I felt every record had its own perfect partner. cocc was a low-key and still, more thoughtful nfr, lfl was a revolutionized version of btd, hm is the perfect continuation to uv and its “calm after the storm” , but paradise has no one even though it was quite a stormy record about getting corrupted in la, living crazy, while having a inner yearning for peace and an end. When I saw the bb cover I got paradise cover vibes, I thought maybe it will be a nice companion the way lfl was to btd. The snippet talks about her body,LA, sensuality, angels and innocence, Hilton hotel (motel sprees), and imo from the snippet it sounds like it would be such a beautiful closure to paradise. as for vocals there was a return of her deep voice in wfwf, but the lighter vocals could be a nice opposition to pd too. ig we'll see.

I actually think Thunder and Cherry Blossom go so well with the other three songs! Cherry Blossom and Blue Banisters are both piano-driven with very rich vocals, and I’m sure a re-recorded version of Cherry Blossom will have a bit of additional production (like the ambient background synths in BB and piano embellishments on top of the main accompaniment) to reflect BB’s sonic landscape. Thunder and Text Book definitely belong to the same album as well - they both have this driving pulse to them and have this rolling feeling to them, especially with the lovely background singers. Since Thunder is from the same sessions as California, I could see the version that leaked being a demo and the version that ends up on BB having substantial differences (like how California has an unleaked demo that is noticeably different from the version on NFR). And then “my body is a map of LA....” also sounds like it will stay true to the vibe of Blue Banisters and Cherry Blossom. So I’m thinking ? this record will have two sounds - one half being piano-driven, soulful ballads, and the other half being atmospheric, rockabilly/bluegrass-inspired music with subtle jazz influences and prominent background singers!

“Here’s the deal - ‘cause I know you wanna talk about it” would be a great opening line for an album to be honest. I’m not sure if I would want WW to be the opening track though.

Am I crazy for thinking the piano at the beginning of the snippet (before she starts singing) sounds a bit haunting? I would love for it to be part of a long piano intro. Manifesting lots of dark, dramatic piano on the album.

I'm not a fan of unreleased songs on upcoming records. I like being surprised with new material. But one song I can make an exception for is Fine China. It's so magical, it deserves a place on her official discography. It deserves justice!

Blue Banisters is a perfect opener tbh - it's the end of the relationship and she's letting us know how she's navigating through it - the single could either fit before or after Blue Banisters since she's singing about how her body is a map of LA to deter her from her time in Oklahoma: She's reclaiming LA as her body and it's perfect Wildflower Wildfire feels like it plays after a really intense song (I'm looking at you Dealer ) but I'm curious about Text Book's placement

Gorgeous concept and it totally makes sense. BB seems to be her finding inner peace, not needing men or anything more than just relaxing with her girlies. They complete her and she doesn't need any of the things she craved in Paradise

I had this weird dream where Lana started uploading alternative covers of every album and single she released (for some reason there was a lot of leopard print) and the captions were like the track names and lyrics from BB and we were all waiting for her to post the next one to see another track I had a lot of dreams about Lana but never about LB or album promo

I completely understand anyone who is suspicious of her and those lyrics but I don't think she's virtue signalling; I do think she should stop seemingly impulsively ranting on Instagram - I wish she just wouldn't give a fuck and just lived her life (harder said than done). In the context of those "rants" and subsequent criticism, her music/lyrics do take on a performative attitude. But it is through her music that she has always been able to convey her feelings and thoughts with clarity. And because I don't see the line re BLM as virtue signalling, I don't believe there's a need to change the way she writes, just the way she communicates on insta

spilling my 5min thoughts: someone mentioned it before but I love the blue middle finger painted nail. that's something to think about. I'm hoping that she releases soon soonish, but w the pattern of her delays it's been starting to feel like maybe some kind of convenient for clever promo, which then follows the next month when she starts actually releasing from past albums anyway. so hoping that august is some kind of realistic. the tracks are still so so good. hope that bb opens it. tho ww could be a whirlwind of an opener too. tb might be too cheeky to do imo. atm I'm wondering what might be so unexpected that the insiders were mentioning. revealing something w revealing anything my mind is just always side-ly on the lookout for that, so im hoping it's not anything anti-climactic. back to ww, we all know how perceptive Lana is, despite the rep she gets here from her use of repetition n just some of her fans being less than socially savory, but I wonder if Britney had any sort of touch towards Lana on ww. it might just be a warm coincidence, but it's sort of comforting to know that the track exists at around the time of Britney's court hearing and from a social standpoint as well. both factors sort of support each other in a way. I'm also mostly interested in how she took all that bruised pain and healed it, yea the bb title track, but we know our girl's a lot deeper than that. wonder what happened to the bb mv. when she'll be releasing the new song (map of la(?)) - maybe around the next full moon or something, or like around 2 weeks from now? guessing. if we'll get any more magazines w interviews (though maybe unlikely from just the general vibe, n potential themes of the album, at least from the last general update, it'd be amazing tho) I'd really like to see a formal trailer, if even she strung the snippets we've gotten so far together. I miss them, I can still UV's n LFL's vividly in my mind im probably most excited about knowing how many tracks we'll be getting to listen to. strangely enough, the back cover. and of course what colors of vinyl we'll be getting. pearl pearl peaaaaaaaaaaarlescent. or a cherry maroon that compliments but both contrasts from the soft yellow. or some kind of bronzed gold. or a beautiful dark green. to end on a hopeful note, we've got like 3 weeks til august. something's gotta happen in between then. oh and the cover reminds me of like a cabin getaway in the mountains by a lake or something so that's nice.
