30 likesI think L4L doesn't belong to any "trio" simply because L4L serves as a "bridge" between "BTD-UV-HM" & "NFR-COCC-BB" . As Lana said in the "monologue" (Lust for Life album trailer) - "Amidst all the uncertainty, and as we transition out of one era into another one..." i dont think she only referred to her then "new era" Lust for Life. Thus it's more than that: "Lust for Life" is no doubt an era that connects between the two trilogies, while the album discussed about her past relationships with her lovers in a new manner & the idea of "fortune & fame", how her mindset of "being in love" has evolved, her future hopes, her social commentary & "a celebration of life" for her fans - It's like this record reflected who she is, a spiritual ritual of her to letting go of her old self & embracing the new woman she had then become, a perfect intermission between 2 trilogies. Notice how she started the album with songs like Love / 13 Beaches - with the traditional "Del Rey" sounds, and then ended the album with something so fresh like "Get Free"? The genius is also the way "Get Free" ends with seagulls & ocean waves sounds, which symbolises her standing in front of the ocean, ready to "get free" to the sea & the sky, somehow led to the beginning of the NFR era - the first record of the new "trilogy" - the era that she emerged surf culture into her music for the first time & the album artwork was her literally sailing in the middle of the ocean. Thus, LDR9 might be the "bridge" just like L4L, between this trilogy and the "new one", which is LDR10 i suppose.

26 likesI think the dead giveaway of what ldr9 might sound like is Lana's appearance in the last few months, we know she always embodies the aesthetic of her art around the time it's being made like most obviously UV with the eyeliner, leather jackets and jeans, LFL with her "baddie" looks and when she got into country the cowboy boots were on I mean.......i just feel like all signs point to ldr9 being sexy hot fly and beautiful

17 likesHonestly? Nothing. And not in a bad way. I really wouldn't mind if she just took a year to rest and spend time with her family/animals, she deserves it. She put out two albums in one year this year. However, since I'm pretty sure she does plan to start something new next year, I'm just excited about whatever music we get from her and finding out what DNC means

12 likesMy thoughts on the “trilogy” comment that others have echoed sentiments of and touched on: Even though BTD, UV, and HM are sonically very different, the composition, subject matter, and writing styles are all very similar across the albums. Her first three records—in my opinion—had a heavier emphasis on grandiosity and mystery which lended to a very escapist, transportive quality in both the production and storytelling. The writing (with some exceptions) had different stylistic choices compared to her past three records. While her early work was largely characterized by weaving together sensory details to create an impressionist tapestry of her memories and emotions, records like NFR, COCC, and BB are far more diaristic and conversational, making it some of her most intimate work to date. In my opinion, both the organic production and confessional songwriting traded some of the secrecy and enigma behind Lana Del Rey for vulnerability. As others have suggested, LFL showed that Lana is capable of juggling both, penning the poetic and revealing while also piecing together these imaginative pockets of reality to plunge the listener in. I’m not sure what this means for LDR9 and the albums to come, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a new shift (however that will manifest). Lana’s incredibly versatile, and regardless of whether it’s merely an extension of the past 3 records, I think something refreshing is headed our way!

11 likesThe way we’ll never get surprises from Lana bc of insiders we already have lyrics and an apparent release date of next month and Lana hasn’t said a word

11 likesActually im okay with Lana doing "country" As long as it doesn't give "Breaking Up Slowly" vibes. I prefer the folky kind of country like Not All Who Wander Are Lost, Yosemite or even jazzy-like "Dance till we die" But yep, i see her country enough already, it's time to manifest something fresh & experimental (but if she still goes country, at least that's what i'm manifesting about her new music).

let me just point this out: Hannah and AG did a hell of a job with the aesthetic for this era. We will NEVER have this again, one of the most saddest things about the XCX era for me is that they snapped so hard with imagery, sound and theme however it was ahead of its time… indeed her artpop era -

i've seen a lot of criticism on CTMP being an opener by several people on this thread, so don't mind me asking but where do y'all put it? like fr, i can't envision it being anywhere else in the tracklist. it's the perfect album opener for me and it sets the mood for track 2 (which we all know is BOUNCE ) -

9 likesWOW very artfully said. i never thought of it this way but you're toooootally right. i was so sick of lana after ultraviolence & honeymoon. i couldn't really get into them. they felt even more dismal than born to die somehow. i just felt like it was going deeper and deeper, harder and harder, getting darker and darker etc etc :/ but then LFL came around and i was...... FULLY OBSESSED with this woman again lmao. i still think its her most ambitious album, and if it was a 14 track album, it WOULD be her best work. it is still my favorite, but, i think certain song choices really brought it down. and it helped me to appreciate honeymoon and ultraviolence a million times more. i don't know how or why. lmao. but i personally really hope BB was the bridge cause i like the album a lot in theory, i just felt disappointed compared to NFR & COTCC. i wouldn't mind seeing jack again but i would love if we could reinvent the wheel yet again. but i'll be streaming no matter what it is!

9 likeshere are my two cents. i don’t think that the whole trilogy thing was supposed to be taken seriously. i thought it was more of an exaggeration and put this new lana (nfr/cocc/bb) in a box, and it so happens to coincidentally be a trilogy just as the old lana (btd/uv/hm) with the next trilogy ahead, lana will be in a way different level than this one!

9 likesthank you for blessing us with this wisdom also let's be real... if she's already out with merch and boz + eclipse are already talking about the album being 80~90% done based on the language they're using... is manifesting even gonna do anything? let's be real here

9 likesI’m personally more inclined to believe Eclipse and Boz, honestly. No shade at all to honeymoun, but iirc, Boz & Eclipse are better known as actual insiders as opposed to just more leaker-oriented accounts Also, insiders going on the record to say she’s going in a new/better direction when her past 3 records have been very organic is a big claim that they must be confident in. After the false release date for BB, I would imagine that insiders (I can’t remember which) are being more careful in terms of their reputations for being reliable That being said, I definitely think a new sound is coming! Could it be very similar to NFR? Sure, but I personally think we’re getting something a bit more novel and less stripped back even if it’s in the same vein as NFR!

Well, in my opinion, Come to My Party is an obvious opener because it invites you to her party world, like, the base of her aesthetics to the album... I don't give a f if it jumps directly into the lyrics. Who the hell cares. Girls Night Out has this intro everyone adores but I feel it fits better right after Charli called you to invite you to her party so you just get ready to get out with the girls and then Girls Night Out comes into the tracklist. Just me, but okay. Besides, the songs flow in a good way like that - and I just added 100 as a bonus track because I felt if this album was released it would've had a lot of "territorial" bonus tracks, like one for Japan, one for German, one for Italy etc lol. My digital version has Offline as bonus, and I've also put either Focus, Boys or Miami as well. Eek, but sorry for offending y'all with my choice for tracklist lol, it's truly not even the *worst* I've seen. Let me just ask, have y'all seen Taxi as an opener? Bounce as an opener? Or people including songs from 2018-9 in it? (1999, Lucy Liu ) Taxi or Come to My Party as a closer? Now that's what I call a less cohesive (but not horrible, my god, subjective taste) tracklist. @Motorcycle Love Divine it's true, it's a very obvious intro choice I'm glad I'm not the only one seeing it. -
8 likesIf there are piano ballads on this album, I hope they're like Riverside, Love Song and Beautiful (Strings Version)

8 likesI’m okay with Jack being on board again as long as he is not the sole producer of LDR9. Lana and him created some of her best songs together and as much as Chemtrails has its flaws, both albums feel like they’re hers and not a copy paste of all the albums he produced for pop singers lately (Lorde’s is the worst in the matter IMO). all the insights we got from Eclipse and BoZ lately have me hoping for another « American classic » in her discography (the way BTD and NFR are). It would be so iconic if LDR9 was her bestselling record after a decade in the game

7 likestbh my take on this whole thing is I trust Eclipse more than BOZ + HM but what they said is just like so vague and uninteresting anyways i just dont even care. maybe its better for them to say something really distant than spoiling literal lyrics like BOZ just did for RCS but idk. i'm just as hyped for LDR9 as anyone but i really didn't need either of those things from these guys
