a reason why im literally obsessed with the album cover for this album is because she's got that far off gaze in her face where she's looking at the camera with a slight tilt to her head almost giving off a bit of an attitude, she looks almost pissed off, extremely tired of the bullshit and even a little smug.. but there's also a lot of sadness there too... she has this exact same look on the ultraviolence album cover too, except she's tilting her head in the opposite direction. i feel weird cus this is a random observation but i finally figured out why i love the BB album cover and its because she looks the same way she does on the UV cover , classic lana

Y'all didn't complain about the same music box and xylophone sound effects on every Cry Baby song... y'all just want an excuse to hate her new stuff. And that isn't even bad, like she has to make the songs sound cohesive somehow. K-12 failed on that imo bc it made every song sound the same, but MM3 does it super well so far, the songs fit together but don't blend in w/ each other.

Why do y'all feel the need to bump that thead with the 101st edition of album rankings right now? Everytime I see this thread on the front page, I think there are some news about the Deluxe and then it's just some of you fighting whether EH is her best or worst album ever 💀

I wish Lana would do another NFR-esque cover in the future…or at least something a little avant-garde. I know some people hate it, but I found that it was creative and really solidified the record as this apocalyptic invitation in the day-to-day life of LDR.

just got inspired by this tweet. for those who were in the fandom in 2013-2014, what was your reaction to the change of sound? a lot of people hated it at the time apparently

Love listening to this album with Wild One, ITTJ, UFB & Fine China included Slightly bloats the tracklist but the first three balance the piano tracks well, and make it a more full-feeling album experience for me

Around the paradise tour I think it was just kinda organically headed that way anyway , but it was very satisfying. Like , other than the mystique of the honeymoon era, the utter Fire she was on during this era was insane. And then obviously with the untouchables leaking we kinda spoiled it anyways

also manifesting an existential moment specific to aging—so much of her music is about her youth, and I’d love to see a full circle moment Venice Bitch kinda had one (watching the neighborhood kids while also noting that she’s getting older), but we need a Landslide moment methinks

I’m probably alone in this, but if she works with Jack again, please bring back Venice Bitch’s fuzzy guitars!! Imagining Lana’s muffled vocals over something like this is heavenly

If there’s something I could ask for more than anything is for there to be an album trailer. I’ve always enjoyed watching them, and they’re so beautifully put together allowing for people to not only get a taste what the album will be like sonically but also visually. Both visuals and snippets of the songs also help drive the album’s theme, and create an imagery of what the era will be like. Not going to lie, I was kind of sad to see that we didn’t get an album trailer for Chemtrails or Blue Banisters, so I’m already assuming we won’t get one next era either; I can only hope!

Love the track titles! However, in Lana's style, it needs just a few more song with long a** names: 9. Dream as if you’ll live forever, live as if you’ll die today 10. The time is always right to do what is right 11. I will remember and recover, not forgive and forget ft. Azalea Bank.

I wouldn't be surprised if this next release outsells K-12 and After School. It has a lot of unique concepts that should draw in a wider audience, and it seems more experimental with its sound. Her past albums were very exclusive to the Cry Baby aesthetic both visually and sonically, which wasn't many people's cup of tea(and got her a lot of unfair criticism). I think K-12 was a great stepping stone for her growth as a musician and filmmaker, but I can tell she's ready to try something different. Let's hope her label doesn't push her into a corner with budget and approving tracks, like they apparently did with the last album.

I think ADIAML would've been much better without all those breakup songs like Pandora's Box or I Love You But I Love Me More. They're quite forgettable and do not fit the album theme at all. I understand that she wanted to express her feelings about her ex boyfriend but she could've released an EP with them instead. Also who feels like listening to an album that's about fighting patriarchy and then suddenly crying over an ex? There were so many important feminist / ecology / anti-patriarchy / anticapitalist / gender roles themes to explore and we only got a few songs about it. And really, if she thinks that singing "I'mma free, I'mma free womaaaaaan" in a deluxe will do this record any justice, she's wrong. I hope, however, that this song is not as hollow as it seems. Anyway, I still come back to Ancient Dreams, Venus Fly Trap, Man's World and Highly Emotional People. What great tunes. EH ≥ TFJ > FROOT >> ADIAML >> L+F

The Trio honestly fits so well I can't believe people are still acting like it doesn't It's a perfect little gut punch after announcing her pained departure in Arcadia before the deep dive she takes in Black Bathing Suit.

i love the trio and dealer, i think if it weren't for them the album would sound too long winded and one tone, it adds a dash of pop and energy imo

Blue Banisters is like a fine wine to me. Of course I loved it when it came out, but after this first month or so, it's become an album I see aspects of my own life in. It hits deeper now. And oddly enough, I can't help but wonder if the sharp changes and juxtapositions in sound throughout the album were done on purpose because of the time period(s) the songs were written about. This is probably her most personal record along with Ultraviolence in my opinion. It's just so beautiful. Even the tracks that aren't in my top five or anything are tracks that I adore.

It's one of the best songs she ever made and a lot of people aren't ready for that conversation.

I know it's too early but I hope we get some news soon just for the hype. Maybe she'll tease something in the Interview Magazine (if she's indeed in the winter issue). I mean I don't want anything very specific cause it's probably still a year away but I hope she talks a bit about the direction she's headed to for the next album sonically.

Oh, it's fucking brilliant, like so many others on this monumental album. Every spin of BB that I do I find new beautiful things on it. And I'm convinced that it wins the award for the most criminally overlooked album of 2021.

Agree with everything (especially my beloved Guns and Roses), except Coachella. The dramatic lyrics and that instrumental are just not that good to me. Do people dislike TNBAR though?? I thought that was a favorite in the fandom?

Almost all albums (in general) have the wrong song order. The less popular songs should be played first and the most popular at the end. That way you have a progression and know, even if you don't like a song, that there could be better ones. Otherwise, you listen to the most popular songs first, and the motivation to finish listening to the album decreases with each successive song.
