The article was so tacky and disrespectful you can really feel her production credit omission was on purpose. Sue really shit all over the lyrics & vibe while basically saying the production was the only redeeming factor, conveniently leaving out that Sky had anything to do with it. Even more embarrassing that sky was just talking about that in an interview!!! Happened in real time the song is alright to me personally, i think i’d enjoy it more within the album. I’m still not really gonna let myself feel any excitement for this until the album is here honestly.

I guess only few people with exquisite taste can appreciate the masterpiece that Don't Forget is and that's absolutely fine

Don't Forget is amazing y'all just forgot what good music sounds like cause you haven't heard good music in almost 10 years Also that pitchfork article is clearly just bait lmao they knew they would get all the attention by bad mouthing a HIGHLY anticipated song every other critic is loving. (and it worked cause that article is probably getting tons of clicks/views)

sky's vocals being "drowned" has always been part of her signature sound, her voice being mixed between instruments rather than being in a privileged spot in the design is something that goes back to NTMT –for example: the whole album lmao but like boys, ain't your right, omanko etc. and the same applies for her "noisy production". sky's music is not for you if you consider don't forget "horribly mixed", and that's ok, but don't pretend like that's your hot take and not just a matter of personal preference.

I really want this album to have lots of yelling, something similar to Noir, Dealer, and True Love on the Side. (Or she could do a complete 180 from that, and have a sort of lush Young and Beautiful-esque sound, she did mention orchestral sounds!)

pitchfork are extremely sloppy, you can tell they’ve done minimal research and just listened to the song once or twice. Honestly a high school drop out would have written a better review it’s very amateur.

Don’t forget is all over the place with no vocal, lyrical or production focus , and I stand by that-what am I meant to concentrate on?

Mermaid Motel is her best Lizzy Grant song imo. It's so iconic and I can never get enough of it. I wish she had performed it live as Lana at least once.

It seems almost unbelievable to me that this album exists, yet at the same time I can't recall a time in which it didn't. It's all so surreal, as if Ultraviolence has always existed, transcending time and space and this angel had to grow a new heart to channel her way through the dark nooks of the soul for those who were lucky enough to happen to be there to bear witness. All my experiences before this album are imbued with it, all my future recollections will be bathed in it. It echoes the chronic emptiness and disillusionment "the flesh is heir to", yet never hopeless, always holding onto the image of "cherries in the spring", the "magnificence" of it all if we could only give up on our used-up prosthetic eye through which too much beauty goes unnoticed. This album, to me, is a lament to the beauty of the existence and the burden and the ensuing loneliness you find yourself to be laden with when you are the only one to see it all, the beauty, the sun and ocean blue. But what is to see, when it can't be shared in the way you like it to? It's limiting, depressing and violent. But she still goes on. Dancing the night away. Sorry, I get very emotional over this particular masterpiece. Edit: I originally wrote this entry on @Ultra Violet 's blog on UV since I wanted it to be on this thread, too. Hope that's okay.

They erased the earings for the "animated cover" because i guess it was hard to animate them. But she did wear them on the cover. She even talked about them in this video:

Idk about anyone else, but the Dolby Atmos mix on Apple Music sounds so good. you can clearly hear the vocals better than in the stereo mix and it feels more full like each element has room to breathe 10/10 track
