19 likesHope performance 😭 the ending where they take her away… it reminded me of Fingertips where she says “what kind of mother was she to say I'd end up in institutions?” I think she’s representing her past (the AA meetings when she sings the Bowery bums part) but also the dramatic future her mother had imagined for her when she was a teen… cause she probably told her she was “crazy”

11 likesI also can't believe the setlist was 85% NFR, Chem, Blue and Ocean Blvd. This should be the staple of her setlist in the year 2023. She sounds so so good singing her new songs, I said this since MITA Festival. Norman fucking Rockwell Arcadia Bartender Chemtrails The Grants Breaking Up Slowly For Free Mariners Apartment Complex Summertime Sadness Ocean Blvd Hope is a dangerous thing

10 likesNow that I think about it, is this the first show she’s ever done where she hasn’t sang Blue Jeans since like the beginning of her LDR career? I feel like that song has been on every single setlist since the beginning of time along with Video Games & Born to Die, the latter of which she also didn’t perform. Of course since this was a Folk festival it made sense without it, but I feel like by now Blue Jeans should be traded out for a different song for her usual setlist. She does love performing it though which is probably why it’s stuck around as long as it has x

10 likesI was thinking they are dragging her into an asylum with the "straight jacket" and guys in white coats. I've been trying to connect the FBI agents to the story but everything I've come up with is a reach. For example, having the girls support her as the FBI questions her about her recent stalkers and if she recognized them and her becoming overwhelmed with the entire thing and the girls pulling her away. How fame can drive you insane if you succumb to it but luckily for her she has hope and will continue to keep fighting. I'm probably doing too much but I appreciate her artistry and storytelling and I hope she performs it again or we get a full performance.

9 likesA girl that follows my account on Instagram told me that her best friend got to meet Lana and Rob in Newport today. She asked the girl “was it too much me getting dragged off the stage yesterday?” and that she was overthinking it 😭🥹 It was beautiful and so meaningful, she changed the setlist to make it more close to the festivals vibe and was so happy performing at her dads hometown… Critics just pick one thing they dislike and let it overshadow all the good things she did/does.

9 likesFr, if Lana’s team was smart they would drop that instead of a sped up version😭

9 likesi feel like another stevie nicks collab would be STUNNING with lana's current musical direction. i could see her doing fewer collaborations on this next album though, but who knows.

9 likesSince the first show of the tour, I've had this delusional idea that the show is not a concert in the normal sense, but is a self-curated juke box musical covering Lana's whole career (which is why there are pre-BTD images behind her, and she uses different wigs, etc). This version of Hope only adds to the delusion.

7 likesY’all ever notice how haters will use “she” and “her” rather than “you” when commenting hateful ass shit. Like they’re too scared to say “Your set was a joke” so they say “Her set was a joke”… as if that makes what they’re saying any less hateful

7 likesClearly, The Bell Jar is a major influencer in Lana's lyrics, "I saw my life..." written on the mirror by one of the dancers is a direct quote from The Bell Jar... But it's not just in Hope... A&W first line is proof of that... Lana "I haven't done a cartwheel since I was nine" - Plath "I felt happier than I had been since I was nine" Lana - The double mirrors on stage - Plath The magic mirror, the study of the double... and there are others as well...

7 likesI love all the interpretations of the choreo and would add it's likely also a reference to The Bell Jar by Sylvia Plath, about a young woman being institutionalized in a mental hospital. The white sheet suggests a shroud as well as a straitjacket. Lots of layers. I NEED the chill tropical version of SS to be released as a single. She sounded SO GOOD throughout

7 likesI need a Middle Eastern / Asia / World Music influenced album from Lana Del Rey, with mystic guitar flicks and chimes and shit. I want to be conjured.

7 likesCant believe Flipside got out there before Sad Girl, she's so random I guess you can add "Is This Happiness" as well
