9 likes2.14 million streams on a Sunday, tomorrow is going to be crazy with the 3 songs currently trending + A&W re-stabilizing in the 250-300k region. Probably will also get a 30th week on the Billboard 200. Grammy noms and Spotify wrapped have done this album wonders. Drop the A&W video Lana it’s not too late!!

6 likesYeah I don’t think people realize how successful this album has been. I remember when UV and NFR started doing more daily streams everyone was quick to call it a flop but NFR and UV took years to build up to those numbers, Ocean Blvd has been so consistent since release, more than NFR was ~7 months after release. In the end, It’ll probably end up being 1. BTD 2. NFR/UV (these two are neck and neck) 3. NFR/UV 4. Ocean Blvd

4 likesthat horse photoshoot was probably for the album cover, i honestly wouldn’t mind if they made an album together, i saw a lot of people in the replies complaining but i’m really excited to see what they made, Breaking Up Slowly was one of the few COTCC songs that I actually liked on my first listen, the other songs had to grow on me Prettiest Girl In Country Music is good too so i would rlly like a studio version Imagine if they drop the album and everyone loves it after all the “get Nikki away from her” comments

Compared to this post of mine from November 8, she unfollowed the @capitolrecords account y'all. Considering she was following 3679 accounts back then and it's 3676 now, she very rarely unfollows people and one of them is @capitolrecords now. Yeah it's over. This is the biggest confirment we'll ever get imo. I don't think anyone noticed this before, I noticed only because I posted those two screenshots before in November. She still follows @capitolmusic though. She probably forgot, or @capitolmusic and @capitolrecords are different things and she only unfollowed the problematic one. -

Sam and Twiggy are like her day-to-day "managers" who like manage her schedule and travel and manage ELIO and those other artists with her, but her actual artist management has been with Brandon Creed since early 2018. He's actually largely responsible for getting her on a good page with Atlantic and getting Troye (another client of his) on 1999. I also think Lizzo was a client of his at the time of BIOYL but isn't anymore. Creed also manages Mark Ronson which was a big factor in getting Charli on the Barbie soundtrack that he was executive producing. -

She posted a pic at a recording studio… with all the recent hints of returning to the mixtape she also tweeted again about it with images from the original cd booklet / lyrics. it’s crazy to think she’s already back to recording SOMETHING… -

she's been cutting pretty dull guardian and amld, but she played innocent kind tonight. i think it's not an issue of not wanting to play the unreleased stuff it's an issue of she is always late so has to shorten the setlist -

Okay after 2 days of listening, here's my 2 cents: Fav tracks: Nicki Hendrix, Blessings, Just the Memories, Fallin 4 U, Big Difference, Pink Birthday, Pink Friday Girls, Everybody, Red Ruby Da Sleeze, Forward From Trini. Meh: Bahm Bahm I wish this album follows the futuristic, electropop, bubblegum, nearly-hyperpop sounds that I heard from tracks above instead of those generic ass trap beats all over. I'd say the first half of the album was kinda too overwhelming to enjoy: From that questionable sample direction of the opener - Are You Gone Already (im sorry, i love me some Nicki's vunerable moments, I love the lyrics and the delivery but the way she chose to sample Billie song sounds like a remix of Billie feat. Nicki Minaj, doesnt feel like her own track on her own album) to the generic trap sounds that I can hear ANY mainstream rapper does nowadays. When I listen to Nicki, I look for unexpected, and its kinda disappointed to see Nicki is too safe for majority of the record. The lack of theatrical rap (alter-egos), the lack of CAMP (Pink Friday & Roman Reloaded were camp af), the safe zone she hides behind those generic ass trap beats really ruin all the good delivery she brings in very potential tracks Barbie Dangerous, Beep Beep, Cowgirl, etc. From the album cover, I expected Nicki to ride on dopest futuristic, electronic, hyperpop-ish, dreamy, galactic beats that Cardi or rappers can even do. But we did not get to see more of this album and what it could have been. Regardless, its not a terrible album, I still can have fun with it here and there. And I have to give the credit where its due - Nicki showing her vunerable, soft side is the BEST Nicki - periodt. She isnt the best singer, but her vocals giving the pure fragility of a woman with a sentimental, melancholic feeling (even nostalgic, in the final track). -

3 likesTitle track is starting to gain traction on TikTok, song is currently doing ~150k daily on Spotify, maybe it’ll get closer to 200k these upcoming days! LTLI is also picking up again and should be clearing 600k daily again next week. Margaret is sitting comfortably in the 400k region. Ocean Blvd the hit album that you are

2 likesHer last single was beautiful because anything she does is immaculate, I hope it's a stand alone single or at least not the main vibes. Miss Lizzy is the best alternative artist alive right now, she changed pop music in a major way. I really hope the country, more folky sound was just a trilogy of the last three albums. And she made it work beautifully but I hope she ventures more towards her original sound, it would definitely slay and be more mature and experimental. For her next original album, it would be a dream if it would sound like a mix of the Paradise EP/Ultraviolence & LFL album. Thinking Gods & Monsters, PWYC, & Heroin vibes... Omg I would die. She NEEDS to work with those producers again.

Emerging from the shadows for a moment to say that I am genuinely very curious if we’ll be hearing anything from her after this tour… If she actually did part ways with Capitol, it’s very, very likely that everything she’s recorded while under them belongs only to them (even if she funded it herself). I know that’s what happened to Zella Day in 2019, and she had to remake 3 years of music so she could release the same songs under her new label. If Sky is not with Capitol anymore there’s a high possibility that whatever exists of Masochism up until this point is off the table—perhaps her and the label are both refusing to make any statements because they’re in a legal dispute now and she’s trying to get her songs back from them. At least the tour might cover her legal fees if anything of the sort is happening behind the scenes lol -

2 likesor, maybe, she can keep making awesome songs like candy necklace, ocean boulevard, buddy's rendezvous, and let the light in... and not let herself be overshadowed by billie eilish and phoebe bridgers also... i don't know what you mean by boomer music... a lot of great music came out of the 50s, 60s, and 70s... maybe you're just automatically associating old with boring

Worst Lana Lyrics
Guest123 and one other liked a post in a topic by Rorman Nockwell
I agree; I feel like she's above name dropping to that degree It's not so bad when it's some normy ("Jenny jumped into the pool") because it's fine to refer to people in the context of everyday events, but celebrity name dropping? Not really here for it unless it's purposeful ("Kanye West is blonde and gone" was meaningful so it's fine). Even "now that I'm singin' with Sean" was okay because it was like this wide-eyed "wow, look at me now" kind of expression but that's my point: she's done that before and DTWD name drops Joan 3 or 4 times (as well as others) and imo it's just too much. I'd be here for her referring to Joan (or anyone) in a more abstract way but "Joan did this" and "Joan said that" doesn't really do it for me With all that said, obviously the name dropping is coming from a place of admiration on her part and I get it, but yes, it's substantially cringe -

Absolutely, unequivocally: “Isn’t life crazy” I said, “now that I’m singing with Sean.” Especially when the original lyrics were the poignant and beautiful: Baby you have to forget, and I have to move on.
