Fans have been wanting a proper Era 1 album for years, preferably with at least dark part of your heart included. That compilation they made fully butchered that concept lmao. If it actually did get scrapped last moment it’s def for the better.

The record was a pairing of two of the greats. I flew to NYC and recorded Stevie's vocal at Electric Lady Studios. Then Stevie came to my studio in LA and she and Lana sang together. Ethan Hawke has recently used it for the trailer of his Paul Newman/Joanne Woodward documentary, 'The Last Movie Stars.' I think it works beautifully."

The push they're giving Can't Do Better is so weird to me. They're acting like it's this big viral hit that's taking off and doing numbers but then you look at the numbers and it's 56k views on a lyric video released 2 weeks ago and 9k on a fan vid released 3 days ago... It's not giving viral hit. The fact that they went as far as to title the entire Era 1 compilation after CDB and the amazon show that featured the song... I don't get it. It's like they're playing make believe pretending Can't Do Better is having its own Lizzo Truth Hurts moment when it's really not. Sure that amazon show boosted the streams a little but cmon now...

I've finally listened closely to the songs and... why the absolute HELL did they decide to make her launch Obsessed as lead single it's like they were trying to throw her at the wolves. She has great material RIGHT THERE. Trendy, ideal-for-TikTok tracks? 2 Die 4, Could Have Been U, Lucky, I Surrender Hits? Lucky (again), Never Wanna See U Again, Nothing on but the Radio, Chords That Cry, U Had It Coming I get why NOBTR wouldn't be cleared for release, but the others? They're all miles better than Obsessed yet they picked that one to release and probably that's why she got a lot of hate. At least they should've greenlit a little EP with a good 6 tracks of the bunch... I guess a few standalone singles (Obsessed, Could Have Been U, Mess over U, LoveHateMiss, and maybe that unleaked Resist Me that screams it will sound like Obsessed) and then an EP (2 Die 4, I Got It Bad, U Had It Coming, Nothing on, Chords That Cry, NWSUA) would've been a great move.
