Music in general has been on a MASSIVE decline since 2013 and I fully blame social media. Remember when singers/writers/performers got famous because they actually had immense talent and worked really hard? Back then, you’d have to be super talented and be in the right place at the right time/know people in the industry. Now, all you have to do is post a video to YouTube or tiktok and you’re an ”artist”. I think most artists now go into music because they like music and singing - not because it is their sole passion to make music and can’t even fathom doing anything else with their life These new artists take up space in the industry and then there’s no room for all the real musicians, hence the decline of music and why nobody around now can compete with the stars pre 2013

Lana fan since 2012, Sky fan since 2010 and longtime lanaboards Sky Ferreira thread lurker here (y'all be killing me by the way, the laughs i have....too good). i must speak up! where is the music video? she told a magazine she was editing it herself....so why is it not being released?? why can't she release some sort of mixtape of new material like Charli XCX? or...why can't she release an EP of music she's done/been doing...is there any music? why are there so many years between music releases? if she actually cared about the music aspect of her career she would be putting music out constantly. it seems to me that she just feels that she has been so wronged in her Capitol deal that she's refusing to do anything unless there aree large amounts of money pushed for her. i just want to have an honest conversation with other fans. i'm not attacking her, i am just tired of the lies. i've been a fan for so long and it's just.......sad to see this shit.

I don't believe music reviewers should be a thing. It's not like food/restaurants, where there is an objective mastery of the technique (and even then, there are Michelin Star Restaurants that are not to many people's tastes), a high cost of entry for a really spectacular meal, and a more universal appeal/experience. If a music reviewer's opinions and thoughts influence whether you will listen to or whether you like a song, that's kinda sad tbh. Music is so accessible and cheap these days, just go make up your own opinion

I don't think BB having at least some nominations would be THAT unlikely... every year there are some albums that didn't make much noise in the nominations and some even win (for example Beck winning AOTY over Beyonce when his album was neither commercially or critically more successful than hers...) I kinda just want it to happen so she can attend and we get some nice red carpet pictures

Agree 100%. All the artists represented by TAP seem to have a lot of liberties and have very different endeavours. I imagine the first convo between Ed/Ben and a new artist is: How big do you want to be? Lana is an oddball and since uv, we have rumours that she wishes to be a recording artist mainly, like it was the case in the 60s. I think she learned how to compromise and she is very damn lucky that her vision of things (promo, albums…) is happening despite what the « rules of the industry » are usually about.

Don't worry you are not the only one who thinks this. She is well known for being a liar who keeps saying stuff before being contradicted by herself weeks/months/years later. Just take her for what she is: a singer with great songs and terrible work ethic with just one album released. It's OK to dislike the person/artist and love the art, and there are so many fans here that must accept that fact, it's impossible to keep defending someone who is not helping herself out.
