I think we’re all just kind of speculating that whatever covers Lana did of songs that are considered classics now (on the NFR tour especially: For Free, Wicked Game, and I would say Chelsea Hotel #2 but she already has officially covered that, of course) will end up on the American Standard & Classics record!

I would also add that L+F isn't a bad album, per sé. It's just basic for Marina's standards. You compare it to EH, FROOT or TFJ and you can see that. However, it's still better than some other albums out there

It’s not that L + F is without good songs, it’s that all of them (even the good ones) are produced with absolutely no character or anything at all to make them interesting. The production is bland enough that it sucks the life out of even the good tracks. The album art is some of the most basic ass stuff I’ve ever seen and it suits the music.

This sounds really good? I really hope this will be her redemption. I'm sick of people making fun of her and I'm sick of the L+F is bad talk. People need to forget that album ever existed.

Lana’s recent shoutouts from Bruce Springsteen have me curious if they’ve been working together. I could totally imagine Lana covering Secret Garden. In the track, he describes a woman who will always reserve a part of herself from others, and that access to her private headspace is the “secret garden.” Lyrically, it’s totally in the realm of 13 Beaches.

I shudder thinking someone as dull and one-dimensional as shawn mendes on a track with charismatic legend Miley. Thank god that didn't happen

I truly don’t dislike any of Lana’s songs. I’ve tried listening to all her released songs very carefully to see if there’s a song that I dislike, but there honestly isn’t a single one. ❤️

Zella is an amazing artist! I've been a fan of hers for almost 6 years now, and she's very talented. Shadow Preachers, Purple Haze, Man on the Moon, Hypnotic, and East of Eden are my top 5 favourite songs of hers I'd really just recommend to listen to her entire debut album Kicker.. it's still one of my favourite albums to this day. High & Jerome from that album are other ones I'd recommend.. and her Seven Nation Army cover is also really incredible. Get into ha! x

Sky is a fraud. The way she takes already finished demos from producers and songwriters, records some mediocre vocals and takes all the credit.

It's a real struggle out there. Lots of people losing jobs or their lives because of the pandemic. Are you able to get to a food bank? We have a few in NYC and thank god it's what's helping me and others going through the same. I don't know how this ugly expensive merch collection Lana put out keeps getting sold out. I have a feeling a lot of Lana fans use credit cards to pay for this stuff. At a time like this to drop $300 on junk that's not essential? I can't do it.

It confuses me a little, but I think she has actually three scrapped debut albums: Cry Baby (2010-11, with One, Obsession, As If!...), Wild at Heart (2012, with Cecil Diamonds, Red Lips, Lost In My Bedroom, Swamp Girl, Pretty Dull, etc.), I'm Not Alright (2012, an updated version of Wild at Heart with songs like I'm Not Alright, Boys, 24 Hours, On Top, etc.) and then she shifted to Night Time, My Time (briefly titled I Will). So Cecil Diamonds would've been for her second scrapped debut album, Wild at Heart.

fam i know ur not contrasting a real genuine problem in our world (nazism) with the bibles equivalent of the boogeyman... personally, i’m not anti-republican...i think sometimes less government intervention does results in better prices and freedom of choice. but the modern day GOP doesn’t represent traditional republican values. Trump and the GOP are actually doing a very anti-conservative thing by dictating who gets access to healthcare, abortion, a working justice system, tax cuts, and who’s 401k thrives. If the GOP was lead by Romney, I would disagree with him, but i wouldn’t necessarily think he’s a threat to Western Democracy. If the 2024 Election comes down to Nikki Hayley vs. Kamala Harris, I won’t be having a panic attack if Hayley takes a lead on election night. You see what I mean? No ones saying being conservative is bad, but Trump is no conservative.

It’s not a bad album but it’s probably Marina’s weakest material she has put out. If this album was done by a different artist I think they would have mastered it better than Marina. With the history of Marina’s past material, the album wasn’t dumbing down her artistic vision but rather she decreased it. We all know Marina is able to put out well cohesive and consistent albums with storylines that match with the aesthetics and instrumentations flawlessly. However this album didn’t really have much of that and it felt flat. Again, it’s not a badly produced album, it just doesn’t fit with Marina’s image and style.

Look I understand collecting vinyl, well designed t-shirts, even her bad (imo) poetry but that box is a clear as day rip-off I dread to think of how much it actually cost to produce and the mark up. Edit- I've done some research and looked up each product that is close as possible to the actual contents. To be fair I've tried looking for the cheapest option aswell whilst being an actual decent product. Details in the spoiler.
