Well everyone… the time has come. Welcome to the LDR10 Pre-Pre-Release Thread - Annual Discussion & Meltdown! Lana Del Rey has revealed to a fan while at a Waffle House in Florence, Alabama that she is "working on a new recording." Additionally, earlier this year in a journal entry dated March 28th posted on Instagram, Jack Antonoff wrote that "Lana refuses to leave [the studio]" confirming that a new album is underway! Please let me know what else I should add to a "what we know already" and "speculations" section! x

Kind of hilarious that this fandom has reached the stage where we basically get confirmation of upcoming projects by Waffle House employees Lana randomly worked with in Alabama.

I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, we NEED her depressive summer psychedelic surf rock trip hop album and we need it NOW.

quick reminder that Zach Dawes gave us masterpieces like Thunder, California, Black Bathing Suit, DYKTTATUOB, and Candy Necklace...

I think we should be awarded for our ability to talk out of our asses. Like we really created 19 pages with literally 0 facts and I think that’s really special💕

no matter who produces lana, she makes lana music. i don't think who produces a song mattwrs that much bc lana is in the drivers seat and won't let a producer change her vision these days. that being said, i'd love for her to work morw with jon batiste bc i feel like candy necklace and the interlude really felt like lightning striking and thwy work well together and his piano skills are crazy intense and i like the jazzy vibe he brings to the table. but i'd also like to see her work with zach dawes more bc he always brings this rough southern folk rock energy to the songs they've done together and i'd love an album with a lot more of that. also i'd be thrilled for more jack and rick. they've both more than proved themselves as worthy producers for lana who we know listen to her and understand her vision and i wouldn't mind a full album of half jack and half rick. and obviously i'm supportive of her working with any new producers too. as i've said at the end of the day it doesn't really matter who produces lana and as we see time and again is that thw music lana chooses to make has nothing to do with who produces her. i trust lana's vision no matter what it is.

not sure how unpopular this is as i havent read thru the thread yet, but honestly? i don't need any new music for a while! i'm SO satisfied with Ocean Blvd that i'd happily just let that record sit with me for a little while longer and really deepen my relationship with it. i really loved Blue Banisters and i did like Chemtrails, but with both of those records i was ready for new music pretty much straight away - this time around though? i could just happily enjoy Ocean Blvd a while longer before i got excited over any new stuff. this record feels so era-defining for my life and i don't feel ready to move on or start speculating about what's next. i just really, really, really love it. it's like a haze of seafoam clouds and supernovas that i just wanna live in forever. plus from a fan perspective i wouldn't say no to a music video or two, as well as some more professionally recorded live performances! i know that pre-pre-release isn't the same as pre-release, but even so: i'm not craving the pre-pre-release this time! that's how i know lana did something REALLY special with Ocean Blvd

Just a few thoughts: Jack Antonoff will definetly be involved this. I hope it's not a solo Jack album though , would be very interesting to see what a new producer would bring to the table. Also Jon Batiste, Nick Waterhouse, Zach Dawes are very welcomed again I like Drew & I wouldn't be mad if he's involved but I would love to see Dan Heath again or the guy who did the strings on Thunder As some users mentioned before, manifesting a Rick Nowels (& Kieron) return Also Tim Lacrombe for another bop but that might be too delusional Also I would like to see more Taco Truck vibes , the guitar in it is Regarding Jack Antonoff, I looked at that insta post and he wrote that he & Lana running headfirst into a strange place. That kinda sounds promising & made me curious My prediction is a May/ June 2024 release Bittersweet Anthem & Zodiac , I better see you on the tracklist

Considering how we got Ultraviolence UO version (and not the boxset) and LFL UO too (and it was clearly stated in the info caption) I think it’s safe to assume that we’re most certainly getting the pink UO NFR variant and then the HM UO red variant (I’d be over the moon cause I’ve been wanting those forever) as for Chem, BB and Ocean I highly doubt… they were pressed just 2 years ago and there’s not really that much of a demand

Manifesting a record with great lyrics, some jazzy vibes and a melancholic, lush and soulful voice. Something close to Buddy's Rendezvous, or Honeymoon for example

Let's be honest, the 128394 variants trend for a single album is a little much. She should do like one standard black vinyl with the standard cover + one or two coloured/funky/marbled variants with an alternative cover. Or even better, make a boxset that rivals Ultraviolence's. Also, bring back 7" singles. Thank you.

We all know there will be at least 5 variants

Since she's working on LDR10 right now & it's probably in an early stage it's the best time to manifest things that we want to hear. Light your candles tonight, the Lipsters have work to do

I wouldn’t mind Mike Dean returning to produce but I’d prefer it to be in more of the synth sound he’s oriented with… no more fuzziness like with WFWF

honestly if the new album had say yes to heaven & fine china and maybe a few other unreleased like i talk to jesus but was mostly newly recorded stuff i wouldn't be mad. but then i'm in the minority who actually enjoyed blue banisters and thought the leaked songs fit into the album nicely.

iirc BOZ said that most of the songs they recorded have already leaked, but for me, the dream would be if they could collaborate on new material together

All I’m asking for on this record is something like Shades Of Cool, not even like a guitar heavy song but something with a really explosive loud bridge with gorgeous mumbling beneath it, like it is a need Like if it was super jazzy with lots of different brass instruments

She also wasn’t sure about A&W as a single but then we she realized all her friends loved it she put it out and I think the fact that it was so well-loved by critics and fans is going to push her into a more experimental direction

All that we can say for certain is the upcoming record will potentially be more experimental given her interview from LES INROCKS back in march. quote from the interview translated from french: " I don't know if it's about getting out of my comfort zone or rather shooting myself in the foot... But this album condemns me to take even more risks in the future, that's the lesson it taught me. I didn't need that when I started. But everything was turned upside down fans the music. The era is conducive to risks, to experimentation, the public decides for itself what it wants to hear, without being forced. It gives me a lot of confidence to have fun with my songs."

Aha-Music, ACRCloud and audd.io don't allow looking up unreleased music anymore, sleuthing with snippets will be more difficult this time

exacttttlyyy like, i do not understand why they haven’t done more sessions together like those sessions gave us thunder, dealer, and california which are all incredible tracks both lyrically and sonically - i feel like they could easily do a whole album of tracks like that and it would be one of her best like she’s already working with zach a lot so? why not get miles tyler and loren back in on the action

I have said this before, but I feel like she might lean in a bit towards the Lizzy Grant kinda sound (AKA has been very relevant lately as has been discussing much and I think most know what I’m referring to, and she has been in Alabama working as a waitress. I also think the Jimmy part of AW is very reflective of that style). But I also think she might lean into the old Hollywood glamour like she did in Candy Necklace MV. I hope she’ll have fun trying new producers (while Jack has his moments, and he was perfect for NFR, I feel like it’s time for her to try new things). And I defined believe that performing live inspires her to make more upbeat music. I think with all of Lana’s albums, you can really see how influenced she is by external factors, especially people she has spent a lot of time with. And considering how happy and nostalgic she has seemed lately I think it will be reflected in her music.

It’s seriously amazing that our girl is recording her tenth album a little over 10 years after BTD She is working non-stop. i was watching the Wham documentary on Netflix and the Whitney Houston biopic two weeks ago, and I was a bit shocked to learn that Wham only has 3 or 4 albums under their belts - and yet, they are legendary. same with Whitney Houston: she doesn’t have 10 studio albums in her whole career and she is so iconic. I know that the circumstances are not comparable at all with Lana (Whitney’s tragic struggle with drugs slowed down considerably her career - and the music industry has also changed a lot since the 80s), but for both of these phenomenal and iconic artists, I thought they had way more albums than that. which brings me to how iconic Lana’s career is already, how incredibly impactful she already is amongst her piers - and we haven’t seen the last of her yet

I honestly don’t care what style or what type of song she goes into for the next album. OB kinda ticked all the boxes : personal singer/songwriter ballads, classic old Hollywood songs, bangers (for Lana at least), prog experimental masterpiece(s). In Spring, I would have wished for another Jon Batiste collab, but we’ll have it on his album. Pop Lana is something that we haven’t heard in a while, but if an unreleased compilation is really on the way, many of the songs that Interscope would want on it are mostly pop-ish. which leaves me with no expectations whatsoever, which is always the best way to enter a new Lana era Isn’t it White Dress?

lana seems like shes having more fun with life lately n i think that will reflect in the new songs also the fact that she probably said everything she felt she needed to on OB about her past, mental struggles, s*an, etc. my guess is the new music will be fresh n fun… like a LFL situation but more grown up n less political

Well we know The Grants, DYKTTATUOB, Let The Light In, Peppers, and Taco Truck were (probably) the first ones written, because they were all done with Mike. After that, Lana and Jack (probably) started working together and that's where the other ones came. Candy Necklace and Margaret were two of the final ones written. I honestly have no idea what my expectations for LDRX are. I don't expect she'll venture too far off from her current sound, but some of the songs on Tunnel really shocked me production wise. She made comments that she was happy and excited to see what she wrote next so I'm hoping we get some more light/fun songs. I do hope she uses the production of her recent live shows for this album.

So, antonoff is the producer for the 5th time in a row? (Nfr, violet, chemtrails, OB) honestly, it's getting kinda stale. Can we have Nowels back or Emil Hayne or both ? Max Martin, Mark Ronson... someone to mx things up a bit 😩
