the general idea is that AG started neglecting pc music when he was working charli, to the point that gfoty left the label because she was put on the backburner. someone in one of the facebook groups did gfoty's makeup once for a show, and was told by gfoty herself that she didn't want to talk about charli. there's probably some big reason why they haven't publicly interacted but i don't know it

Warm is a magical bop. I don’t know how it is always stuck in my head, after all this time, with no sign of it ever stopping lol

I think she picked oranges because in Paradise is Very Fragile she has a line about serpents on water colour paintings of orange trees - to me it symbolizes the ripeness of life and how it can be easily taken away, hence, the biblical reference with the snake. I think that fits really well with the poems tbh, as they all kind of are meditations on her life and how she’s working through family-of-origin and romantic trauma. I think it’s perfect! <3

I honestly am lightheaded at this thought. I'm lucky to say that I've seen Sky perform live 4 times (and seeing them at the same festival together - but on diff days) BUT SEEING SKY & CHARLI TOGETHER & CHARLI DOING TRUE ROMANCE SONGS -- I AM SO READY. I also love how not sober they are in the legendary "Grins" performance together lololol

I've slept so hard on Machine Gun Kelly's new album till now, so I've just heard forget me too. It's quite good but I definitely prefer halseys 'rock' vocals on Nightmare and Experiment On Me. She sounds kinda out of place and I think the song would have been better without her. But the music video has everything forgiven because it's so good can Halsey stop playing pop now and just be a problematic punk queen

these are all old unreleased songs from years ago, and who cares if the titles are “corny” if the songs themselves are good? anyways i like play date demo

I think I remember GFOTY shading Charli on social media? I’m not sure I do know that apparently GFOTY has always been jealous of Charli and how AG didn’t pay much attention to GFOTY with him focusing on Charli (Probably why GFOTY left the label)

https://inhaler.band/home Inhaler is an Irish rock band that debuted at 2017 with "I Want You" and consists of band members Robert Keating (bass), Ryan McMahon (drums), Josh Jenkinson (lead guitar) and Elijah Hewson (vocals, rhythm, guitar). That's right, Hewson as in legendary rock band U2's frontman Bono's son. Elijah has said in an interview that his dad won't help with the band though, which I think is good. I personally didn't know the group existed until yesterday afternoon when I was listening to the radio and the radio producer said they had just played their song (which was wrong and they corrected it later; it was some band called Idle, or Idol). I'm listening to them now and if you like rock music and songs that sound like they were made in the 80's, this band might be for you. They latest single, "When It Breaks", sounds less 80's though. (And I'm really liking it!) Since Elijah is Bono's son, they voices sound very similar, just like how Bono could sound like in the early years of U2. I don't mind though, I love U2 and think Bono has one of the best vocals out there, but I think Inhaler need to find their own path and create something different to not become a copy. Kind of like how Greta van Fleet needs to steer away from sounding too much like Led Zeppelin. It'll be interesting to see if they'll succeed with that, and I think they might have a chance.

Today is Blackout's 13th anniversary!!! All these years later and it hasn't even aged a bit, every single song still sounds very fresh (something B*****y J**n could never relate to). Get Naked is still a career highlight that pre-chorus alone

I just listened to LFL in full today and had a lot of feelings 1) I love this album IDCCCC love love LOVE 2) I love 13B and I used to hate it, the instrumental is phenomenal 3) I love how in love and heroin, the last chorus goes from you, to I (I’m flying to the moon again, I get ready I get all dressed up) 4)BAR belongs on LFL and you can’t change my mind 5) I’ll never remember going though my first huge heart break and love leaking like days later and sobbing to the song and video for a month straight 6) Groupie love is incredible 7) (only lowkey I still love the released) justice for title track 8) F all you haters it’s an incredible album

agreed. can't speak to the stuff about her personality or personal life that someone recently shared here, I had no idea about any of that, but I honestly don't give a shit if she keeps doing stuff like what she did with Experiment on Me. her and Miley going full rock at the same time would just be -chef's kiss-

The second pre-chorus (2:44 - 3:00) It was a LQ sounding snippet and honestly it sounded pretty believable for those not familiar with the song. They had called it "Intoxication" lol -

i get that if she added them it would be great because of streams but miley clearly cares about her body of work being actually cohesive so for her it wouldn't make sense to include tracks that are no longer part of the narrative she wants to play with this album there's always she is coming for mother's daughter and slide away will be on the streaming plataforms anyway i'm actually glad she did not included them because it gives more room for new songs - i wish she did not included the covers because that's 2 new songs that we're not getting - but i can see why she did it and it makes sense

LFL 100% should've started w/ 13 Beaches tbh. 13 Beaches -> White Mustang -> Lust For Life -> Love would've been a cute order I also think it would've made more thematic sense to have 13 Beaches as the opener bc it tells more of a story.... in 13B, she states (via film dialogue sample lol) that she "doesn't belong in the world / something separates me from other people", but by the time we reach Change and Get Free, she acknowledges the she is a part of the world no matter how outcast she feels, that she has to care about the people she feels separate from, that she's ready to move "out of the black and into the blue".

I’m glad she named it Plastic Hearts and not She Is Miley Cyrus. Never liked that title tbh, and I automatically relate it to the leaked songs so it’d be weird.

The song was underwhelming... like multiple have said on here she’s played it way to safe with this one. I want to hear some electric guitars inspired album or some dance. This is cheap pop radio material

Sorry but Joni never gave up her child to stay in the music business. She didn’t even start performing or writing music til she was pregnant and it was to make extra money for food because she was— wait for it— pregnant. She had no choice but to give up her child because she had no money or husband and in those days public shaming was a thing. Originally she married Chuck Mitchell so they could adopt her child but then he changed his mind and said he didn’t want to raise another man’s baby, so they got divorced and she started her career. She even said about it “if you make a good marriage, God bless you. If you make a bad marriage, become a philosopher.” That’s what she did, not the other way around. And she said it killed her when she made her fortune because she could finally afford her daughter and it was too late, she had a family. She even said not having her child was the big hole in her life that she tried to fill with songwriting and after she finally reunited with her daughter, her muse went away. She admitted she lost all her inspiration because it was just to fill a void. Yes her art is beautiful and I wouldn’t have wanted an alternate reality without it, but it’s just plain false to claim she chose her career over her child.

I don't have time right now to read the whole thing but i really like this piece so far. I like how they pick apart her influences and what devices she uses and it makes me happy to see since it's sort of rare to find people give lana the time of day for that sort of stuff. I also agree with the point about a lot of lines, specifically the "they say i come from money but i didn't" are too self indulgent. It's one of my biggest problems with violet. Poetry is inheriently self-centred, but what makes allen ginsberg and walt whitman good poets is how universal the language begins to feel. Lines like "people always accuse me of being rich but im not i swear!!" and "im funny when i drink (btw i swear ive been sober for 7 years)" are just plain uninteresting at best. They might be good topics for her to continue further on and delve into, but when she just puts lines in it like that it ruins the flow and makes violet harder to enjoy
