Lana as well as Jack Harlow, Olivia Rodrigo, Lil Nas X, Billie Eilish and Finneas; BTS, Polo G, City Girls, Normani and Kali Uchis will be celebrated during a luncheon on December 4th! The pre-show/red carpet event will be hosted by Amazon Music. She will be awarded the "Decade Award": "In October 2011, Lana Del Rey released her first single, 'Video Games,” and a star was born. A decade later, she is regarded as one of the most influential singer-songwriters of the 21st century thanks to Grammy nominations and critical acclaim for her albums “Norman Fucking Rockwell,” “Born to Die,” and in the last year, “Chemtrails Over the Country Club” and “Blue Bannisters.'" https://variety.com/2021/music/news/variety-hitmakers-jack-harlow-olivia-rodrigo-lil-nas-x-lana-del-rey-1235115745/?fbclid=IwAR0ACGoceAL1tfi2Em9amzR4PBtYkq5KToy3oW3zNVHrk2n3-jl9IMvaUWE

I'm so happy and proud of her. This also reminds me that Born to Die is about to be 10 years old.

When COCC came out I had ear issues (late 2020-early 2021 were a Weird period of time for my hearing it was a whole journey) and certain specific sounds would trigger tinnitus & for some reason I had that with Wild at Heart, especially during the outro like jfc i was hearing all types of WEEEEE sounds in my right ear during that & the louder she got the louder the ringing got. It was driving me insane lol so now I absolutely hate that song, even tho I don't have that issue anymore. It makes me want to throw up. Trumatic truly.

Absolutely deserved. Lana is by far one of the most influential and incredible artists of the 2010s, and I love seeing her and her work honored like this

I think she's coming back to jazz. Blue Banisters featured a lot of brass The trio interlude also says a lot. Also lets not forget she was imitating a s a x o p h o n e the whole time we thought it was an electric guitar

This album feels like a rediscovery of her love for music. It makes 25 feel so by-the-numbers and so contrived, even though I loved it at the time. Like this is so much more varied and playful. It makes 25 seem like an album made by a 50 year old. Hard to believe she was actually so young at the time. This feels a lot younger and representative of her personality.

does lana know how much coin she could make by restocking her alt vinyl variants from UV, HM, and LFL, boxxsets, coke necklace, and releasing a compilation of her unreleased songs. she wants to make that cash for indigenous communities as reperations...feels like a cool + smart way to go ab it

My Lana album wishes: 1. a record that sounds like AKA 2.0. with that indie sounding production, dreamy and eerie sound amd vintage glamour. Manifesting Mermaid Motel demo energy. 2. a dark and sexy blues rock album that sounds like Dealer and Sad Girl 3. full acapella album recorded from a zoom call with diet mtn dew baby and bellevue vibes (I unironically want this)

but let's be honest, the messiness makes it 10x more fun, it wouldn't be a proper lana del rey pre-release era without the antics

The full Honeymoon album is something I've been playing less and less because it kinda puts me in an emotional landscape I'm trying to avoid right now - it does make me remember about *happier* times in my life and I think right now I just can't take it. Hopefully when I'm in my Yosemite era I'll be able to enjoy it better again.

Honestly I avoid most of UV. Is it great art? Yes. But I do NOT need to be in the headspace on the daily. It alonside Live Through This and In Utero are albums that saved my life, and were deeply important to me at a time I needed them, but also are no longer energetically a match for me. I can listen to a specific song occasionally, but no listening to the entire albums screaming along many times a day like it's my senior year of high school again

I’ve mostly worked past it but the whole LFL album used to be a pretty heavy/difficult listen for me. It came out maybe a year or so before what was probably the worst time of my life in terms of mental health (depression & anxiety plus dating an abusive parter with addiction issues). It was kind of a comfort album during that time and after it was all over, though I still quite liked the album, I just couldn’t make it all the way through most of the time. Particular sore spots were TNC, Heroin, and Change

everyone else is just being honoured for the year. lana's the only one being honoured for the decade. so it makes sense the rest are trendy new stars. the other legends would've been lana's competition if anything.

Not to talk down on them at all because I think they're very talented in their own right, but I think it's super interesting that the artists Lana has inspired are also being honored. It really shows how influential her music is to newer artists even in small ways. We've gotten to a point almost 10 years after BTD where we can now see the fruits of Lana's labor. She is just such an incredible artist and I am so happy over this
