The opening line of All Smiles was used in Carmen, but the song itself is really different. Completely different story. Definitely one of my favourites x Aside from that one, other “rough” demos that I’d love to see get the full classic Lana Del Rey production treatment are Your Band is All the Rage, You’re Gonna Love Me, Disco, Money Hunny, Noir, Baby Blue Love, C U L8r Alligator, Hangin’ Around, Valley of the Dolls, Run Motorcycle, “The Man I Love” segment from the Trash Magic demo, & the opening parts of Heartshaped Chevrolet, as of course the latter half of the song essentially became On Our Way & Every Man Gets His Wish. I’m tempted to add Pin-Up Galore to the list, but I feel like the versions we have already are perfect for the song because they really capture the vibe of it. Same w Wayamaya. Would also love to see Lana versions of some May Jailer tracks such as Pretty Baby, Out with a Bang, and Bad Disease. Also Ben, but apparently a studio version does already exist. (though I’m paging @butterflies to please make a remix using the acapella we have of it & Run Motorcycle. I’m surprised no one has tried to make fitting full versions of those with the acapellas we have) Another great one. I really like this remix Kristopher Prophet did. It’s not perfect since the acapella we have isn’t great quality, but I do enjoy listening to it. It has sort of a dark, creepy, grunge feel to it. Also, Kristijan Majic / butterflies did a great remix for C U L8r that I really love -

I guess we can add Don't Forget to the list of shelved music videos along with: - Guardian (she said like twice that she already filmed it) - Unknown songs (she said that she already shot visuals for two songs when she was bitching about Capitol blocking her releases) - Love in Stereo (footage "lost") - Heavy Metal Heart (thanks eyelovelefteye) - Cry Baby song mv (she filmed something before getting the album shelved) And I think I'm missing some others, can't remember.

Yall I bought the w magazine and I was reading through the interview. It says they had country music playing during the photoshoot, say what you want but lana also recently posted “hope you like country music”. I have a theory that it’s not all country, but definitely influenced by it the way she says certain songs on born to die are country influenced. The comment about there being layers of orchestral instrumentation also makes me think that. Also random manifestation but I’m getting the same vibes from “Hey Blue Baby” that “Cherry Blossom” gave me before BB was released.

I hope that LDR9 is a vanity project, I need another honeymoon.

Now hear me out (what else ya gonna do anyway since this thread is dry asf lmaoooo) If LDR9 were to take country direction, I wouldn’t object to a song like (or an exact cover of) Fruits of My Labor by Lucinda Williams. This song is a gorgeous, truly beautiful country/folky gem with a really nice melody and vocal delivery. Again, hear me out because there are so many parallels to the song and its references that tie back to LDR.

Loving the VOTD love I think If I Die Young and Your Band Is All the Rage deserve special mention here. Whether or not IIDY is actually finalized and just LQ idk but it still sounds a little rough; there’s absolute magic in both of these songs though
