It's a cute little bop. A bit too safe maybe, but I'm positive the album will still be great. The video really elevates it IMO, she looks stunning as ever.

I actually don’t mind the song, but like everyone else has said, it’s cute. Nothing more. The video was underwhelming and felt sort of cliché to me? I would’ve liked to see her in her mega pop star role versus fashionable female president. It would’ve felt more...believable? and would’ve made the song feel more personal - an element we all loved on TUN. Also, obviously Ariana is ungodly gorgeous, but the constant glamor shots in her videos are getting so old.

I absolutely loved the song, it just keeps getting better with each listen, the hook is absolutely addictive

positions is nothing special necessarily, like it's not revolutionary pop, but for some reason i really love it. her voice is just never not enjoyable and everything she's done since god is a woman is so addictive. I love the really subtle whistle note towards the end. it's been on repeat since last night pretty much. very excited to work this into my work playlist. between this serve, Ari's upcoming album, Miley's upcoming album, Lana delivering Violets, LMLYLAW and cocctober being recognized, Poppy's Inferno being released, Haley's upcoming book, all the Taylor Swift merch I have coming... I'm fucking LIVING right now!!!

I like the covers but I’m against them being on the album because they’re live performances and the rest of the album is going to be studio recorded tracks.. it sounds messy in theory The live performances should’ve stayed on streaming services as singles, she could have recorded studio versions if she wanted to include them as album tracks. I can forgive her because the album is still gonna serve

This is by far her worst song. The production is so bland, literally sounds like a Changes reject but somehow even more boring. Absolutely no color to it, sonically. Hope it gets scrapped

The song was really bad.. the production Sweetener did have some duds but it had some great songs too, she lost it after that album it seems because TUN was boring, Boyfriend and DCMA were boring, now this song is boring. Hopefully the full album is better

“Cute” isn’t lead single worthy. As bad as it sounds, I hope this backfires and she goes on a year/2year hiatus tbh.. maybe then she can return with an actual project that has substance, emotion, and effort put into it. We need more Ghostin moments

They might be live performances, but they sound pretty much studioesque for me, since they don't have the audio of the crowd. They were recorded live, but the lack of the crowd improves the recording quality and makes it closer to one in-studio. I'm actually glad they made the cut! Both Heart of Glass and Zombie are my favourites. Besides that, I like the fact that we're having (some of?) the leaked tracks in the album, but my greedy ass would have preferred to have all new since Midnight Sky onwards, only to have more material ddddd. November can't end faster. I need this album in my life and I never imagined that - as I never followed Miley so closely before.

I'm honestly SHOOKETH that the album got retitled and that Plastic Hearts is the title - I hope she includes the song in the album anyways, as some singers have left out the title track (Avril Lavigne, Meghan Trainor...) but hey! We got Heart of Glass AND Zombie in it! I can't hide my excitement

Kinda sad that Slide Away is not on the album. One of the top 3 Miley songs for me. Also, could Mary Jane from 2019's version of them album be a cover of Alanis Morissette's Mary Jane?

I’m not a fan of her, but like her, and like her voice. But that song reminds me of every song she’s ever released. Not bad but nothing new, I guess? And it’s the first single from this record, and not a promo one... so I’m not looking forward to the album at all.

Sorry but Joni never gave up her child to stay in the music business. She didn’t even start performing or writing music til she was pregnant and it was to make extra money for food because she was— wait for it— pregnant. She had no choice but to give up her child because she had no money or husband and in those days public shaming was a thing. Originally she married Chuck Mitchell so they could adopt her child but then he changed his mind and said he didn’t want to raise another man’s baby, so they got divorced and she started her career. She even said about it “if you make a good marriage, God bless you. If you make a bad marriage, become a philosopher.” That’s what she did, not the other way around. And she said it killed her when she made her fortune because she could finally afford her daughter and it was too late, she had a family. She even said not having her child was the big hole in her life that she tried to fill with songwriting and after she finally reunited with her daughter, her muse went away. She admitted she lost all her inspiration because it was just to fill a void. Yes her art is beautiful and I wouldn’t have wanted an alternate reality without it, but it’s just plain false to claim she chose her career over her child.
