That post makes me smile and reminds me of why we feel so connected to someone who doesn’t know we exist, but is there in spirit. She is so right — it can be a lonely road when other people express their negative projections onto someone who prioritizes being embodied and striving to meet themselves, but ultimately the way you live your life and how you treat people is a work of art in itself and I believe everyone is an artist.

Getting ready for the BTD 10th anniversary edition livestream? A music video? To head down to 7/11 for chocolate, coffee- and a banana? I'm so curious

i'm making this post a day early... happy 10th birthday, amazing, evocative, & world-changing BORN TO DIE! this is the album which brought lana del rey into stardom, notoriety, & catapulted her into the legend status she has worked hard to achieve over the years with other incredible albums such as "ultraviolence" & "honeymoon", this album contains some of her most polarizing & fascinating work, every song is it's own mystery, & every guitar pluck, vibrant lyric, & crooning of lana's sweet & distinct voice is a little hint of what it all means, this album is a deliciously dark mix of 40s/50s opulence & sordid stories of troubled love, despair, & hope, it's a true work of art & it is one of a kind, & i'd say it's aging like the finest wine, mixing together so many sounds & genres from different periods of time, i could easily say that it's timeless, however, many people didn't understand lana when she first arrived into the mainstream, she was faced with so much criticism because people couldn't understand her, they said she was a fake, she couldn't sing, she was weird, people thought she wasn't a good influence, however, i strongly disagree, her music is geniune & real, millions of people can relate to her music, she writes her songs in a way where they can beautifully fit any situation, feeling, or experience, in a way where you can see things in a new way, maybe with a new sense of beauty, even in things that may not appear beautiful at first glance, this album will stand the test of time & will continue to inspire & comfort, this is, the fantastic, notorious, polarizing, show-stopping BORN TO DIE! HAPPY 10TH BIRTHDAY!

That was one of the most beautiful thing she has ever shared. The way I can hear her saying “really?!”

“Because you take and you take and take and you take, but you taste like the beach and a kiss. Candy for my eyes, in my veins you run citrus.” - Paradise Is Very Fragile “I think that you taste like rock candy Sweet like beaches, leave me all sandy” - Watercolor Eyes

I mean.. this is a music discussion forum, not a circlejerk of positivity. It’s annoying when one person shares the same negative opinion over and over again but the reason why you’re seeing a lot of the same opinions is cause a Lot of people share those same opinions. The “stop complaining, get over it, just enjoy the music” argument is so dumb tbh like why be on a music discussion forum if you only wanna see positivity & praise… You want the people that have criticism to keep it to themselves lol? That kinda fully defeats the purpose of this site.

that was so wholesome! I love how Lana’s the expert of idealizing mundanity in a really simple but pretty way (like in Video Games)

The media Lana consumes/posts often crops up into her own art (Women Who Run With The Wolves, Henry David Thoreau, etc.), so I’m curious if these recent poem posts have any significance. The poem from yesterday (in my interpretation) seems to focus on how losing something/someone you cherish gives your life a sense of mystery or anticipation for what will come next. The excerpt from today seems to touch on learning to treasure both the ideal and the horrible aspects of one’s life. It seems like she’s been reflecting a ton on her own losses (maybe familial, romantic, emotional, etc.) in an accepting way. I know that’s a bit vague, but these are the same sentiments we saw in tracks like HIAB, Venice Bitch, Love, LFL, Blue Banisters, and so on! Just a random observation lol

Lana's been posting a lot of poetry lately. I wonder if she's been writing more poems (I hope so, I love Violet and I'm really looking forward to Behind The Iron Gates)

It would be painful for Lana not to acknowledge the anniversary. I think she will say something, but it would be beyond rude to fans and herself really to say nothing to the album that basically opened the door for her. I think her label should have done a re-release Its a very big mistake not to.

It's you, it's you, it's all for you Everything I do I tell you all the time Heaven is a place on earth with you Tell me all the things you wanna do I heard that you like the bad girls Honey, is that true? Ten years ago, this was the poetry that made me enamored with LDR and her music. The echoes of 50's Hollywood glamour, unrequited love, living on the edge between heaven and hell, and the stars aligning in perfect unity to create this record that would bring me so much comfort through some of the most challenging moments in my life. I'm currently listening to Video Games now, a decade later, and it still feels timeless as ever, and that feeling of timelessness shines through this sublime and life changing record. A true cultural reset, and i'm so proud of how expansive her catalog has become, and how she still presents unique perspectives through music. Here's to another ten.

The typewriter post is so sweet I love the way that Lana writes, it's so personal and simple, but so beautiful at the same time. I hope she posts more things like this in future. But I'm not gonna lie, the typewriter format was kind of a jumpscare lol.

It’s pretty 50/50, but whenever her typewritten posts look like this, she’s using the Hanx Writer app for iOS! Some of the pages in Violet are direct scans of linen cardstock on which she wrote with an actual typewriter (a Royal Scriptor II to be precise!)

it's intriguing that both poems seem to talk about embracing uncomfortable feelings & uncertainty, as they could be guiding you towards something better for you, it makes you wonder what is happening in her life that could've inspired her to share these two poems with similar meanings

But it's different cause it's a cover of a FJM track I loved the past 3 albums and they sound different enough to me to not consider them as NFR 1 2 and 3 so I'm satisfied enough with the variety but I miss her really jumping from genre to genre. The BTD - UV - HM shift is unmatched

Which is part of a double album? And it seems she def wants to use both of the album covers she posted....

also when it comes to the opinions in this thread, i mean, it’s a forum, that’s kinda the point, everyone’s gonna share + discuss their opinions whether they be negative or positive and what else do you expect when the negatives have been outweighing the positives lately
