I'ma have to stop you right there- it ain't our business and she didn't post "all her hate against her mother", it was just implicit that they aren't in good terms- she never said "I hate my mother". However, even if she does hate her why should she forgive her just bc ppl are dying and bc of the present pandemic context? No ma'am, she shouldn't. We don't know what happened between them behind close doors, we don't know if it's something really serious- she shouldn't forgive her actions just bc she's her mother, there are a lot of abusive, toxic family members out there. We just don't know. We can speculate, talk about it, which I'd say is "fine" but one thing we shouldn't be doing is holding this against her. You don't have to love every family member, you don't even have to talk to them. I'm sure you don't like 100% of your family members and there might be a reason to it. I really dislike when, once in a blue moon, someone brings out this argument about this topic. There's family members I don't talk to and I never will bc they won't acknowledge what they did and I will not forgive them just bc ppl are dying. It's not immature- but it's also not not immature- bc we don't know the reason behind all of this.

I mean you also have the right to pass judgement on her relationship with her mother but it is pointless when we are just fans and don't even know what exactly happened. For all we know it could be much worse than we realize. Either way, I know what it's like to have a fractured relationship with a parent and it really sucks. I feel for her and respect her decision to do so.

No one's kissing her ass, this is just something we know nothing about. And we don't live in a rainbow world where everyone gets along- esp people in your family. People are nasty to one another, family members or not.

heroin and the original lust for life demo definitely suit eachother because they're both very ambient and atmospheric, like floating through space, i really wish she didn't change the original concept and sound of lust for life, the witchy / spacey / folk concept was so cool

I miss the ambience Lana used to include in her music. The live show samples, the sounds of crowds and birds. Norman feels like it’s missing so much atmosphere... almost like sitting in a quiet car and hearing that ringing sound of the silence. Nothing she makes sounds as “anthemic” or voluminously crafted as National Anthem or Lolita anymore. God Bless America & Heroin were a nice throwback though in terms of production.

Ok. So its, well incredible. Only complaint, and it might be cus im broken but it sometimes sounds like they backed off her vocals randomly, like they were afraid of her power. However, Angels Like You, Hate Me, and Never Be Me may be the goddamn TRIFECTA of this woman's incredible evolution to- i wouldn't even call her a rock star, its too simple-This is just an iconic survival, she should've gone down 12 times over now. Night Crawling and Gimme What I Want are such swagger, High was the grower but im into it, and Bad Karma is sexxxy. But Angels Like You and Hate Me, I was rendered to tears. When the lyrics speak to the personal and universal, it can overwhelm the senses and cause the levy of my tear ducts to break. This is a fucking masterpiece.

Lucky Ones is an incredible song and I genuinely don’t understand how people hate it so much...the production is incredible and her vocals are on point. The lyrics are ~meh~ but the rest of the song more than makes up for it imo

Wow thanks for posting this here! I also gave it a second chance, tried listening to it as an isolated project but failed miserably at doing it. I still can't stand that album but I do think it has a few gems in it. The problem I have with the album is that I can't help but compare it to her older albums. The way it makes me feel empty and doesn't inspire me as much as the other ones angers me to death. However, if I ever try my best at not comparing it with her older projects, maybe I could enjoy it. Who knows in the future I give it another visit and I end up liking it more. I agree with the healing and calming process, the album gives me stress relieving vibes for sure. I hope L+F at least helped her find her safe ground as you mention and now she's ready to release more daring and quirky sounds like she used to.
