11 likesLight of my life, fire of my loins... The vote is in! It looks like, drumroll please.... beuhrfbehufbrhue (drumroll noises) How does everyone feel about starting this weekend on Sunday? It's not a long book, so I don't expect this one to take us too, too long. We can start it on Sunday, if everyone thinks they can find the book by then, and the first discussion can start the following sunday! If you all need more time to get the book, we can wait another week, I wanna be sure everyone has time to get the book or find it and be able to start it

11 likesIt's so crazy that Lana can totally debut at No. 1 but somehow someone bigger than her sabotages her. Born to Die -> Adele blocked everyone for like a whole year Honeymoon -> Drake surprise dropped his album and blocked her Norman Fucking Rockwell -> Taylor Swift released one week earlier + Tool's long awaited comeback Chemtrails over the Country Club -> Fucking Justin Bieber decided to release the same day as her With Blue Banisters she simply had no chance. Luckily it managed to debut inside the Top 10

I wonder what Sky feels about Capitol Records aiming to give an AI rapper more power and freedom than she ever had in her whole career lol... -

I'll honestly be shocked if she releases anything in October, with both the Arctic Monkeys and Taylor Swift dropping albums in that month. That leaves either September or November if she wants to release anything soon-ish. I'd love for her to do something in September, its my birth month, but I think the most we will get is a single (if we are super lucky). -

Actually a lot : Butterfly Boy, Murder on the Dancefloor, Obsessions, Never, New Shapes (Solo), Motion, Communication, Stay, Block and a lot more. Won’t share more unknown titles, but they are out there. -
7 likesI'm a little late but I think that Jack's post just meant that the studio was "hell." It seems like Lana's been working really hard to finish the album, and is probably tired of the studio, I don't think it represents any sort of musical direction.

6 likesDo we actually expect something in September? I don't think we're getting anything in the very first day but I do think that she's starting the era in a couple of weeks (at least with a more official teaser or an announcement). Even if the album is not fully done I wouldn't mind a taste of it and since this pre release is going smoothly without fake dates and such I don't think the wait for the album would be so tedious this time. Chemtrails was kinda messy because of the delays and fake dates cause the actual rollout wasn't that bad (LMLYLAW in October, preorder announcement in December with a nice teaser, title track in January and the final single with the album in March).

Because it’s boring. No melodies, way too experimental to the point of it just being soundscapes and tweeting, and the whole album sounds the same. No variety, no structure, it’s just…..sounds for 1 hour. The only good thing I’ll say about it is that it has atmosphere. If she wanted to capture the sounds of air/clouds/birds or however she described it, she certainly accomplished that. But i need a little more than a “concept” and avant garde music from her, she certainly used to give more than that. And yes, i’m one of the older fans. I’ve been listening to her since i was in my early teens in the late 90’s. I don’t expect her to go back to her alt electronic music she used to do back in the day, that was literally 30 years ago…..she’s obviously evolved as an artist since then. But i feel like an album like Medulla, which is very high concept, manages to find a good balance of experimentation and music that actually is enjoyable. Her album run from Debut to Medulla is incredible. Apparently the new album will be feature bass this time, so i’m hoping that means we at least get some more depth and layers to the music and not just air sound effects with moaning. I’ll keep my expectations very low though. Regardless of all of this, i still love and respect her as an artist. And no matter whether it’s my thing or not i will always give new material from her a listen because she’s one of my all time favourites. -

5 likesFirst single announcement tomorrow, with it's release being next week, then with the single release we get a trailer for the album, pre-order in early October and release on mid-November
-
5 likesI don’t know if anyone has mentioned this, but I think it’s hard to miss the fact that BOTH Arctic Monkeys and Taylor Swift announced their next albums to come out October 21. I refuse to believe that it’s a coincidence. How iconic wouldn’t it be if Lana decided to announce her album coming out October 21 too?

5 likesI'm truly clueless about what's coming at this point. Her description sounded like we were getting confessional piano tracks, but then she said she was angry and she also mentioned the orchestra (plus that thing about country) which are not mutually exclusive things but it's all so vague that we can't really get anything significative out of it.

Bjork is a fantastic, incredible artist. I appreciate her career because she hasn't released easy-to-access, mainstream projects. I would not have been surprised if the public would not have followed but it is, and people understand how much there is a huge job beyond each album. I didn't like Bjork for a long time because I didn't understand her success, and why she was coming back so much in the rankings among the best artists in the world. I did not understand his universe. I dug and then I dropped before giving a chance to Biophilia that I downloaded (its cover intrigued me). It's a bit unpopular but Biophilia remains her most fascinating album. When it came out (I discovered Bjork at that time), I was impressed by the whole concept behind it: the applications, the instruments created for the occasion, the costumes, the museums, and the reworked and revised nature in a melodic way. I often listened to it when I was stressed and felt closer to nature than ever. It was a very interesting concept. And then I discovered the rest which really impressed me. Isobel, So broken, Bachelorette, Charlene, Stronemilker, and then Pagan Poetry... The B-sides are also magnificent. She has made such advanced albums, she herself becomes her own music in aesthetics. So much to say about her. Utopia was a good album, but I was a little less attentive to that, I didn't really like the visuals. The next one is going to be very interesting for sure. There are no 2 Bjork, and it's so cool to see so many people loving and respecting her (especially this forum) -

5 likesThe surprise release route is not very likely in my mind at the moment, regardless of Lana’s success with physical releases: both Beyoncé and Taylor, who are both in the top female singers, didn’t surprise release their newest album, going with the « short prerelease with one vinyl in preorder »route rather surprise drop like they did with the last two albums. however, the lead in September makes a lot of sense for Lana, with a second one with preorder in November?
