The Ukrainians will not surrender and they are not going to do it just so your ass could continue to sit peacefully in England. There are huge queues at the military registration and people actively take up arms to defend their land. It's THEIR choice. Many Ukrainian kids and women now spending their days in bunkers.

That I guess is true but saying this in a thread about Putin's completely unprovoked war, with people dying and losing their homes, is a little insensitive. You can say that you disagree with a government but it just sounds like you're making excuses for this war. Whatever you dislike about Zelensky kind of has no relation to what Putin is doing because it was never about justice or saving anybody. Putin is a right-wing imperialistic madman. I think a combination of both. I think he underestimated how much Ukrainians would resist occupation. He definitely has the Soviet leader mindset in that he thinks people will just shut up and do what he says - and my impression is that this has largely been the case in the past. Among my Russian friends, they usually never want to talk about politics and they either shut down the discussion if someone asks, or they make a joke about Putin and then change the subject. People have disappeared or been killed for criticising him, so it's not surprising. But with this - this seems like the last straw for many Russians, and I have a feeling that he'd be surprised by the reaction from them. Maybe older Russians feel differently, but many of my friends are posting about this in support of Ukraine and are attending protests, etc. They're not staying quiet and I'm so proud of them, because that isn't without risk. Sorry to rant, I've just been thinking about this a lot.

Her performing on festivals means nothing. Festivals can hire people who haven't had an album for decades if they want to. The biggest festival in my country became stingy in the last 5 years and started hiring musicians who were popular 5-10 years ago. Tyga, Major Lazer, David Guetta and DJ Snake was performing in 2021. Sky and Skillex are perfect candidates. We be getting millennial throwback acts.
