Short summary of what he said, he said a lot more but I'm not familiar with music production so I didn't understand half of it. - Recorded in 2 days - Lana likes to watch Jack play drums - Intentionally used detuned guitars - Jimmy was part of the original NFR album concept where she was in Laurel Canyon and in this song specifically going to the club - The vocal ad libs and some effects in Jimmy were new, but otherwise it's the original song from NFR

You come in clutch everytime! “Left the canyon, drove to the club” in Happiness is a Butterfly seemed to have been part of a bigger vision for NFR, then - I remember at the Grammy Museum interview + performance, Lana and Jack mentioned a little soundscape that they called “Laurel on top, Migos on the bottom.” It’s interesting to know that most of Jimmy was likely recorded in 2018.

you're right, her albums don't tend to have even a couple duds

If there are interludes, I hope it’s one of her poems with haunting background instrumentals. Anything else would have to be a no from me

the girl who created the art graphics/illustrations of Lana for Ocean blvd, KaimanKazazian, posted a screenshot of herself listening to "BBM BABY" by lana, (on Spotify) taste, but maybe means absolutely nothing but she is close to Neil Krug , and lana and chuck follow her. maybe its a hint or just her being a fan like us hehe

I don't think we're getting a big break between albums this time either (even with the ongoing tour and the alleged Unreleased Collection coming... I'm sure we'll have a new song by spring. She's been writing since before releasing Ocean Blvd (as usual) and she was in the studio working hard in March, again some days ago in Alabama and probably many more times that we don't know of. There's also the really likely possibility that she recorded some songs with Jon with the next record in mind cause I doubt they only did two songs for their respective albums and an interlude. I don't think she has any clear concept of a record yet of course but I'm sure she has a lot of stuff already as she always does

Trio interlude is her worst song/interlude ever, sorry, the way how Clay botched THE Ennio Morricone's music just to make it sound like a tiktok music that 13 year old roblox/fortnite gamers use for messi or ronaldo edits. I used to love it for few moments but not anymore, it's so cringe Manifesting 0 interludes

im such a slut for her chaotic songs (ex. Shades of Cool bridge, West Coast outro, Venice Bitch instrumental, Black Bathing Suit outro, A&W sample/climax/background noises, surf rock Peppers chorus, Dealer screaming, etc.) and Zodiac sounds like it would fit in this list, so ig what im saying is... leak zodiac and pls have lana do something crazy on the next album

I wouldn’t mind collabs, but I wouldn’t miss them. I feel like some of her most “iconic” and lana-Del-Rey-classic albums have been with only her: Born To Die, Paradise, Ultraviolence, Honeymoon, and Norman Fucking Rockwell.

Discogs data on the variants so far: People who've added it to their collections: Green - 8,393 Dark pink - 7,574 White - 4,905 "Pink" - 4,901 Standard black - 4,028 Nude cover - 3,973 Pic disc - 2,256 Median sale value on Discogs: Nude cover - $69.76 Pic disc - $49.67 White - $42.44 Pink - $41.98 Green - $33.52 Standard black - $27.99 Dark pink - $20.83 Crazy to see how the indie green variant is by far the most commonly owned. I remember it was the hardest to find back when the album came out! I think in the long run, unless there's a repressing, that the nipple cover will be the most valuable and sought after

I'd really love LDR10 to lyrically and sonically sound like Coachella and have features like Nikki Lane and Stevie Nicks again. A return to craft if you will. Coachella is really underrated and I think a folk melody with harder trap beats would sound very nice with Nikki and Stevie's husky smoker rasps. AND Lana's songs like Coachella with her deepest and most well-thought-out messages are always amongst her best IMO

This was all expected but what I am more scared of is that this preprerelease will be hell of a long one and we will all go completely insane by the end of it, setting a very bad example for the LDR11 preprerelease

Lana has done many songs for movies and TV shows. But there are also many (famous) movies and shows where Lana hasn't been part of a soundtrack. Which Lana's songs would suit in a movie or TV show soundtrack where she hasn't been part of?

This was such an interesting episode!! It's so crazy that Jimmy is from 2018. The story of their initial NFR of going down the canyon to the club having both Jimmy and Venice Bitch (beat version) makes so much more sense now! I wonder what happened between the initial idea and the released version that changed things.

Old Money or Art Deco would've been brilliant in The Great Gatsby. 24 for Spectre. Million Dollar Man, Shades Of Cool Honeymoon, Salvatore for any kind of Mafia/gangster movie, for example The Godfather. Shades Of Cool would be perfect for Breaking Bad honestly. The Blackest Day for Jackie. Swan Song for Blonde. Hollywood for Once Upon A Time In Hollywood. Candy Necklace or Old Money for Titanic (I saw an amazing Candy Necklace edit for Titanic).

You can tell she wasn't trying too hard with this song, it just sounds purely natural. It's definitely some of her best work and i wish she made more songs like it. A lot of her music is too lyrical these days which is fine but i miss that dreamy quality that her music used to have

well in my case from 2012 when i found marina and then got into lana through her part of it certainly was the fact that they each had their own unique sound from other artists at the time.. in contrast i guess lanas was way more theatrical and baroque while marinas was more synthish and electronic and what have you (along with piano ballads) in sound and this was during lana and marinas heavily and prime old americana inspired eras which is something i also deeply resonated with since my mom was obsessed with that aesthetic and literally had our kitchen made into a 50s diner theme at my childhood home (which is more of a personal thing more than anything skskss). my nana is also similar as well.. so aesthetically i found something that i really connected to and admired. they’re also both immigrants so i think being the first born in the states the american dream and idealization kind of thing was just kind of like…. part of me i think the most important element is how personally connected they are to their own lyrics too. but can also play them up into some sort of extremes or fantasy as well. also i was just incredibly mentally ill without any outlet since like talking about my experiences was always something i felt i had to avoid SKDKDKD but uh. it was really nice to have these artists to finally connect to with who wrote about alcohol/ drug addiction, different forms of abuse, difficult relationships, and parental/family issues and just reflections of themselves and how they’d want to present themselves to others. cause that’s like all i knew at the time. and they somehow made it comforting and i finally has something to connect to at that age since i couldn’t really get that with anyone else LOL also lana and marina are both Leo moons… as am i… our moons are in Leo indeed… so i think it was just destined to be from the moment the stars formed. born to be a lana del rey fan. you know what i havent listened to buy the stars in a hot minute… so that’s what im going to do now

I actually loved all of the collabs, I just simply prefer her solo work. And I don’t want to listen to an interlude over 2 minutes unless it is actually singing
