i think iron gates is going to be pretty dark, disturbing and depressing poetry, violets was quite bittersweet and light, its very optimistic and hopeful, i think iron gates is going to feel cold and harsh, and bitter, thats the kind of imagery i get from the title, i think we're going to get a lot of poems about her experience in this "institution" and possibly some really dark thoughts she has had, and never shared before

It’s so true what everyone is saying about Behind the Iron Gates. I feel like the Interview Mag video could’ve been a trailer for both Chemtrails and Behind the Iron Gates, as I think she’s really tying together the themes of isolation (by literally being behind iron gates but also feeling like an outsider in regards to the culture, both of which I think will see Lana discuss being a prisoner of her own thoughts derived from her experiences, but how that’s almost empowering) and there will be such a synergy between Chemtrails and Behind the Iron Gates - even more than Norman and Violet! I think both projects will influence the way the other should be interpreted or listened to and it’s really cool to see her putting out projects in multiple formats that are all connected! I hope she continues putting out records and poetry collections that are symbiotic so that we can be further blessed with her insight!!

Violet is really an important piece of her whole artistic vision, like, we've always heard her talking about becoming a poet and doing what she loves the most! So now that she finally achieves that we shouldn't treat Violet as something minor or unimportant, in fact, I believe Norman's actual sister is Violet and I'm so looking forward to both Chemtrails and their sibling Behind The Iron Gates! I can only imagine how good those two would complement each other

Behind Iron Gates already sounds more menacing and dark than Violet. Just like Chemtrails sounds more menacing and dark than Norman. Tbh, looking at it thru the lens of Lana’s life and experiences, how she is right now reminds me a lot of 2014/Ultraviolence era Lana. Coming off a public breakup, admittedly depressed and anxious, getting trashed in the media... I obviously don’t want her to go backwards, but idk, it’s just something I noticed

I cannot believe how much I missed the dark, creative Gaga and didn't even know about it. I got reminded why I strive to have an artistic career in the first place and how much influence she had on me growing up. The fact she really brought this unique visual to life... The respect I have is endless. She's the next-level no one in this industry or anyone tbh can reach.

Happy birthday, Honeymoon! Too many things to say about this record (and if you scroll back a few years ago in this thread, you will see my essay-long posts analyzing this record ) but I love it and it is a new peak for Lana - the definition of timelessness and a lush sound - a career highlight! <3

Happy birthday to this absolute gem from start to finish! Gorgeous album. I remember some of my friends thinking the album was boring when it came out and I was seriously judging them lol

happy 5th birthday, honeymoon! i really love this album, it's relaxing, it's lonesome, it's oceanic, and it's just lovely. so many tracks off this album are so underrated among the fanbase, yet are standouts in her discography, such as the title track, music to watch boys to, religion, salvatore, and 24. i'd consider this album to be the bridge between the submissive, stormy character from btd - uv, to the more assured, yet honest and introspective character from lfl - nfr. perfect album for the summertime, where there is a still a cool breeze yet you can feel the slow burn of the sun beating down on you.

Happy Birthday Honeymoon!!! You are truly a masterpiece Love this album so much and it's perfect for an escape from reality into the gorgeous instrumentals and her beautiful and stunning vocals...love to get lost in this album and I mean that in the most positive way ever Perfect album for sunbathing and moonbathing Can't believe that Honeymoon is already 5 years old During 2015 I turned into a Lana Fan and I still remember that my mother bought me the Honeymoon CD and after a few listens it was my favourite album of hers. Nowadays this album is still one of my favourites (along with UV) Honeymoon is one if her most dreamiest songs ever and The Blackest still snatches my entire existence and there are so many amazing moments on the album , it actually deserves an own post

It isnt her most critically acclaimed album and that's why I can't take the critics seriously. Happy birthday, Honeymoon. And thank you, Lana, for giving it to us.

Happy birthday Honeymoon! I remember vividly when Lana released you. At that times, I only listened to Video Games and Born to Die (the song), didn't check the whole album, and totally forgot about her. But I just fell in love with this new aesthetic and gave her a second chance. The best thing I could've do. The singles were just mesmerizing, I never ever heard something as dreamy and ethereal. The day after its release, I bought not only Honeymoon but Born to Die, the Paradise EP and Ultraviolence, and my journey as a stan began. Truly a turning point in my very short life. Shortly after, I saw The Love Witch. I was still listening to the album non-stop so the two universes just crossed in my mind, making it her witchiest album for me. That's probably why it's still my favorite. Anyway, happy birthday to this iconic masterpiece!

It used to play American in April/May 2018 until NFR came out and then it switched to California, but maybe since they switched it back to American and the NFR era is over, that's a sign that this is just a placeholder song until COTCC comes out and another song will be on it!

I agree. And I'm sad that her fans havent paid much attention to it. I'm sure they would have loved it if she had turned those poems into songs because they give such a deeper understanding into who she is and how she lives.

Ahhh man, this album holds a special place in my heart. It’s the first era of hers that I ever got to experience as a stan. What an amazing time for me. I remember waiting to hear the leaks recorded at the urban outfitters lol.

I think expressing yourself through art is a great healing method, so if she's in a state similar to those years, I'm sure this album and the poetry can really help her getting things off her chest.

It was so distressing to watch her that way It reminded me way too much of her lying on the couch crying in pure agony, in her Netflix documentary.

I loved it. the parallels to prison, the glossing, the movement almost like tourettes. they're kinda like chess pieces. roles. clothe changes. the stages of processing and healing, acceptance. guilt is a powerful thing. shame too. It made me uncomfortable, it really did. but it's a very real thing and I'm glad she shared this with us. I feel like if she didn't take this approach, it'd be a bit too depressing? but it's a dark, complex bop wbk..

American drag performer Trixie Mattel has just released a cover of 'Video Games'. True to her style, she released a country and folk influenced rendition of Lana's debut single. Listen below!

Ok but Cirkut slapped on this. I got chills throughout all the Heaven side. This is some TD/1989/TFM god tier POP. Tattoo, Born To The Night's vocoder, Belladonna, Naked highlights of the album. Sweet But Psycho still one of the best pop song of the last few years, so theatrical, so dramatic, perfect closer. So Am I could've left her spot to Freaking me Out, so out of place. Strongest pure pop release this year. 9/10
