Lana as well as Jack Harlow, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish and Finneas; BTS, Polo G, City Girls, Normani and Kali Uchis will be celebrated during a luncheon on December 4th! The pre-show/red carpet event will be hosted by Amazon Music. She will be awarded the "Decade Award": "In October 2011, Lana Del Rey released her first single, 'Video Games,” and a star was born. A decade later, she is regarded as one of the most influential singer-songwriters of the 21st century thanks to Grammy nominations and critical acclaim for her albums “Norman Fucking Rockwell,” “Born to Die,” and in the last year, “Chemtrails Over the Country Club” and “Blue Bannisters.'" https://variety.com/2021/music/news/variety-hitmakers-jack-harlow-olivia-rodrigo-lil-nas-x-lana-del-rey-1235115745/?fbclid=IwAR0ACGoceAL1tfi2Em9amzR4PBtYkq5KToy3oW3zNVHrk2n3-jl9IMvaUWE

Absolutely deserved. Lana is by far one of the most influential and incredible artists of the 2010s, and I love seeing her and her work honored like this

Love this for her. I wonder if she will actually show up or ghost The way I hope she wears her flannel

what’s her age got to do with anything? Like we aren’t all sat on a website dedicated to a 36 year old
  6. 14 likes
The blatant ageism here is bizarre, 30 is very young. people begin careers at 30-you are all acting like she’s 70 years old, even still Blondies still at it. As far as her expressions, she’s British we don’t fake emotion or expression-she’s not rude she just DAF

remember that charli does not and will not care about charting anymore she just confirmed in the crack magazine interview that this era is her trolling. charli is VERY respected in the music industry and will only go up from here, she is a true artist

everyone else is just being honoured for the year. lana's the only one being honoured for the decade. so it makes sense the rest are trendy new stars. the other legends would've been lana's competition if anything.

it's funny because artists like olivia rodrigo & billie eilish are very new compared to lana, they're likely only included because they're very popular, it's silly to call them "decade defining" musicans when they've only been in the industry for a few years, didn't olivia rodrigo hit it big with "driver's license" in 2020? i'm pretty sure a good chuck of those artists in general are "new" and/or wouldn't really be considered "decade defining" edit: i just saw you deleted your original comment lol

i feel like artists who've actually been around throughout the 2010's & have remained very successful & influential would've been more fitting choices, such as lady gaga, beyonce, selena gomez, & taylor swift, i know those are really big names in the industry, but it's a lot more accurate if they're trying to celebrate artists who were successful & impactful during the 2010's instead of artists who debuted when the decade was ending, but we all know how award shows are

Not to talk down on them at all because I think they're very talented in their own right, but I think it's super interesting that the artists Lana has inspired are also being honored. It really shows how influential her music is to newer artists even in small ways. We've gotten to a point almost 10 years after BTD where we can now see the fruits of Lana's labor. She is just such an incredible artist and I am so happy over this

This take makes no sense lol Iggy hasn’t built the loyal fanbase / found her niche like Charli did. Iggy’s the type of artist that publicly gets annoyed when her album doesn’t chart high, Charli’s the type of artist that drops 2 non-commercial albums in a year labeling them as mixtapes so she can get them out quicker, a year after she drops an EP like Vroom Vroom. Very different types of artists. I also highly doubt Charli would ever wanna go independent. Being signed to a big label probs makes it easier to write songs for other artists, which she’s been successful at. It’s where the money’s at, she’s still cashing in those Señorita checks.

Was doing some digging earlier today and found this photo Melanie posted back in 2013 The pieces of paper are obviously hard to read, but you can make out lyrics from Intervals (2013 EP unreleased) written on them. I'd guess this is from around the time she was writing that song

She’s never had energy in any kind of interview she’s ever done lol she always has the same croaky, non-interest tone and she carries it into every interview she does, I remember back when she and Rita Ora did Graham Norton and after the performance Charli was sat in the sofa looking like a moody teenager. I think it’s somewhat put on or a defence mechanism when she feels awkward but it always gives edgy “I think too cool for this” cousin in the corner at the family Xmas party vibes every time

I find Lana to be very resilient, because despite being at the center of some controversies and her albums getting ridiculous negative backlash from the getgo, she still managed to make a name for herself in the industry and even be considered a trailblazer years down the line. I hate award shows and their politics as much as the next person, but she's really thriving despite some naysayers, never missing a beat to criticize her.

Gurl, get out of here with that energy. Her stanbase is LOYAL. Her connection to artists EVERYWHERE are often rooted in years of friendship. She will always be fine. She will ALWAYS be able to tour cause we show up!

I thought that it was clear she was trolling but I’ve been seeing so many people taking the “this is her mainstream era” thing so literal? She’s just making a polished pop album & wants it to have a bigger era, that’s literally all there is to it lol. Sure she probs wants it to be successful but it’s not like her number 1 goal with this album is chart success.. Same with the “RIP hyperpop” thing like she’s most likely gonna be making more experimental music again in the future, she just wanted to make a clean polished pop album this time.

Hope is a Dangerous Thing 100%. I really have to be in the mood for that song to listen to it, it's gut-wrenchingly beautiful and makes me quite emotional Edit: I can't believe I forgot my biggest one - How To Disappear. I once said something super cringey to a friend while we were listening to that song, and now every time I hear it, my skin crawls because I think of that embarrassing moment.

Exactly bestie. This is why I'm generally annoyed by award ceremonies because they always give in to hype, thus tarnishing their credibility as a committee. I mean there's literally an unreleased Lana song that is suspected to date back to as early as 2004 (almost 20 years ago!!) Even though it's not under Lana Del Rey, it just shows that Lana has so much more artistic experience and validity

I'm lowkey underwhelmed with this album. Everything she's releasing is kinda overhyped. Don't understand me wrong. She has talent, she has voice and she has some great songs but many of them don’t vibe to me. 30 has some great moments. Strangers By Nature sounds like Hollywood-type Disney song, CYHO and OMG are bops, CIGI has power and some claw. All Night Parking issa vibe. LIAG is beautiful way to end the album. My Little Love and I Drink Wine will probaly grow on me. The rest...i wanted to turning off song in the middle.

Everything’s a hot mess right now but FINALLY my signed card arrived! It’s beautiful and the silver ink looks almost holographic in person, very reflective and bold against the more matte-like card. I don’t have tons of Lana merch, I just have what I have, so I feel so lucky to have been able to get something like this! The tail of the letter Y even has her finger print very clear on it hkfhgkjxhg 🥺💖
