19 likesHi guys! I'm new here, been lurking you for a while. I'm super excited for new album. I wanted to say how special the title track is for me. I love her vocals like wow.. The way she's switching from strong voice to kind of whispering is so deep And that scared me 'Cause I met a man who Said he'd come back every May Idk this track makes me feel like she's singing about some very traumatic experience and I always feel some kind of numbness after listening to it like the man she met really hurt her. Also the instruments reminds me of Black Beauty demo and I think they might be sister songs

15 likesNot to gloat, but I'm gonna smack back my bitch up. NFR's pre-release threads will show that I predicted the level of acclaim NFR got, down to its status as a modern classic in music circles. It's something I never felt for any of her other records, including COCC right after. (Also came in with a heads up that scholars/professors/music snobs were seeing that she was one of the more influential artists of our time before Pitchfork compared her to Dylan.) I don't think BB is going to be as acclaimed, based on what we've heard, if only because NFR had a sort of mythical scope of Americana that appeals to critics, and this record seems to be more personal and intimate, but I'm thinking her second Grammy nod for AotY is almost certain. Might even win in that classic "make-up for the previous snub", since there is a general consensus that she deserved to win for NFR, but that will also depend on the culture/factors leading up to voting. I don't think it's going to get high 9+ from music publications, but high 8s? Certainly. It'll be her most acclaimed behind NFR. Further essays that over-analyze her authenticity? For sure! A huge crowd coming around to her? Yep.

10 likes2 weeks to go manifesting bonkers bridges and i really love when she references other music either lyrically or through a particular production move, it's always such a highlight, so manifesting that too (give me more nirvana/pink floyd refs, or any other artist that she's loved throughout her life)

10 likesI'm not saying anyone has to like duets (I'm no big fan pf them either) but this is one of the few collabs of hers shere the duet actually makes sense. If it was another LFL/BPBP situation where she had a solo song and randomly picked out lines to give them to a feature artist, I'd understand the want for a solo version (and would probably feel that way too). But the whole story Dealer is telling only works as a duet. If she'd sing it all by hersepf it would lose a lot of it's meaning. I also prefer songs with just her but wanting a track to be solo just for the sake of it ... nah

8 likesLana and barrie leaving their differences behind after all those years and releasing their stuff, like riverside, living legend. They reached what they wanted for the ''best american record'' and they know that.. Also if you think about that, through all the songs he could chose to release, he chose the one with the chorus ''finally, im getting close to the dream'' .

7 likesPsychic moment....I just know once BB is out she's gonna keep her foot on our necks she's really been up to something and she seems like reinvigorated lately, she looks very confident. With mike saying he planned to work with her a lot in the future and all the collab rumours i think she's gonna go for another panoramic outward-looking album bc BB is gonna be her autobiographic moment i think we're due for another "America analysis". And with all the middle fingers she's been throwing up and tits she's been getting out i know it's gonna be hot and she's gonna be reading the girls

7 likes2023 AOTY is probably going to Adele already . As long as the Grammys keep changing her into pop categories I don't think she'll get one cause at the end of the day mainstream appeal is (sadly) a huge factor for a win in the main awards. AOTY seems to be a fair category sometimes (for example when Kacey won for Golden Hour versus Cardi, Drake and Post Malone) but I don't know if she'll get another nomination there even if she releases a better album than NFR (she already did x2 tho )

7 likesShe is stunning . I love both videos but I do really enjoy this one a little bit more. The scenery is beautiful, her swing, her dress, everythiiiing. I've been taking a break from listening to the singles she released but I had to listen to Arcadia again with this music video. Hoping we'll have more videos coming in the weeks ahead We're getting so close to Blue Banisters

6 likesThat is correct! There were two reasons, one being a release date technicality, and also a smear campaign by an academy member which influenced the other members of the academy to nominate a different song he had personal connections too (which was later revoked from the list). 6 likesDoes anyone think nobody might have the album as of right now this time around, despite what the insiders want to suggest? It seems suspicious to me that the only song that leaked is one that was intended for Chemtrails at first, which might explain why some people had access to it? Also, maybe some of the crumbs of information given to us like Eclipse saying a few of the unreleased songs haven’t been reworked are just educated guesses based on the length of the songs he could have had knowledge of. Maybe there are some other proofs I’m forgetting but this era really seems more secretive for some reason and it’s keeping me on my toes!

5 likesI may not remember it entirely correct, but it was something similar that happened to Bruce Springsteen in 2008. Both his song, and YaB were the frontrunners for the award, but they were disqualified because they had been 'released'/'written' outside of being specifically "for the film". Basically, they were considered "reused", and thus not merited, I guess. As if they can prove that for the myriads of other songs they nominate.

5 likesIt's really interesting how her whole career before this album was based on "daddy issues" and whatnot, at least that's how she was always perceived by the critics due to the lyrics in her songs, yet in the opening track on this record she says "i guess you could call it text book, i was looking for the father i wanted back" - and then proceeds to change the narrative of her story by explaning her mother issues, her very real issues behind the aesthetically pleasing curtain, and then on the final track she sings with her father and is strong enough to confront the real cause of her pain throughout the years she's really changed the game
