Okay i know it's really mean & too early to think about LDR9 right now after we just got Blue Banisters. But sorry, i can't help the thirst Here's a "LDR9" album rollout in my tiny head: LDR9 title will be: LIZ, I'M CALLING FROM CALIFORNIA Genres: Psychedelic, indietronica, Alt Rock, chamber pop artpop, dreampop, ofc (a sweet "piano flop" to spite y'all ballad haterz) Style: An ethereal Witch Rock Album (I'm thinking of Which Witch - Florence + The Machine kind of vibes) mixed with experimental electronic-elements, serving for random drunk screaming/ camp style. Produced by: herself, Mike Dean Track 5 - Lemonade has some excerpts/sample contents from old demo "Dance for Money". This will be her 2022 stripper anthem (it will make the preceeders like Brite Lites, Cherry etc. proud). It marks the first time in 5 years since she made her last stripper song. (L4L era). Track 13: "To Clementine" is a continuation of "Fine China" - The song is a love letter to her future daughter Clementine - "baby, your daddy might be an asshole but im never gonna leave u. I will always protect you in my arms" - The song sets in "Fine China" universe's storyline. This album is a sister to Lust for Life, but this time, it's not a celebration for her fans, rather than the celebration for herself. The album is a nod to young/innocent Lizzy Grant (yes, she will spill more tea about her past in this album) & how that make her the person she is today, more self-reflecting songs (just like WW in Blue Banisters), more fuck-you media songs (especially annoying-ass twitter stan culture), and how she been through shit to be able to love and appreciate/believe in herself & her art (as she should, she is Lana Fucking Del Rey) & more contemplating songs like in Lust for Life where she shares her thoughts about life, politics, society prejudice towards a woman/a woman in the industry, and although the album isn't an ode to her fans like Lust for Life was, it still has 2 songs as 2 love letters dedicated to her fans - Roses Bloom For You (altered lyrics) & At Peace, At Last. I posted about in the Text Book thread, but I'm too floored by it for it to go unnoticed lol. Text Book is actually far more layered than I initially realized. There is the obvious distinction between herself and Sean in terms of where they may stand on certain sociopolitical and/or human rights issues that is used as a backdrop for the dissolution of their relationship – but I am realizing that there are nods to the karmic family lineage that she keeps referring to peppered throughout the song. I think there is a level of genealogical ill situated in a historical and racial context that underlies this song, too (think about the track’s declaration to “rewrite history”, nods to the Black Lives Matter movement, and references to "Ol' Man River"). It is brilliant how she manages to create a lyrical and thematic interplay between the end of a committed relationship, reparations of historical family karma, public infamy, and strained parental relations. This is one of her best – if not the best – written songs. I think it is absolutely one of my top 5 favourites from her ever.

Tired of people hearing but not listening. She didn't put Cherry Blossom on the record as some sort of filler, or just to revive an old song. Think about what the lyrics of the song mean when put side by side with 'Sweet Carolina'. Just devastating and amazing.

It’s funny the stark contrast between COCC and BB release in Lanaboards and I guess the fandom in general. Almost everyone for the most part loves Blue Banisters, the concept, songs, themes. COCC was different.. everyone was nitpicking at something different. Lana really did THAT with Blue Banisters, a TOP 3 album in her discography. Exquisite

This is one of Lana's best albums in terms of vocals for me, so I'm happy that she's proud of that aspect because she absolutely deserves to be. She really delivered in every aspect and did such a nice mix of her softer vocals and her rougher/crazier ones

I always thought Dealer was more of a mood track, and is one of those songs where Lana’s depiction of the person she’s addressing is a more universal one (like an archetypal ex-boyfriend) and is meant to reflect more on her state of mind, than just be about the character type she’s singing to.

I’ve always thought it was kinda cringey when artists release “sad” albums and promote the album like they’ll be on the Ellen show and be like “Hey come listen to to my album where I talk about my suicide attempt and crippling depression and my abusive boyfriend, out on Friday! “ and then parade it for being authentic and whatever in an attempt to sell this idea that this new album they have out is the realest version of them and that everyone should listen to it. And i feel like w this album the entire lack of promotion might have been because Lana might’ve felt it would be inappropriate for her or like just weird to be like “hey guys go listen to my new singles where I talk shit about my mom and be sure to buy my album where I scream about not wanting to live” Or it could also just be that she’s lazy just a thought
