICA. THEY ARE NOT HYPERPOP. THEY NEVER WILL BE. they are simply y2k influenced electropop. not hyperpop at ALL. hyperpop is a eurodance/bubblegum bass inspired sound and genre. it wasn't started by charli however she did popularize it. give credit to AG, easyfun, danny l harle, and sophie. they're the ones who made this sound possible.

Late to this party but really, Pop2 definitely started Hyperpop. Imagine artists like Dorian, Tommy Cash, MO, Pabllo, Troye and Caroline that did a full 180 to what is they're aesthetic/sound today, without the exposure they got on the mixtape. Same for Kim and ALMA, more in a matter of exposure then of sound or image. Carly and Tove were the only two already big enough artists that didn't really get influenced by their involvement in Pop2. Let's not even talk about the """"wannabes"""" that stemmed from mid 2018 onwards like ThatKid, Jake Germain, Slayyyter, Graveyardguy and the latest acts like fraxiom, umru, gupi, Rico, Shygirl and too many more. Damn, even looking back at the 2017 EP by the gecs you can feel the dripping influence of Pop2 in 1000gecs & remixes. Would XCXWorld spark such a movement and have the kind of legacy Pop2 has? Not even a bit, let's be real. And seriously, it has aged, the type of "not shitty, but still not god tier, just good for nostalgia and mythology factor"

in fairness i wrote this before reading the TMZ article so this makes a lot more sense, but for the amount of female artists that got snubbed this year i still feel like i don’t care that much. woman ran absolute loops around men this year. his album is literally one of the only notable albums released by a man in 2020. i still don’t think the grammys as such a be all end all that “him and his fans are owed explanation”. the grammys have always been corrupt, just look at billie’s wins. it’s funny how the grammys are only corrupt when it affects a man and not fiona apple, or rina sawayama or fka twigs who all arguably had better albums and from the looks of their social media took the rejection with 10,000x more grace. if this was about some underlying problems with the grammys, he should have said that, not that a superficial award show “owes him”. sorry that turned into a bit of a rant LMAO.

What if it’s the cover of “Cactus” by the Pixies that was registered in 2017? What with all the Cactus emojis! They could’ve shot a video for it today (and maybe it will confirm whether or not Lana really dyed her hair brown LOL). The cover could’ve been produced with Zach Dawes in 2017 around the time they had TLSP band, so sonically, it would fit with the other covers on this record since they’re also produced by him!

Everyone on here talking about blonde vs. brunette, when in reality the only so called conversation we should have about Lana's hair is: auburn >>> every other colour. That's that. A long beautiful, luscious cascade of mahogany silkiness. That's what I say.

literally exactly this. even electronic music, like in this day and age you couldn’t have giorgio moroder, skrillex, arca and charli xcx in the same category. even fiona apple shouldn’t be in the rock category. her work on fetch the bolt cutters doesn’t even have a classified genre for a start.

i know you aren't comparing the album with forever, party 4 u, and detonate to an album with 2 troye sivan threats and a bunch of songs that are essentially the watered down wannabe pop2 the reup reloaded

They shouldn't really mix recognising popular music and "quality" music together, they should come down on one side or the other but because they don't there will always be outrage how someone who made really popular music or someone who made really good music got snubbed when they year before or year after they did the opposite. So it's just luck. Rap Album nominations always sum it up, they used to only really nominate more classic sounding rap albums and ignore more pop/mumble/trap ones. The first time they really nominated a non "good" rapper was Iggy Azalea in 2015, since then they also nominated Migos in 2018, Cardi B (who actually won in 2019), Travis Scott also in 2019 and 21 Savage in 2020 so they do recognise pop/trap/mumble/"cheap" hip-hop yet this year they ignored it all even though in 2020 the two best selling albums are both rap albums by Lil Baby and Pop Smoke and went back to nominating all only old school classic type rapper music even though none of their albums were even slightly popular.

i know a lot of the weeknds fans will be on his side, and they totally have a right to be! but the amount of women that have lost awards to men over the years (literally any scenario where ed sheeran has won an award) and they’ve just had to take it with grace...idk maybe i’m just completely over the grammys. for me it’s less about being caught up in who didn’t get nominated or who didn’t win and just celebrating who did. there are probably millions on millions of artists who deserve grammys more than the people actually nominated but for the millions of faceless acts no one acknowledged there always seems to be too many celebrity millionaires thinking their work is more valid because it charted.

Hyperpop is definitely NOT PcMusic as it was intended back then. Pop2, while having some callbacks to early PCM doesn't sound a little bit like it. Also, lacking some comprehension skills I see, cause I didn't say all those artists are inspired by Pop2 sound, some are and some just borrowed from the aesthetic, like Shygirl since you seem so pressed about her. All those artists had a very Charli derivative sound and aesthetic when they debuted, obviously and thankfully they evolved past that. Never even mentioned Ayesha but go off. But imma laugh at you saying they're not hyperpop. "Hyperpop is a genre of pop music which pushes pop tropes and themes to experimental or parodic extremes. It draws on dance and electronic music, and may blend elements of trance, techno, house, emo, punk rock, cloud rap, and hip hop." If this isn't the description of 100gecs music then i guess we haven't been listening to the same artists.

i think this is embarrassing omfg. the grammys don’t owe anyone anything. they’re shit every year it’s no different every single year when we sit back and let them snub all of our favourite female artists. idk why artists let this one award show genuinely get under their skin, i think everyone’s social media outbursts today have been really embarrassing, not just the weeknd :/

IMD is genuinely one of the worst, most poorly produced, boring, uninteresting and overall weak project I’ve heard in the last few years. There’s a reason it has a 39 on Metacritic
