She released 2 albums last year...

This woman has released an album pretty much every year since Born To Die. She released a poetry book in 2020 and 2 albums in 2021. Let her breathe a bit and perfect the album so no one's complaining about "rushed" this or rushed that. Don't say you're over LDR 8 when we all know that you will be streaming whether it comes out in 6 months or 6 years from now.

This is unpopular but I don't really mind Ben's updates, we know not to take them too seriously but they also are nice reminders that an album really is coming, even if it's not our definition of soon

I feel like Ben’s problem is he can’t talk about Lana without also talking about new music. If he’d just post about her achievements (W magazine, the Hollywood bowl concert, her billboard chart milestone) without adding “new music soon” to every single one, fans wouldn’t be so irritated

btd has always been successful and there's various songs from her discography going viral, not only from btd they definitely wanted her to go back to this type of sound (meeting with adele's producer for ultraviolence, asking her to record an extra radio friendly song for honeymoon) but she proved them wrong on several occassions so i don't even think there's any discussions of this sort at this point in her career nor it should be

I mean besides than the June comment the others kinda make sense... In May we got the interview about the album confirming it. She finished the album between August and September And now she's ready to release the lead single since she sent the record to vinyl production already

i hope she just has random posters put up all around major cities randomly w the album cover title and date for us to see when the rollout actually starts

The fact that nothing came of Don't Forget but you all still have any resemblance of hope for an album after 10 years of being edged by this crackhead. I'm so sorry dolls! You all deserve so much better. At least Ghost EP and Night Time, My Time secured her legacy as an iconic niche indie-pop queen. Let's at least celebrate that.

When Ben says soon he really means that it’s like 7 months away. He said Ellie Goulding had new music coming out soon in January, and it didn’t come out until July.

ben is being truthful when he says new music soon because he plans on leaking crazy for you later today

I don’t mind waiting. But saying “coming soon” repeatedly irks me. Just don’t tease anything unless it’s like a month away or so.

I don't think they meant that Lana needs to release something today. Nobody minds waiting if we get something really good. It's more like, if you tell us that something is coming "soon", then something should be coming soon (and that doesn't mean next year). If Lana's in the middle of working on an album, her managers should just refrain from posting about the album as if it's basically already done because it sets up false expectations.

last time lana used soon was when she said "album out soonish" in july and the album came out in october so.... soon should be less than 3 months? but you never know with her anymore

I honestly don't mind that there's been a bit of a break between the last two projects and whatever this upcoming one ends up being. I loved getting two albums in one year, but it was really chaotic and neither album really had enough time to marinate/have a proper rollout, which is something that Lana usually does (in her own way, of course ). I don't think it's gonna be a major amount of time until the LDR9 era starts though because there's usually not too big of a gap between albums. The things we have gotten from Lana this year (the Italy trip/Gucci show, the W magazine shoot and her being in New York, her Honeymoon posts) have me excited to see what comes out of this next era

She could at least drop Descending before the year ends to tide us over! We know it’s ready so she might as well

Yes please. The UV billboards and the Love posters were one of my favorite things ever as a Lana stan I miss that kind of hype and teasing

As long as her sales stay consistent I really don’t think her label is going to put a lot of pressure on her to release a specific kind of song. LMLYLAW and COTCC (two slower songs) were the only singles off Chemtrails before the album dropped, and that album still managed to break records when it comes to vinyl sales. in my opinion, the only thing the label is going to do is make sure physicals are available when the album drops (so no surprise/digital only drop) because that’s basically all the income they get from Lana. She doesn’t tour, and no offense to her, but I can’t see her merch bringing in a whole lot of money

Well, if the lead single of an album comes out in the next six months, « soon » was not a lie. Unless you’re Sky Ferreira seriously, guys, it’s surely the calm before the storm: the album for 2023 is a sure bet, a poetry book is probably coming also, the cover album has some songs already recorded, and there are surely collabs / side tracks that could be out in the meantime. True, it’s a bit dry at the moment, but we’ll be fed, I’m sure.

chemtrails and bb both had chaotic rollouts and she announced everything so quickly and sporadically and i think she’s trying not to do that here. i honestly think she wants a more proper era – she hasn’t really been promising anything before it’s done (just teasing songs, giving some insight, a snippet, teasing the existence of ldrx) and hasn’t been giving random album names & dates. hopefully that means this album will have a stronger rollout when we actually get to it

I'm almost sure that's the case. I don't think they would try to make Lana record a specific type of song cause she probably just makes her albums as she want and then maybe takes some light advice from the label... but if there's something on the upbeat side in the coming album they will definitely try to push that as a single. I don't think Lana can be "tricked" into that tho cause all her latest singles have been ballads and even if the respective albums were on the slow side anyway I'm sure Interscope wanted TFJ as a single for example (and it was at some point considering it was the title track...). The same as IYLDWM being featured in some spotify playlists when BB was released Chemtrails wasn't that slow but it was the title track so it was bound to be a single anyway At this point it's probably a tug of war between Lana writing and releasing whatever she wants and the label trying to get the maximum profit with what they get
