she just became a basic LA bitch who hangs out with the likes of xylo and lizzy platypus... absolute flops who hasnt made decent music since tumblr was still alive. her whole personality being quirky anti society flower lady... she was never a genius like lana to make the correct pivots in her career or recover her pen after being sucked by the LA vapidness. ancient dreams sonically made up for the mess that came before, but her writing really continues to be cringy and not the maturity expected from a woman of her age. the way she takes such beautiful eastern spiritual concepts and ideas around consciousness and translate them into the most preachy katy perry like cringe lyrics. she really turned into a not so cool aunt who drinks wine all day and talks about her crystals. she has also rebelled against stan culture and took herself way too seriously when people were doing those she is poor memes. she has on several occassions voiced how she kinda feels weird about fans and alienated herself from them putting herself apart which is a huge mistake when you already have a small fanbase. she became the joke instead of being in on the joke and that's her fault. just an example, ellie said her new album is her least personal yet and people went crazy making memes about it and spamming her with that quote, she laughed about it and made jokes/tiktoks about it herself and even had a billboard up with that quote. if that was marina she would be so pissed and angry about that, probably saying some shit like she was taken out of context and reply passive aggressively to her fans about it.

This thread is so sad, I just come in here as a disaster tourist and see all of your desperation.

As it should be: she’s about to go on tour until, at least, October. Plus three new tracks with her involved have yet to be released. I don’t want another album name that will change, a BS release date or learn about a new song she’ll toss aside or that LB will hate.

The way I want this so bad, but my realist brain keeps kicking in. Like, she's 37. She was in her early-mid 20s with TFJ, she was she mid-20s with EH, and she was cresting 30 with Froot. As a doddering old fuck 30-something myself, I can say that there's some grand perspective shifts and emotional changes that do come with age; and I think there's a certain energy and emotional tone that came out of the TFJ to Froot run that won't be able to be recaptured or recreated by her, just by virtue of having that much more life experience and wisdom and perspective. L&F and ADIAML feel.....'softened' - there's just not the same attitude there anymore. TFJ had a punky, spunky, quirky energy to it. EH had this rebellious, sexy vibe that also managed to be politically aware and didn't undermine itself by doing so. Froot continued the theme, and it felt matured and sultry and swam in it's own emotions. But then L&F got a little tooooo mellowed out; and felt like it was asleep at the wheel, and ADIAML just tried way too hard - it's was too topical to a fault. (And I say all of this, finding something to love on ALL her albums, and generally enjoying all of them overall) Her earlier albums pulled from her struggles with depression and anxiety, nods to eating disorders, hints at her own self loathing or career frustrations, etc. - things that all have deep emotional roots and deep emotional resonance with lots of people. Her last two albums...don't seem to go as deep, to me. They feel like they're from someone who's more relaxed with themselves, someone who's more relaxed with their career, someone who's not so hard on themselves anymore. She feels like she's turned the spotlight away from things that are drawing from within herself and are now drawing from an external source instead. I just don't think she's got the mindset or the career positioning or the emotional stage to pull off anything like she did with TFJ-EH-Froot anymore.

Anyway, has anyone else seen the TikTok stans fighting over Mel's vocal damage? The ones who try to talk about it get treated like they're just shitting on her now, but I remember when all of this first started years ago, and no one acted that sensitive about it then. If anything, people were genuinely worried about her! Her fanbase has gotten so obsessive that they won't even admit when she's injured, like it's some sort of insult. I just think if people keep trying to pass off her extreme vocal damage as "having a hard time in the mask"(like this hasn't been going on since 2016), "she's quitting smoking", "she's just emotional", etc., she'll never actually realise how bad it's gotten and she'll just keep pushing it. At this rate, by 2025 she'll just have to use backing tracks and won't even be able to keep up with her own music. That's not my problem of course, but I think it's alright to express concern that a singer might not even be able to sing one day if they don't change something now.

I still suspect they're going to be just background vocals on her dad's records, something like that, not fully-developed lyrical tracks.

It's kind of crazy to me how many Lana fans don't realize that Joan is a music legend Maybe I'm just pretentious or whatever, but she really paved the way for so many women in the industry including Lana. It's insane to me how many Lana fans are completely unaware of her and are so willing to reduce her to "old grandma flop" because they don't know anything about her or her music

The album is done (we’ve heard that before) nicki, and BANKS are the only collaborations (that we know of rn) max martin, cirkut and Ian Kirkpatrick are producers on this album

iichliwp is Halsey's best album. I give all that credit to Trent Reznor and Atticus Finch who wrote 95% of the lyrics and produced the album. Halsey might be releasing poetry books and likes to fancy herself as a "songwriter" but look into her album writing credits and there's at least 15 people credited for her lyrics and song per song. She can't write songs or lyrics on her own. She needs a whole team and Capitol paid for that. So hopefully, if she signs onto another major, they could shell money out to all these producers and songwriters she needs. At least Sky writes her own songs and whenever she shares songwriting credits with someone, it's usually one person, not 15 people. Maybe now Capitol can shell out all that money for Sky and give her the "proper roll out" she wants. Right now Capitol's biggest artists on roster is Katy Perry. I don't count Sam Smith because he's a sad clown now and he's lost millions of fans with this new act of his . The amount of people that have walked out of his shows recently... He's going to be the next one to be dropped. I don't feel bad for him. This man is the reason why they removed all the female catogories out of award shows in England. He was whining about why there was a catorgory for females and males and everyone should be fluid like him. Well they kept the male categories but the female ones were removed thanks to Sam. Interesting single choice but I think he’s just putting out what kind of range there is in the album. The word that came to my mind was also ethereal and I think it’ll be a welcomed track amongst the piano tracks.. will be nice to hear some vocal from Lana too, I imagine it will be kept fairly subtle
