The newer work is quite lackluster. I don't know but I think it is largely due to the speed with which material is being out; four albums in four years is a lot. An artist should sit down with their work, and sit on it for even longer. I happened to listen to the previews from the Blue Banisters track list recently. Every song seemed indistinguishable from the last to me. I'll happily listen to "Put Your Lips Together" or "Gramma" over "Arcadia" and "Dealer" any day. It's funny that a laptop demo has more grit, allure and is wholly a more transportive experience in melody and lyric than any studio production of hers in the last 3 years. Lana, get back to your roots, love!

yes!! i was literally listening to the album's instrumentals and there are SO many details with so many instruments, people just discredit it because it has piano in it and the other instrumentals aren't that loud

tbh i would not be surprised if she does LDR9 with jack, especially after she posted that pic of him i sort of think she did BB on her own with some new randos bc he has been so busy, and covid shit she said during chemtrails production he was really occupied or something along those lines. after listening to chemtrails again today next to BB, i am actually fine with a jack comeback. the production on chemtrails is undeniably beautiful - its just the style a lot of ppl don't care for i can't imagine he would do another album with Lana in the same stripped, folk style as NFR and Chemtrails and we all know he has amazing range as a pop producer even if he has been leading a balladry movement these last couple of years maybe we would end up getting something a little closer to pure pop and less experimental than BB? manifesting something like..... Doin' Time x Get Free x Black Bathing Suit hot hard pop, hip-hop, alternative, surf rock fusion

God Knows I Tried is one of her best songs of all time, and is perhaps even in the top 3 best tracks on Honeymoon (which is difficult to rank already)

This is the type of artwork I want for the MM3 tracks. Something new for Melanie's music, however still matching her vintage rococo aesthetic she's had since 2017. I think this style would go perfectly with this album's light vs. dark theme. Light, easy brush strokes telling a dark story about sirens and dragons.

tbh, i understand that Pop2 is a fan favorite and according to critics and most of the fans her best work, but the fact that she barely speaks of Number 1 Angel is a crime. that mixtape started it all and remains number 1 for me at least. but yay go Pop2 happy anniversary

Yeah, most likely. Also, in previous album cycles she release the singles more close to each other. This time it was these two in the year, and no album announcement followed them, nor a third single, so I think the era hasn't properly started yet. There's still a chance these two make it to the album as bonus tracks or something.
